I just want all of my folders and sub-folders to have the same display columns! With 115, you can change any folder or sub-folder to any column organization you want, but I want them all the same. 115 changed my display columns - why couldn't you leave them alone, Thunderbird??? I can go in and change them back manually, so why were they changed at all??? I don't want to have to change each folder and its child folders individually - I have a few dozen folders, most with dozens of sub-folders. I tried the "Apply columns to ..." and selected Local Folders to change them all - none of them changed! I saw the video from Castellani claiming that TB tried to make sure that upgrading wouldn't take hours to reconfigure back to a usable state, but that's obviously not true if you have more than the one or two folders shown in the video.
Mozilla/Thunderbird -- Is it so hard to leave things as they are and just TELL us there are new features available, if we want them, instead of DESTROYING our well-used setups and forcing us to come here in hopes that someone can save us from hours of tedium just to be productive again?

There was zero delay on the prior version to open a folder, so it appears to be specific to Supernova. I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned it on the forums yet, so it seems it might just be something about my particular setup. Can anyone help me diagnose what I might be doing wrong?

... and the only way to restore them is to delete the folderCache.json, session.json, xulstore.json files from my profile directory. But each time I shut down Thunderbird and restart it, the same problem returns and I have to start over.
As this causes Thunderbird to lose all customizations to folder display, column displays, color badges, etc, and requires Thunderbird to download all message headers in my 6 email accounts, it's wasting a ton of my time.
All the accounts are still intact and it even says it's downloading email for each inbox on startup, I just can't see any of it because there's no folders displayed on the left side-bar.
And mind you, this was just a "upgrade"... when I tried to migrate my default profile to another computer (new workstation) it wouldn't load the proper profile without doing the -p flag on the executable and then after, has this same problem where it first displays proper accounts/folders but then on restart loses it all.
Luckily I found another users post online about deleting those internal cache/config files (for a completely unrelated problem with an older version of tbird) or I'd have been completely stuck.
Anyone have any suggestions on migrating BACK to the previous most stable build of pre "Supernova"? This thing isn't fully baked IMO.
And also, is there a better way to submit massive errors like this to the developers?

The problem is that after the download of the 115.01 version it has not been possible to register properly my "name"@arcor.de account with the email provider via imap.vodafonemail.de from Thunderbird . With imap.web.de there has been no problem. Strangely, it is possible to send emails via smtp.vodafonemail.de from Thunderbird although these sent emails are not shown neither in Thunderbird nor in the Vodafone email app. Incoming emails are properly shown in the Vodafone email app but not in Thunderbird.

Entering correct name, correct email address and password (also tried with no password) finds set up on Mozilla ISP sever. Select 'Done' brings up message "Cannot log in to server.Probably wrong configuration, username or password".

Thunderbird layout - how do i enlarge the classic view current message pane window? it's too short/compressed, and i can only drag it up a little, then it stops. In the prior TB versions, I only saw the last 3 or 4 messages in the upper message list portion of the classic view layout. Now I'm seeing almost 10 messages in my messages list. Meanwhile, the actual current message viewing pane is now horizontally compressed so that the ratio of message list to message view is closer to 40% message list, 60% actual message text plus the header info. I have tried click and drag the upper border of the current message being viewed, towards the top of the screen, but it stops, and still shows me 10 most recent messages in my list, which is really useless. I only need to see the last 3 or 4. The rest of the viewing pane should be more of the text area of the current message being viewed. Is there a "config editor" tweak to reduce the messages list to 3 or 4 messages, and increase the actual current message viewing area? Or some other fix for this?

I recently noticed an issue after waking my MAC Book M1 (2020) from several days of sleep. Upon opening the lid, I was met with a system warning about low memory. Further investigation revealed that ThunderBird was using over 100G of memory.
Just a few days ago, I had updated my MAC to Sonoma 14.0, and last week ThunderBird was updated to version 115.3.0. Both were significant version upgrades, and I'm unsure where the problem lies.
I haven't installed any additional extensions or plugins, as shown in the attached screenshot. However, I did notice some components listed in the debug information, and I'm not sure why there's an inconsistency.
I will continue to monitor this issue to see if it reoccurs. For now, I'm just reporting this as a single instance along with my system information, hoping it's an isolated case.

Thunderbird 115.0 (though also happened on 102), M2 macbook pro; OS up to date.
On AC & battery, thunderbird uses up huge amounts of power sporadically in its background activity, taking up ~50-80% of processor power & hundreds of gb virtual memory (see activity monitor screenshot attached). Computer gets pretty hot to touch with thunderbird on, which I don't see with other apps. Troubleshooting info below.
This has been happening for several months now, since I switched to thunderbird & was hoping it would resolve at 115. I can't find any correlation with other usage patterns of the computer (ie I dont think it's correlated with idle usage, but not willing to stage reputation on that).
