Every time I launch Firefox it creates 12-13 instances of Firefox along with one each for Chrome and Console.

I don't need that many instances. Typically I have no more than 3-4 tabs open.

Is there a Configuration setting that I can change to reduce the number of instances to 5 and greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to launch.

I am running Windows 10 Pro V21H2 at current update level. I have a custom made tower with 512GB SSD and a Core2 Duo processing running at 2.93 GHz with 8 GB Ram. Firefox is V17.0.1.

I'm highly suspicious of an extensions i downloaded a while ago. It has blocked facebook from tracking me as some websites i access automatically uses Facebook. When I checked the manager to make an exception for a website I was using, I don't see it there, not even to disable it. I even double checked if my only blocker, UBlock Origin is preventing it from showing but it's not even there either. So now I'm worried my data is compromised.

I take this to be a best practice to not use more than one vpn at a time. Should those visiting and be given access to network be asked to turn off theirs if connected to same network setup? Should any extensions intended to sync favorites or 'read later' be turns off as well?

Podcasts from Vox news won't play at all. No problem with MS Edge. This is not a new problem.

Again and again I see 'This page is slowing your browser'. Then I have to close the page.

Problem: different areas of the same domain requires unique passwords. eg example.com/admin1/ user: name example.com/admin2/ user: name

The user name is the same for both, are fixed and cannot be changed.

When I log in to admin1/ but then need to log in to admin2/ Firefox thinks I am updating my password used in admin1/ .

I have read question 1280159 (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1280159) which only partially solves it IF the user name can be modified.

How can i solved this without accidentally losing my password/s ?

A few months ago, Thunderbird started taking 20 to 30 seconds to check the mail in my main account. I have identical settings (except for the email address portion preceding "@") on a secondary account, which takes only two or three seconds to check email, as always. I had about 25,000 messages in the main account inbox. I moved the oldest half of them to a local folder and compacted the Inbox. As expected, that had no effect. I have let my inbox grow to over 50,000 messages before the slowdown occurred. I'm using POP3, Port 995, SSL/TLS, leaving messages on server, authentication method Normal Password. I'm specifying the server by its actual box name, not with "mail" in the name. Automatically download new messages is checked. I tried to get help from my ISP (Bluehost) but as usual they were useless. TSR tried to get me to change the setting to IMAP. I have read about how that setting makes things slower. And that shouldn't fix anything since, again, both accounts have identical settings except for the email address. Whatever logs or whatever the TSR looked at, did not reveal any issue to him.
