Sites like https://1337x.to use some sneaky way to show pop ups. How can I get rid of these pop ups perhaps through and add on. Can this be build into Firefox in future releases?

Hello team firefox!

I'm building my own webpage, where some videos are played (with scenes, so there will be a back and next button). When i embeed a video with the controlls, everything works. But: as soon as i turn on fullscreenmode (which the videos are played in normally), my two next and back buttons dissapeer (behind the video ofc).

So my questions to you: could you please send me your video control html, css and js? Would be reaaaly cool of you!

I posted this question earlier today:

I have been exclusively using Firefox forever and happy with it until a friend said "Hey, try this" and tacked duckduckgo on top of it - and I'm sure it does a great job - but I have since then noticed some browsing oddities relative to Firefox pre-duckduckgo and I want to remove it that I may compare before and after performances.
But I can't find it anywhere and as I am allergic to, and highly suspicious of, anything I can't track down and remove from my system if I so desire, I REALLY want it gone, at least until I find out more about its characteristics.

So question #1 = is it really that useful, and #2 = how do I remove it regardless? And this is the answer I got: The Browser has no choice on which site you use as homepage. To which I clicked on NO to was this answer useful and tried to follow up with this: Thank you, but this... The Browser has no choice on which site you use as homepage. ...means nothing to me and is of zero help. I used to browse with Firefox and now I am stuck with search with duckduckgo... instead, and I want it gone. But this just went straight into Answers. So let me reiterate: How do I get rid of duckduckgo? Thank you.

When trying to load my personal Nextcloud instance, I receive the error in the title. I have tested the site every way I can think of, but the site's security is fine. The site loads fine in Chrome and on the Android version of Firefox. When using chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul , I received the error "This site attempts to identify itself with invalid information." Only problem is, after looking through the cert, I can't find anything that's invalid. I have attached everything I can think of that's relevant.

I have tried a new profile (same error), Safe Mode (same error), disabling security.ssl.enable_ocsp_stapling in about:config, disabling my antimalware (Windows Defender), and refreshing Firefox. I don't know what else I can do to try and fix this.

A very simple question. I have searched on and off for the past couple weeks or so, whenever I get some time at work to waste on this. I have already gone through the pain of having to search online for how to disable auto-updates, since Firefox seems to be going in the opposite direction of intuition (the very reason I switched to it years ago), and I have found the about:config -- app.update.service.enabled = false.... also app.update.silent = false..... also app.update.auto = false.

What does a guy gotta do, short of leaving Firefox, which I don't hope to do, to just.... use.... a browser without any updates until *I* want to update it?

If this is not possible, this will be the end of Firefox for me (as well as all the boasting of it that I used to do).

Thanks, -justwannabrowseinternetonmyterms

Will Saved Password Editor ever work again?

The Saved Password Editor (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/saved-password-editor/) was an excellent extension and highly useful extension, rendered inoperative by Quantum. While some people may think that this extension is no longer needed because of the built-in editor (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1186297) this is incorrect for a number of reasons:

  • Some website don't capture the login information and there is no way to manually enter the information: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1234322. Editing some json file is a ridiculous suggestion.
  • It annoying to navigate to the built-in editor and recently FF moved the "saved logins..." button down about:preferences#privacy so you now have to scroll in addition to clicking. Note: bookmarking chrome://passwordmgr/content/passwordManager.xul is handy, but doesn't solve the other problems.
  • The built-in editor does not allow editing the website URL or duplicating a login.
  • All of this make it impossible to use the built-in password editor to save things like PINs or answers to secret questions, all of which was very easy with the Saved Password Editor extension.

So will Firefox ever enable the Saved Password Editor to work again? The add-on page says that the extension needs a WebExtensions API. Will Firefox ever have one of those again? If the functionality was added into the build-in password manager, that would be good, too. Thank you.

Dear Firefox,

Since the most recent update I am experiencing problems in being able to save pictures. I find an image in Google Image Search, click on it and go to save .... however it does not save. The process even prompts me to select the folder I want it saved in, the name I want to give the file and so on. I do all of these things - but there is no picture there when I go to the folder. I have tried saving to different folders but no luck. This does not happen in all cases, only on some pictures.

I find the only way i can save the picture is to click on View Image and then prompt it to save. However as my work involves finding lots of images online, this is adding several steps to the process. It is also annoying when I have to save 50+ pictures and then go back and find that maybe half-a-dozen or so are not there

I am not going to do any digging. I type way to slow. Its why i haven't transitioned to linux. Just put the option to put tabs back on the bottom. It was available for a long time, then some smart asses thought changing it "made more sense" it doesn't. I also hate that all my history and bookmarks simply disappeared into the chrome disaster firefox has become. I use palemoon because huh huh it can still put tabs on the bottom.

Simply, there is no security reason to not have tabs AVAILABLE to be on the bottom-where they belong. I would also suggest letting me clutter my screen with all the stuff that was once just a matter of how the GUI is presented and not a security issue.

I refuse to go back to Firefox because you have made it less user friendly and haven't fixed it in 5 years!
