My operating system is Windows XP. After the last upgrade to Firefox 29.0, web pages began showing nbsp; through out including my home page. I never saw these until the latest upgrade. Internet searches indicate this indicates a space when the web page is developed but is not intended to be displayed. Why am I now seeing this on most web pages I visit? Is there a change or fix I can install to prohibit this from being displayed? Thanks

I'm using Firefox 32.0.3 on my Windows 8 (.1) PC. The problem I always face with Firefox on my Windows 8.1 machine is that Firefox displays text improperly, see the screenshots here: http://1drv.ms/1xCwgJ0.

It mostly happens in the bookmarks bar, menu, tabs and sometimes in the webpage. Actually, it can happen on any text elements. What's wrong? ClearType is turned on.

Operating system: OS X 10.9

Starting about four months ago, I began to see untitled and non-selectable windows spawning after my browser had been open for a while (i.e. after I visited a few sites). The number of these invisible windows grows over time, but are removed if I close the browser and start a new session. This has persisted through many new versions of Firefox.

I tried turning off all of the add-ons. Still happened.

I tried keeping track of what sites caused the problem. No correlation.

Today I uninstalled Firefox, using AppZapper -- which should have removed everything -- then did a new install. The only thing that I imported were bookmarks from the backup directory in my old Profile folder.

...and it's happening again. Here is a screen shot: http://imgur.com/ojcODd1

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

We are a company with Firefox 24 deployed to more than 2000 PCs. We have an Intranet app made with Silverlight working ok with this Firefox version. But now we want to update to Firefox 33 and testing it we've found that it doesn't work with the Silverlight app with big monitors. It seems to be related to the resolution of the monitor, or at least, to the size of the Firefox window. The problem is that the mouse pointer doesn't seem to be pointing where it is. It's better explained in this screencast, where you can see that in a 1024px Firefox window it works OK, but when it's 1920px it doesn't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DA9DLYc-vpE

We tried different versions of Silverlight, currently 5.1.30514.0 I don't know in which Firefox version it started to appear this bug. With Internet Explorer it works.

Any idea?

I have created many html files with the firefox function "save as Web Page, HTML only". 1. When I call up these files, firefox makes the PATH the tab title, but I would like to have the file name as tab title by default. 2. Same if I bookmark these files that the file name is displayed as tab title by default. I use tab utilities and am well aware of rename tab - I would like to have the file name as tab title by default - renaming thousands of html files is takes a lot of time. Thanks for your help!

I have an HP-i5 with Win 7 and use Firefox 35.0.5 exclusively. I recently encountered some problems with my homepage loading with blue text only on the left 2 inches of my monitor and put it in the shop. Some viruses were removed and FF 35.0 was installed.

Now my homepage and some bookmark pages load with a 2" vertical blank bar on each side of the page.

I can use zoom in on View or the - + zoom and increase zoom from 100% to 133% but this change is never permanent.

Trying to correct the problem I uninstalled FF 35.0 and installed FF 35.0.5 directly from the FF website. I also uninstalled the AVG virus protection program. None of this helped.

How do I get rid of these 2 inch vertical bars of blank space PERMANENTLY?

I have an HP laptop with an AMD cpu, Win 7, and Firefox 35.0.5 and it has never had this problem.

Under Windows 7 I select 1024 x 768 for screen resolution and 125% for text size.

The font size of the Tools > Options dialog is too small for me. I would like to change it to 11 pixels.

What codes should I add to userChrome.css?

Also, I would like to increase the default font sizes of the about:??? pages and the Help > Troubleshooting Information page, so that I don't need to zoom them.

On any site where there was an editing screen, the sprites disappeared (see screenshot). I checked Safari, and the sprites were all in place. So I made sure my FF installation was backed up, and I reset. When FF finally rebooted, the problem was gone, but of course all my add-ons and customizations were gone.

I found the 'old Firefox data' folder on my desktop, quit Firefox and replaced the new profile with the old one. When I opened Firefox, all the customizations were in place, but the sprites had disappeared again.

The idea of turning all extensions off and on to check to see which one is interfering is daunting. Is there a more direct way to pinpoint the source of the problem?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

This never happened to me in version 33. and I have scoured the message boards looking for others reporting this problem but can't find it so must be something with my system config but I don't know how to troubleshoot it. Running Windows 8.1, Kaspersky virus protection on a Dell Envy AMD A10 processor ... I like Firefox and don't want to stay on version 33 so any help is appreciated.

I have a mailbox account at Yahoo.com. When I look at it using the Firefox browser, I can't read what the icons are supposed to do, because the icons are replaced by cryptic indications. See the first image. [I'm not sure it's uploading properly; if not, take my word that I'm getting little boxes with letters like E055, E01B, and so on, instead of little envelopes and normal icons for menus.]

In the Chrome browser, the icons show up properly. This is shown in the second image [if there is a 2nd image]

Do I need to add something to use the Yahoo site?

Thanks, Neal J. King
