I believe crashes are from an add-on (Shockwave Flash) that I added yesterday. It kept crashing repeatedly, even after a fresh install. I found that if I don't sign in to my Firefox account, the browser opens fine and all of my bookmarks are there. I had also installed the Theme and Font Size Changer add-on a couple of days ago and experienced no issues with that one. I have disabled Shockwave Flash and the Theme and Font Size Changer add-on does not appear in my list of add-ons.

If I do sign in to my Firefox account, the browser opens and works for a few minutes, then suddenly the get add-on page for the Theme and Font Size Changer appears and Firefox immediately crashes.

I think I need to delete my Firefox account but I'm afraid that if I do so I will lose my bookmarks and settings in Firefox. Can anyone advise what I need to do? As I said, Firefox works okay as long as I don't sign in.

This is more of a stalking situation. The person did have access to my laptop when we were dating but now has none but is still able to tell me what I am looking at in the browser. I have disabled sync as far as I can tell but this is getting out of hand and as I am pursuing legal action against the person I would greatly like to know how to keep the browser and secure it completely.

Hello. I followed lots of forum posts with information on how to restore a .js session, and I've done this long ago. I must be doing something wrong but I renamed "upgrade.js-20160315153207" to sessionstore.js and moved it to my profile folder. Firefox won't load this .js file. I looked at the file and see all my url's in there so I know it's there. I tried following my threads including this one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1012716

I have firefox version 44.0.2. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

If I go to YouTube using Safari, no problem. I can play the videos without a hitch.

How can I fix this? I LIKE Firefox and would prefer to continue using it.

Thanks, Duncan

big problem STILL with yahoo toolbar, ironically, solved it on my windows based computer, but i see now with ff44 it is not woring and no matter how many times i go to mozilla firefox addons and try to install, it pops up with verifying and then never can I get to hit the install button next to it as it just keeps on verifying ...on and on, and i am very frustrated, I need to make my yahoo toolbar work as i have many quick icons to do things, and i use it in my windows based but also need it in my macbook too. please tell me something new, already tried the about config turn from true to false ( as listed in other mozilla forums for fixing/in past, the yahoo toolbar) I will hope to hear from someone soon.

After clicking a link for a pdf file I was only given the option to download it, I've always had pdfs set to automatically open in Adobe. I went into the "Applications" tab under Preferences and realized it was blank, I had no option to change settings for any content type. What would cause this to happen and how do I get all my applications back? I'm running on Firefox 44.0.2 and my OS is Windows 10

I don't know if my system was compromised and information stolen or if I have caused this problem but i have not found any solution. Help me please: a) I need to know if the info was stolen, or compromised somehow, so I can start protective or corrective measures if needed. b) If this is the result of an error I've made, can I correct it? If so, how?

I've attached my about:config file saved as xul format. And I've clicked the share data link.

  • Note:edit-The attachment didn't. I can't seem to get it to. But I have saved a copy, it also wouldn't let me print the page so I couldn't get a supported image file type.

Today Feb15th after prompting I chose to upgrade my firefox browser. However on starting up the new version, to my dismay, my bookmarks have disappeared (I had a lot) and my web browser history. After some research Mozilla states that bookmarks and web history is stored in the file places.sqlite file. How do I recover bookmarks and history from this file? My places.sqlite file is over 10 Mb in size which suggests to me that info is inside it. I'd be grateful for any and all assistance.

When I go to the website "login.sheridanc.on.ca" sheridan college email I get the message "Your connection is not secure" I then go to "advanced" then "add exception.." and uncheck "permanently store this exception " I then can access the web site. But when I close and reopen the browser I expect that I should get the same error message "Your connection is not secure" since I have not saved the exception but the site login.sheridanc.on.ca works with no not secure error. Can anyone tell me why?

Firefox 44.0.2 has started crashing every time I go to many specific websites. Others are reliably AOK.

Just for example http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx? Item=N82E16835233101 and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/149697266X reliably crash. The New Tab page did too until I disabled it in about:config.

Even in FF Safe Mode (from cmd line, Restart menu item doesn't work, nor does Add-on restart, they just shut down). Even with a new Clean Profile.

I get no Mozilla Cash Reporter window and about:crashes shows nothing.

However, no crashes in Windows (XP Pro sp2) Safe Mode.

But I can't see any running processes that relate to FF, and the crashes occur even when I turn off Comodo Free Firewall and Norton Antivirus. Nothing appears in Windows Event Viewer.

I tried Installing a fresh downloaded FF44.0.2 I tried SFC /SCANNOW

I have not tried a full Revo Uninstall then reinstall (hoping not to since I have carpal tunnel).

(A Refresh holds no interest, as it preserves nothing I care about, so I'd skip that and do a clean install if it comes to that.)

Malware scans are clean with Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware.

Much of the above is thanks to working carefully through http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_crashes and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help

I thought it might be a couple Addon updates, but neither removing those addons or FF Safe Mode helped.

I don't have Nvidia NAM or other listed problematic software.

I had one out-of-date Plugin (Silverlight); but Revo Uninstalling Silverlight 4 (and it's 31299 registry entries) didn't help, nor did installing the latest Silverlight 5.1.30514.0 (which FF "Check Your Plugins" calls "outdated".

It works fine for maybe 2 hours and then it stops loading any website. My other browsers still work. I have to force quit Firefox to get it to load pages again. It stops responding when I just quit the app so I have to force quit it. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps: Changing proxy, enabling/disabling firewall etc. but none of it seem to work. It's really annoying at this point! Any help?

Heavy flickering while resizing the window. Not good for folks with epilepsy problems - it's that bad.

Does NOT happen while Firefox is in safe mode, but DOES happen after a "Reset Firefox", which should essentially do the same thing but permanently. It happens on every website, including about:x pages. My video drivers are reasonably up-to-date, Windows is fully up-to-date, and so is Firefox, the addons, my virusscanner, and basically everything. Firefox did not show this flickering in previous versions.

I get this error everytime i try access www.gamestop.com. I have tried clearing cookies, cache, safe mode, firefox, chrome, IE, ive tried on 2 phones 2 computers and a tablet. Same issue, i can access the mobile site, but not the desktop on any of those devices. I tried alot of trouble shooting things before i got here this is kind of last resort of sorts. I called gamestop they said at first its a serverside error not my fault than they could access the site and told me its on my side, ive done everything short of completely uninstalling firefox, which i guess ill try next if all else fails.

Firefox 44.0.2 seems to have a memory leakage problem on my Windows System 7 OS at current rev. Firefox crashed this morning when the memory exceeded 3.4 GB and a crash report was submitted. I then ran a simple test by bringing up a pair of web pages on Firefox and Google Chrome (same pages) with no activity on either browser after bringing up the webpages. An hour later the memory had substantially increased for Firefox (842,489 K - 1 process) and was continuing to increase while memory remained reasonably constant for Chrome (138,952 K - 4 processes).

You must remove this 'https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data' because hackers are misusing this information to send virus in that location and changes search engine and locks it as a administrator. I unfortunity don't have any proof but I am so sure because as per Anti-malware bytes caught it at the same folder '..../mozilla..../../profiles.../ where it was attacking. Please see to it.
