Hi there,

Using up to date Firefox on a Mac, London UK. Recently returned from travel in Japan. The bank cards auto-fill stopped working & Auto-fill does not appear in Privacy Settings (it is not there – no need to request a check please:)?

Spent 2 hours on Mozilla support/community etc. No answers – including 'make a new profile'...(& why - won' that affect history etc)?

Would be very grateful for any help please?

I get dozens of emails stating, "It looks like you're using plain-text email" or something to that effect. I see this message when I merely highlight the email in the list but without opening the email by clicking on the list entry. "Allow remote content" is set to off.

How do they know?

I've created the App password on https://account.live.com/proofs/AppPassword In Thunderbird I create a new account and I enter my hotmail.com email and the created password

The password is not accepted.

I search here for help but it seems not to work in the described way

I was horrified to receive an e-mail from mail.com, telling me that my e-mail service would effectively be withdrawn in about 3 weeks unless I upgraded TLS 1.0 to TLS 1.1. I barely understand what that means but I have done my best to comply, short of buying a new computer. I have queried the usual sources, which tell me that if I upgrade Thunderbird to the latest version all will be well, so I tried to implement some of the often contradictory advice offered - to no avail. When I started, About Thunderbird informed me that I was running version 68.10.0 (64- bit). After trying all that I could understand, About Thunderbird tells me that my Linux 18.3 (Sylvia) computer is still running version 68.10.0 (64- bit). I suppose that's a bit better than screwing the whole thing up - but not a lot. My update 'shield' icon continues to show a green tick and assures me that my system is up to date. I appear to have disappeared up my own tail pipe. If some kind soul would explain how I can extricate myself from this impasse I would be exceedingly grateful.

Firefox 125.0.1 update breaks all self signed certificates

After the latest auto update I can no longer access any of my management screens on my private network with self signed certificates. This is a real problem. I have attached a couple error screen grabs, but ALL of themn are the same. The information link says there is no workaround!

So how do I recover access? Chrome works just fine ... so it is def. a Firefox problem.

I added a few sites I frequently visit, such as banks, credit card company Google, to the exceptions list in Cookies And Site Data. When my version of Firefox was recently updated to 102.0.1, a few of those sites began asking for additional authentication because they didn't recognize my computer. So I added the recommended add-on, Cookie Quick Manager. and listed those sites as protected. This worked for a few days but Google and my credit card company again don't recognize my computer. I am not using a VPN.

Instead of showing the embedded link, it displayed as html. So, I can't read what was sent. Or it's hard to pick out the link.

Hi, Recently purchased new laptop with Win 11. I was having trouble downloading anything. Always indicated failure.

I checked some of the responses here for that problem. One of them said to not accept HTTPS only. When I checked my settings, it WAS already set to Don't enable HTTPS-Only Mode. I then set the HTTPS-Only mode to Only in private windows. That setting now allows downloads. Why doesn't it allow downloads when I don't accept HTTPS only?

I have an old Yahoo account that was transferred from Verizon decades ago. I can pop email from my other two computers that I have Thunderbird set up on just fine. I transferred the profile from my other computer so I have all three accounts setup. Yahoo repeated tells me that the correct password that works fine on the other two computers is invalid. I call Yahoo support and they send me back to Thunderbird and, if I remember correctly, the last time I tried to do this, both sides kept pointing their finger at the other.

In Thunderbird 1153.1 (MacOS), it appears that the "Delete" button next to the header information on a message whose content display is blocked per privacy settings is applied not to that individual message but rather to the folder containing it. There's (fortunately!!) a confirmation dialog warning that that entire folder would be deleted unrecoverably, but it seems non-intuitive and dangerous that the button's scope should change depending on the content display status. When the content is displayable, the button applies only to the individual message, as I'd expect.

I don't mean "saving" login information for later use, that I do not want to do. What I mean by the login not being retained is that when I log-in to a website like say Amazon, while I'm browsing, I end up having to re-enter my login information pretty much every other time that I switch between pages. I've never had an issue like that with any other browser. Is there some setting I need to adjust to stop that from happening? As I said, I'm not looking to save my passwords and usernames within the browser, I just want to effectively browse a website after logging into it without needing to login every time I move between pages. I've been using Firefox browser for Facebook and other online purposes for several years. Over much of that time I periodically (several times per week, minimum) get a small pop-up box, usually while I'm on Facebook, which is headed "Apple wants to make changes. Enter your password" The "USERNAME" box shows only my first name, John, (which is my admin password for the laptop) and the "PASSWORD" box is empty. No indication of what changes Apple wants to make, so I've never put my password in, and when I hit "cancel" I have to cancel three times before it goes away, only to show up sometimes within minutes, or sometimes days. Until today I'd not been able to get a diagnosis from Apple, but their help person, after a screen-sharing session today said it doesn't come from Apple and she suggested I contact Firefox Support and ask about it. So I'm asking. The screen shot below shows what it looks like, although I closed Firefox before i took this screen shot, just to see if the box would remain, and obviously, it did. Suggestions for Firefox for Android

Since the built-in password manager is not good enough in terms of security and functionality, (and I don't think it will be good enough for the foreseeable future), it would actually be a good idea to build an app instead of the built-in one, or to choose a third party app as a partner as an official recommendation, and so forth.

I find the browser's ad-blocking features to be very unorganized, repetitive, and not easy to use. I wish you could build a comprehensive enough and personalized built-in pan-ad blocker.

And please allow the beta version's custom "add-ons collection" to be added to the official version

Anyway, there are many problems and many solutions, I hope Firefox will be better and better.

When I go to my bank's login site, I get a message saying that I need a newer browser. I have the latest version of Firefox, and I used to be able to log in just fine, but I recently reset my browser and I seem to have lost some settings. I have tried adding an exception for this site's cookies in Settings, and I've also tried turning off enhanced tracker, but the site still doesn't work. Is there a way to tell what is broken and then fix it? Thank you.
