what is the exact step-by-step process to download and install Mozilla Thunderbird on a Linux mint computer? I have the download from Thunderbird extracted to a directory one off the root? I am not good with Unix terminology. I do not know what file I have to execute or if at the command line, what code to install the program.

One of my cabinet folders is missing emails and a sub-folder that exist in my Fastmail account. These missing items are on both the windows and macOS versions I have installed. Please advise on how to to repair. Thanks.

Dear Folks at Firefox, Mozilla

In last few days I really have a big problem with trying to browse with my favorite browser Firefox. It is that cursor always goes to address bar instead of search bar when I am trying to surf the web. I tried all the fixes that I found online with changing things in about:config still with no solution.

I am running on Windos 11 and using latest Firefox version.

bold text When Fox News has a new article and I click on it to read, I now get a 500 Error over a blank page. Is there a way to correct this? It has never happened before and only seems to have appeared in the last update of last week.

I need to have a telecon from the provider meet.goto.com using Firefox on my PC running Linux Mint mint-001-1.0 147.0.1 (64 bit) but I get an error message browser not supported. What can I do? Thanks

I became a THunderbird user recently to help me transfer e-mails from one system (e-mails sent to my e-mail address being collected by Gmail using POP3) - I have a gmail.com address too which shows all the e-mails in the same Inbox. Google are withdrawing support for Pop3. I am moving to Hostinger which happily collects and displays all my emails on its Webmail service. Thunderbird is a great tool for moving e-mails fro Inbox (and al other folders) from the Gmail to Hostinger. But yesterday it crashed and wouldn't restart = white windows says at the top 'not responding = and Windows Task Manager shows me Thunderbird still seems to be talking to one of my accounts and has 6 other tasks open. I stopped those tasks and closed Task Manager. I have uninstalled and re-installed but it comes back with the same symptoms and same tasks running. How do I stop this and get it back properly again

Starting about a week or two ago, I noticed the text of Firefox is grainy. But when the cursor moved, it would get grainy in a different way. So, some letters which were previously unreadable became readable, but other letters became unreadable.

Going to the same web pages with other browsers renders the page readable. So, the problem seems to be Firefox specific.

Even while typing this, portions of the characters on my screen blink in and out.

If there is no solution, I will have to utilize some other browser.

I appear to have my bookmarks duplicated. Bookmark Menu list of bookmarks, bookmark 1

                                                           bookmark 3 etc
                                                           ........
                                                           bookmark 1
                                                           bookmark 2
                                                           bookmark 3 etc

At a glance, the repeated bookmarks are the same, but I could have filed a new bookmark in either set. What can I do to stop these duplicates?

Windows 11 Firefox crashed on opening continuously so unable to safe open etc. Did update intel graphics to no avail. Uninstalled in add programs in settings. Did not choose to delete data. Reinstalled and now can't find my profile.

I've been searching for three days now for a solution that will work to restore my profile from a crashed windows-7 machine to my new windows-11. Nothing listed in any forum or help desk works as described. I used to be able to just rename the folder to the exact file name on the new PC, but windows 11 won't let me do anything. It always needs admin permissions and even after I activated the admin account and assigned a password, I still cannot copy to the folder or rename the folder. Every attempt to do this on W-11 fails. It shouldn't be that hard and I'm tired of wasting days playing with this. I have important bookmarks, passwords etc. I want restored, and I need help. Nobody wants to pick up a phone anymore to assist!

I have never used "sync" because I have multiple PCs and each used for different applications and yes some go back to W-7, the operating system that actually worked well. Each PC has Firefox and a distinct bookmark file.

I went to "about:profiles" and created a new profile thinking I could copy to the new folder, but when i switched profiles I couldn't get back to the original default! HELP!
