My laptop needed a refresh and all data needed to be erased. Thinking Firefox has synced all my bookmarks and settings I happily reset my laptop but now I just installed Firefox again and logged in but there is no settings, no bookmark! What happened to the bookmarks? Is syncing really reliable?

Hi,

I'm using Firefox for all my devices. I activated synchronization of all items from all devices. But the History is not synchronized between devices. Meaning, from my Windows Firefox, I'm not able to see the history from my Android device, and vis versa.

I'm using last versions of FF from all my devices (I always update to last version when one is available).

Is there something I'm missing?

Many thanks for your help.

Best regards,

My mobile bookmarks have gone missing. I think the reason is that I bought a new iPad and transferred everything over to the new one automatically using the Apple transfer feature. My bookmarks made it over to the new iPad, but the mobile ones did not...and were then gone from my old iPad as well.

One clue: on the new iPad, the folder at the top is now called 'desktop bookmarks.' Anyway, all of the advice about mobile bookmarks on this site entails navigating to the profile on a desktop for a prior version...which is not possible on an iPad. Help getting the bookmarks back would be most welcome!

The instructions on the screen (see attachment) bear no relationship to what appears in Firefox on my iphone - Sign in to Synchronise is not in the menu So I can't find "ready to scan".

If I scan with the scanner in the Firefox top corner I get told I must pair from within the App - where I thought I was.

I tried Manual Sync as per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sync-logins-firefox-ios but again screen didn't look like that (see what I was supposed to see attached) - account name not at top - I was signed in - and no sync circle.

Baffled and frustrated.

Used to work beautifully.

At almost 78 with active cancer technology is now way past me. Have a great day. Thanks a bunch for your response. For some reason, desktop FF keeps asking for syncing with mobile when I'm pretty sure it is, as I can still use some feature, though some dont work like sending tabs. So when I go to firefox on mobile, making a new tab and using the camera to scan the QR code. It doesn't work. When I tried it a few days ago, it told me something went wrong, and now it says that I'm using my iOS camera app instead of the FF app. Hopefully I explained it well.

I recently got new samsung tablet s6 . I am logged into successfully to synchronize and see my bookmarks. Problem is I can't save new bookmarks on tablet. I found article about write protected file but those directions are not available on the tablet/android version of Firefox.

Less important 2nd question is...should the collections from my phone and pc show up on tablet? I do not see them. Would so much like to see them

I have tried to reinstall the application, but it doesn't seem to work. Whenever I start again to sync my account in Firefox for iOS it begins to stop unexpectedly; after 2 to 3 seconds that I reopen the browser, it asks if I want to restore the previous (empty) session and then - without any input from me - it crashes again. I've tried everything, but seems that nothing works after syncronization. Present configuration: iOS 16.1.1 iPhone 13 firefox for iOS: version 107.2

I want to sync my new laptop to Firefox on my Android mobile. I am asked to:

1. Open Firefox on your mobile device. 2. Go to the menu ( on iOS or on Android) and tap Synchronise and save data 3. Tap Ready to Scan and hold your phone over this code

But this command #3 is simply is not there in the Android FF settings. I see only Synchronise Now/ Device Name / Sign Out, plus Choose What to Synchronise. Nothing else. Any ideas?

Is there a way yet to sync collections across mobile devices? I saw a few threads from a couple years ago or more where it's mentioned they may work on one. Another comment says they can't be synced to desktop. Has there been an update to enable it across phones in the last couple years though?
