Ive come back to firefox for android after a year of using other browser, bbut there is no setting i can find.

1, i visit a login page The page has the username but the password field is blank.

2, i select the link at bottom tbat says passwords.

3, a list pops up, and one of the listed items is to pick a saved password.

4, i pick the saved password, then all the urls are in the background while a thumprint security check is showing.

5, i put my thumb on the screen and now it lets me see all the saved passwords.

6, i select the correct url whos password is the right one.

7, it returns back to the original login page BLANK

It seams to me auto fill is switched on, but its not working, or the thumbnail security is blacking the transfer.

So ive deleted the url and password saved, there was only one, then ive gone to the login page and typed in the username and password, enter. Firefox asks if i wish to save the logon details, i do

But each time i go to the login page the password is blank?

I should add the url is a link to my network drives, so its an ip address like 192.168.x.xx

So ehy is android firefox no longer inserting the details, its the latest version, ive also cleared cache both, and it losds firefox as if its the first time i ran it. I set everything up to what i want, auto login is on.

I sign in with my account and sync brings back my desktop bookmarks saved logins etc.

Still there is only one url saved, ive seen this happen sometimes when thete is 2 saved logins for same url, but right now there is only one saved bookmark, and only one saved user name and password.

Anything i can do, or back to the browser i was using. Ive used the new android fitefox ever since it updated to the new one, most of the time it sat ln my phone unused, so i made sure jt had no update.

Sorry this is long, but ill be told to make sure the suto fill or auto login is on. Ive been through sll its settings.

Thanks

John

I have 3 separate sets of User IDs w. respective PWs email accounts. After I login to 1st ID, say User-1 & PW-1, --> Enter, the Firefox prompts: "Don't Update" ... "Update" options. Let's say I click --> "Update" option and later log off.

Next I login to 2nd ID, say User-2 & PW-2 --> Enter, again I get same two prompts "Don't Update" ... "Update". Then on it gets interesting .... ....

  • Case 1:- If I click --> "Don't Update," ... later log off. Next when I try login on using either of IDs, User-1 or User-2, Firefox will auto fill in --> PW-1 ... ... (bcoz I had opted --> "Don't Update").
  • Case 2:- Alternatively if I click --> "Update" and later log off. Next when I try login on using either of IDs, User-1 or User-2, Firefox will auto fill --> PW-2 (bcoz now I had opted --> Update" and therefore both IDs got inherited w. PW-2).

The same scenario is enacted if I login to 3rd ID --> User-3. Again depending upon what I click on "Don't Update" / "Update."

Eventually all 3 IDs would inherit just one of the three PWs. This happens whether the Firefox browser is on Mobile or Desktop mode. Lastly on other websites other than att.com login page, I get Save option after entering the PW.

I dont know how to get back to my original question. There was information i missed.

I said firfox would not auto login, but although i used ip addresses i didnt say that the auto login works on normal internet sites.

So to clarify, the problem started a while ago now, but badically i have 4 network drives, the username and password is saved for the login to those 4 drives.

Normally i eould click a link 192.168.X.X and the admin login page loads

On the android phone it shows nothing, both boxes are blank, but on the desktop the user name is filled in, and a drop down list shows just one password, i select it and login.

So the auto login is only failing on the local network login page, i cant see anything on the android phone except the password link button that takes me to the whole list of passwords, but like i said if i use my thumb to unlock and select the correct password it returns back to login page blank.

Ive just loaded desktop firefox and there is a warning that "connection not secure"

I dont see that warning on my android, so im guessing that the full web address to my network drive is https://192.168.x.x

So im guessing passwords are not available for secured sites?

It might be the WD NAS that has changed something, because i never had this problem on the phone or disktop, it was the phone im using mostly, in fact i can no longer use the phone this way, i gave up typing in usernames and passwords a long time ago.

So right now its quicker to turn on the laptop and access the 4 network drives.

So sorry if my information made you suspect something else. I know nothing about the change WD has done, i do know it use to put up a long code for the address, but thats gone now and in both desktop and android, it hides tge http or https so im never going to know whats going on.

So i was using android, i would select a bookmark to WD network drive and it use to put in all the information, all i did was click the login button .

So that stopped working, if i visit say ebay.co.uk i get automatically logged in, or if im asked then the correct details is already put in the boxes and i just clickogin.

So only my local network drives, and i do remember them updating the firmwear several times, during that time many strange things happend, for example the ip address was changed to a long length mix of numbers and letters, but they fixed that now.

Shame i cant upload a photo, i could link to one on the net?

Can you put this on the end of my last post as a reply? I coukd not find a way of updating

Thanks

John

Oh i just spotted add images, let me post this first as i dont want to loose it all

I'm using a Galaxy A13 5G and A13 4G and when I go to have Firefox save a password for an app after entering my credentials, it doesn't offer to save the credentials. It will prompt me to enter my phone's PIN when I select a username and password field in an app, but it doesn't do anything. The password manager works most of the time with the browser though.

Really would like this fixed since I prefer to use firefox's password manager.

Round and round and round we go . . . When I try to follow the instructions to enable this feature, all I get is a full page message that says "To save and autofill logins and passwords, enable Face ID, Touch ID or a device passcode." With a link to "Learn More" If I click that link, it simply returns me to the same "Manage saved passwords..." page I was using already. Without explaining what's going on!

I was waiting for the address autofill feature to be implemented in Firefox for a long time and finally it's here. But why is it not available yet for my Huawei Mate 20X, but it's available for my other phone?

Also, Why is the address autofill only works for Canada and USA? When are you going to include other countries?

New iPhone 14 pro - Moved everything over from the old phone - Signed into Firefox and synced - All bookmarks are present - The option to use saved login information from FF is present - The websites where I have saved logins are all present and listed in the same order as my desktop (desktop version works fine btw)

The problem is that the usernames and passwords are not present for any of the websites. They are just blank when I try to use it directly from a login screen. (pic#1) I can select the website from the list and FF recognizes and recommends the correct website’s “info”, but when I tap it it just autofills blanks.

If I access passwords from the menu options while I am not trying to login to a specific website, I can see the same correct list of websites with saved info, but it says “no username” for all of them and the passwords are blank. (pic#2&3)

I've been using Firefox as my primary password manager ever since it became a feature in the browser. Unfortunately I recently had to switch to a different password manager, one that supports family profiles & certain other features that Firefox doesn't. Now when I am about to login to a site using Firefox for Android I keep getting duplicate suggested logins prompts, one from Firefox & one from my new password manager.

I went in to Firefox on my desktop (there doesn't seem to be a way to bulk delete saved logins in Firefox for Android) and deleted all of my saved logins, then synced accordingly & synced on Firefox for Android as well, also being sure to disable all settings under Logins & Passwords in Firefox for Android. Unfortunately "suggest logins" isn't an option you can enable/disable in Firefox for Android presently. However as I'm continuing to use the browser on my phone, it still pops up the suggested logins prompt at the bottom of every login page.

This has grown into quite the annoyance for me, I must admit. Can you please inform me how to permanently disable the suggested logins prompt in Firefox for Android moving forward? Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Hello. I'm Android Developer at Nord Security @NordPass password manager. I just wanted to ask about credit card autofill on Firefox Android browser. As far as I understand, it's not possible at the moment. Do you have any plans on making it possible? Or maybe there are any settings that need to be set before autofilling? I'm not talking about internal Firefox password manager solution, but about autofilling Credit Cards using another password manager such as 1Password, LastPass, NordPass etc.

Thanks in advance :) Zilvinas
