So I have been some issues with my Debian bookworm (Gnome bugged out) and changed to Sparky ( not a massive update I know, it's the same repo anyway) . Once Sparky Firefox upgraded to the latest version, I noticed some interesting behavior (tor running in the background and etc). I wasn't careful with playing gods with storage & cache, so had to again reinstall sparky. To my surprise my all passwords, bookmarks. add-ons are gone. I had just one account (was also using the dev browser for some time), so really it's awkward ad upsetting situation, any troubleshooting steps you can suggest?

Steps:

  • Open Linux server via VNC
  • Open Firefox
  • Search the term "test"

Issue:

  • The google result page doesn't fit into the window and has a horizontal scrollbar to see content on the right hand side

Note: I need my website to fit into browser properly at 100%(default) zoom itself for the purpose of automation because changing zoom level via selenium automation to press ctrl and minus 3 times causes unexpected behavior like even though value is filled in a textbox, it doesn't get sent in the API request payload. (Python 3.4.3, Selenium 3.12.0, GeckoDriver 0.31.0)

Versions:

  • Ubuntu 14.04.6
  • Firefox 91.13.0ESR
  • VNC: Tight VNC Viewer 2.8.63 OR Real VNC Viewer 6.22.515

Im working on a deployment package for Mozilla Firefox 106.0.1 when launching Firefox on a brand new user it automatically creates a shortuct for private browsing. Im looking for a way to disable this as the package im creating is an appv package and this new shortcut installs in users profile, so it won't be uninstalled. I have searched google but cant find any hits.

We have the following for customization: Application directory\defaults\pref: localsettings.js with these settings: pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); // only needed if you do not want to obscure the content with ROT-13 pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

Application directory\mozilla.cfg with these settings: // Don't show WhatsNew on first run after every update pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone","ignore");

// Don't show 'know your rights' on first run pref("browser.rights.3.shown", true);

// Disable Policy Notice on First Run pref("toolkit.telemetry.reportingpolicy.firstRun", false);

// Disable checkDefaultBrowser lockPref("browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser", false);

Application directory\distribution\policies.json with the following settings: {

 "policies": {
   "DisableAppUpdate": true,

"DontCheckDefaultBrowser": true } }

Windows 10: Automatic updates by GPO fails

Hi,

i'm running Firefox on +70 Windows 10 PCs in three labs in a university. I've applied a computer configuration GPO with AppAutoUpdate enabled, BackgroundAppUpdate enabled and DisableAppUpdate disabled to my PCs, but it looks like i don't get automatic updates. In my labs i see some workstations have Firefox 108.0.1, but most workstations still have Firefox 107.0.1...

As my users can switch between workstations and labs, this leads to the annoying 'older version' message box when a user worked on a PC which already got the update and later uses another PC which didn't get the update. The users are also forced to create a 'new' profile then, which is quite problematic because of the size of the roaming profiles.

Any hints?

We have configured Windows Single Sign On to Microsoft 365 in Firefox 102.6.0esr (64-Bit).

We have embedded a Video from the new Microsoft Stream on SharePoint Online into a SharePoint 2019 onpremise Site via the provided iFrame. Here every user gets an endless Login Loop (see Screenshot).

If you open the deeplink to the video, Single Sign On works perfectly.

And this also works in Microsoft Edge, why the Microsoft support is not willing to analyse this issue further.

Do you have any ideas how to narrow down the problem?

I am currently trying to configure a very old network switch that requires Java. I have tried using the Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) but i cannot seem to find or get the java plugin installed. I also tried downloading and installing firefox version 51.

What could i do to resolve this issue? I also tried using internet explorer but my computer refuses to install internet explorer because "it is already installed" even though it is not.

I work for the local County and we recently got a new content provider that allows for SSL Inspection (Barracuda 410) but it requires a certificate to be installed on every device to work. I am aware of Edge having a way to create a custom installer that would allow us to preinstall the proper certificate, but was wondering if Firefox had the same thing. I am also needing to know that if we push out the version of Firefox with the certificate preinstalled, would it auto import our user's data from their current install of standard Firefox?

I have seen many references to this problem that Mozilla does not seem to want to fix.

I have to log in to my (remote) server regulary using the server IP address - there is not a domain name.

Every time (cookies/history always cleared on exit) it presents the message "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead" and then have to click advanced then accept the risk. Under previous versions I use, this could be stored so you do not have to go thrugh this process EVERY time on logging in to the server.

Everyone knows you can NOT assign a security certificate to an IP address so why does Mozilla not take this into consideration?

Will they change this in future versions?

Is there a work around (no config changes seem to work or chrome changes)

Dear Team, Our application is accessible on Firefox v101.0.1. But recently we have upgraded our desktops with Firefox v112.0.1. The same application accessible on Firefox 101.0.1 is not able to accessible on v112.0.1.

The error code we could see on browser is SEC_ERROR+PKCS11_GENERAL_ERROR. We have already raised a case with HTTP support team but they have suggested to check at browser level. We had also collected traces from firefox but unable to upload the same. Kindly help here at the earliest. Thanks, Shruti Fegade

Good morning,

Can you please answer some questions regarding the Rapid Risk Assessment tool that is available at the following link:

https://infosec.mozilla.org/guidelines/risk/rapid_risk_assessment.html

1. Will any information input into the tool be hosted within the United Kingdom's Servers? 2. Can you please clarify if any information submitted to the RRA toll is retained on your Servers? 3. Is there the option to configure the tool so that no information submitted is retained after the session has terminated.

Kind Regards,

I figured out that Comcast hijacked all my Firefox bookmarks and moved them to their internet email platform. I still like and will always use Fire-Fox. I today removed all my bookmarks from the Comcast platform that were my Fire Fox bookmarks and only left their one and only email bookmark on Comcast platform. I can only assume this was a per-arranged maneuver and you were aware of this. I sure the long 4th weekend made time for a underhanded switch over for Comcast.
