Hello, I recently downloaded Firefox and transferred all my data from Chrome to Firefox. Everything transferred well and for a day all my bookmarks were visible at the top of the page. Then I turned off bookmarks to only show on a new tab, and then later realized that the bookmarks were not being displayed on the new tab. And even when I turned bookmarks to always show on all tabs the bar is there but nothing is displayed. All my bookmarks are still in the Firefox Library and I can save new bookmarks to the library, but the bookmarks bar above still remains empty. Clicking Import and Backup in the Library and clicking Restore hasn't returned the bookmarks to the bookmarks bar. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Help! I just installed the latest Firefox 120.0 and I have a huge problem:

I work a lot with the address bar. I type a few characters and choose a URL from my history that I need to work with, then modify that URL by typing or pasting, to get the address I need. Now, I can't do that. Either I accept the full URL suggested or I must type a completely new one. That's a huge obstacle for me. I absolutely need to work with, i.e. select and modify, URLs that I have previously visited.

Please tell me there is a way to do this!

Hi. I've used Firefox as my main web browser on desktop computers for over a year now, and it's so far been the best web browser I've used.... except for one issue when it comes to major updates to the app.

I have Firefox set to open up on the tab/site I was using before I end a session and close the app. Whenever there is a new major version release, the update gets installed the next time the browser is launched before showing the browser window. But, when the window opens back up, I'm not sent back to the site/tab I was previously using. A new tab automatically opens up to a Mozilla page saying that Firefox has updated, along with a large promotion for another Mozilla service.

I then need to manually close this new tab, and find the tab I was previously using during the last session before the auto-update. This is mildly irritating since it takes some control away over how I want Firefox to start up, and the new update tabs seem to just be used as a way to promote other Mozilla products seeing how the actual "Firefox has updated" text is very small.

Is there a way to turn off these automatic new tabs after every major auto-update? Or if there isn't, could an option to change the way Firefox notifies about updates be added in a future version, such as using the OS' notification option instead of opening a new tab?

Currently running the latest version of Firefox on an iMac, with Mac OS Sonoma.

I have Firefox as my browser on my laptop. Today I have been getting numerous pop-up messages from McAfee (which I do not have- I use a different web defense app) saying I need to renew my subscription or virus detected. Nothing I do gets rid of these pop-ups, which keep coming back (see example below) . How can I stop this from occurring? HELP!!

1. When I set "NEVER REMEMBER HISTORY" Firefox create an initial INVALID INITIAL http request.

GET /lipsum.html undefined <--------------------- HERE Host: myhost.com User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:120.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/120.0 Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,image/avif,image/webp,*/*;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-US,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, br DNT: 1 Sec-GPC: 1 Upgrade-Insecure-Requests: 1 Connection: keep-alive Sec-Fetch-Dest: document Sec-Fetch-Mode: navigate Sec-Fetch-Site: none Sec-Fetch-User: ?1 Pragma: no-cache Cache-Control: no-cache

3. This causes a NS_ERROR_NET_TIMEOUT_EXTERNAL

4. Firefox then immediately issues a 2nd HTTP Request, this time correctly.

GET /lipsum.html HTTP/1.1 <---------------------------- Host: myhost.com User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:120.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/120.0 Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,image/avif,image/webp,*/*;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-US,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate DNT: 1 Sec-GPC: 1 Connection: keep-alive Upgrade-Insecure-Requests: 1 Pragma: no-cache Cache-Control: no-cache

I have a video of the behavior and a simple HTML file to test with. I can't upload either.

I can't seem to access one website that I used to visit daily: www.leftwinglock.com

I have no issue with any other site that I visit daily, and my co-workers are able to access that site so it is not down.

Is there something in my settings that is preventing me from viewing this site now?

Thanks.
