In Quantum, is there any way to auto show download panel popup when download start, like old firefox<57?

VERY Often time I am not aware of download starting, and downloaded multiple copies of some file. Then I have to delete them. Very annoying.

I don't want to be prompt about download location. Just want a more visible download notification instead of the sneaky blue arrow.

I have a unique and perplexing touchscreen issue using the latest Firefox browser on a 2017 Surface Pro (8/256) with the latest software and firmware updates.

When I add a new tab and subsequently try to delete that new tab, Firefox often freezes meaning that the browser does not feedback/refresh on my clicking (touching). HOWEVER when I force a browser refresh by clicking on any other window Firefox refreshes and acts on all the clicks I made while it was frozen. The clicks were processed by Firefox but it appears that the browser is not repainting after each click. To add insult to injury when I use a USB mouse this does not occur. Also I run identical Firefox on another desktop via mouse with no issues.

Certainly this seems to point to a Windows software issue but this issue does happen with any other apps including IE and Edge.

Among other things, actions I have tried include:

1. Run in safe mode 2. Re-install with new profile 3. Toggle many of recommended about:config settings 4. Change themes 5. Re-installed Windows touch screen driver

Below is my troubleshooting report.

Any ideas? Richard

Why are mozilla.com and mozilla.org blocked in the first place by Kaspersky, along with skype.com, dropbox.com, and update.microsoft.com?

I have read the support page about these types of error messages (SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER), and seen the two suggestions. I tried to update Kaspersky's certificate and I rebooted my computer, but that didn't work so the only other option is to tell Kaspersky to stop encrypting. But I really don't want to risk my security in doing that and I would like to get the value out of what I paid for when purchasing an antivirus like this. Plus, only a few websites like the ones I listed above are blocked by Kaspersky and Mozilla is included. So I would just like to know what is the reason for your website in specific being blocked and if it would be possible for you to do anything on your end to prevent future headaches on the part of Mozilla users. Because at the moment, I can't install any extensions onto Firefox and I can onto Chrome. That doesn't quite make sense to me.

Attached: Screenshots of list of inaccessible encrypted websites and of mozilla add-ons page ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=tab%20for%20a%20cause&platform=WINNT&appver=59.0.2 ) that can not be exempted.

      • After waiting 5 minutes, the screenshot was not uploaded; I will try again but for now I think I have explained the problem well enough.

I don't understand the mechanism why my preference file caused Firefox to gobble up almost all 8 Gig of my CPU ram memory. By deleting it, some reset was put in it's place with the default values. I have been updating Firefox on a regular basis, so why was this not taken care of sooner or why was I not notified of this 'clutter' in my preference file? After reset, my ram memory dropped to a little of 2 Gig. In both cases, Firefox was taking up the majority of the space. What was lost in this reset? If there was unnecessary duplification of data, etc., why was this not automatically deleted? What caused this problem in the first place?

Firefox 59.0.2 for a very long time downloads any websites after a long work of the computer. This problem is not observed with other applications that use the Internet. Checking the site speedest.net gives a ping of more than 200. The speed of the Internet is also significantly reduced. Immediately after restarting the computer, the problem is solved, but after a long time, it appears again. What I did: 1) I cleaned the cookies and browser cache; 2) I disabled the proxy; 3) I deleted and re-added Firefox to the Windows Firewall exceptions; 4) I created a new browser profile and tried to work in it; 5) I checked the computer for viruses, not a single one was found; 6) I disabled the Ip6 protocol in the browser settings; 7) I disabled all add-ons and ran the browser without them. None of these points in the end did not help. Again, this problem is not observed on other programs that use the Internet (Internet Explorer, Skype, Steam and others). Help with the solution of the problem.

Have started FireFox and the blank page shows up on startup. Have moved to Options and said Save current page as Home. It does not work.

How do I fix?

My Yahoo change may finally be working for my search engine with the update to 59.0.2. Also the Yahoo Search has only one purpose and that is to sell you something, not to search. As bad as Google is with it's barrage of adds in which it targets you from every product search you make, at least you get a great search.

Personally I like Yippy, but they don't seem to have preference files for integration for FireFox. It is not a through as Google, but I like the clustering of responses. It used to be called Clusty. When Google returns hundreds of thousands of responses, you can't really find anything.

As titled, I get an SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN error whenever I try and access google.com, either through the address bar typing in a search query, or when I type google.com etc. Here is the full error message:

www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.facebook.com, *.xx.fbcdn.net, *.fbsbx.com, *.xz.fbcdn.net, *.facebook.net, *.xy.fbcdn.net, *.messenger.com, fb.com, *.fbcdn.net, *.fb.com, *.m.facebook.com, messenger.com, facebook.com Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

I have disabled SSL scanning on my antivirus, my clock is correct (it is synced to time.microsoft.com online), and I have tried deleting my cert9.db file in case it is corrupt. It's still happening, as recent as a few moments ago.

Hi, For many months now, every 5th to 10th time I open a webpage, the content is partially not shown. The URL is shown, but below that, there are large parts missing of even a hole part of the screen. Renewing the page fixes the missing content. I have tried refreshing (resetting) Firefox 2 times, but the problem keeps occurring. At least 2 friends of mine have the same problem, so I don’t think that it is caused by one of my add-ons (since these friends use no add-ons) or my graphical card or something like that. I can only think of 2 causes of this problem: 1. An undetectable virus which spread amongst my friends through mail. 2. More likely: a fundamental problem with Firefox, since an update, many months ago. I have Firefox 59.0.2 on Windows 10 Professional version 1709, all Dutch versions. A friend of mine with the same problem has Windows 7 Home Premium and another friend has Windows 10 Home. They all update Firefox. I show an example of a missing content. I only blurred private information on the site. Renewing the page after this screenshot fixed the problem. With a friend of mine, it even occured with the google search page, but I add below an example that recently occured with me.

Hi all, A new problem which started recently and I haven't seemed to figure it out. When trying to login (username+password) to a specific site I'm working with, I get an error message saying that "The form's details are wrong. The page willreload". The page then reloads and goes back to loging screen only the rubrics are empty. Password and username are correct, loging in via Chrome (on the same computer) works just fine. In addition, Loging in on a different computer via Firefox works as well! So only this computer, and only on FF.... I have earased cookies \ cach \ temp files. I've also went and uninstalled FF and re-installed it. Deleted the profile (manually) and started a new one....tried verious boxes checked and uncheck in the privacy menu...No new add ons, or extensions. Nothing seems to work. This is so frustrating... I'm on Dell inspiron, Win 10, FF version 59.0.2 64 bit.

When I press the play button in Firefox Quantum 59.0.2 (64-bit) playback is not instigated. Nothing happens. This has been occurring since I updated to Quantum. I cannot see that there are any add-ons / plugins I require to make the iFrame play.

Image 1 below shows the black iFrame screen that accompanies the malfunction in Firefox.

Image 2 below shows the IFrame screen as it appears in Google Chrome (in which the video playback is functioning normally).

Please help?

Every few days or so (even if I have rebooted in between) Firefox error says connection is not secure and I cannot access any web page. The error says 'the owner of __________________ has configured their web site improperly .......' Some of the sites: facebook, microsoft, google, mozilla,

I have tried some of the solutions to previous questions: Clearing cache, restarting firefox, starting in safe mode with add ons disabled. I also tried disabling AVG, turning off firewall, resetting wireless adapter and none of those worked either. Once I reboot the PC, then everything is working (even without trying any of the above fixes and with firewall and AVG active) This all of a sudden appears and I'm not always on the same page when it happens.
