Hi jscher2000, I want to thank you for your advice concerning a problem I had downloading Firefox to my Windows 10 laptop. I tried to follow your advice but was not successful. In the end, I googled "what if Firefox doesn't install". It took me to a website, https://www.makeuseof.com/fix-firefox-not-installing-windows , which took me to an article entitled "8 Fixes to Try if Firefox Won't Install on Windows". I tried #1 and #2 without success. #3, Temporarily Disable Your Antivirus Software, worked. Firefox is up and running. Feel free to share this with anyone who has a similar problem. When I looked at my profile I find that there are several folders created for each of my email addresses at different times. I had wondered about the possibility of clean install of each of the accounts (IMAP) so this would pickup everything from the individual servers. Then copying across the local folders and my address book. Is this possible/feasible? Would it just be easier to import everything? Where is the address book stored. I also have TB backed up on an external drive (insurance). Thanks

I have two Problems. 1st How do I delete a large number of unread and unwanted e-mails except one at a time? 2nd How do i arrange my e-mails in Date Received Order?

New computer (Windows 11) shows 'Old Firefox Data'. Opened hidden files. Using File Explorer found Profile Folder & renamed it 'old'. Copied and pasted 'Old Firefox Data' as new profile. Firefox would not open. Had to remove etc and Firefox worked again. Thought this maybe the easiest way to get my Bookmarks back.

PS Presume Profile Folder does not contain Thunderbird Addresses?

I use a samsung galaxy A12, and I have issue with the download functionality. Whenever I'm downloading and I pause or the Internet becomes bad, when I resume the download or "try again", it completes the download but the file becomes corrupted and won't open in my phones storage. And I notice that the size of the file is always less than the actual size downloaded, which indicates that it stopped downloading into the local storage at the point it paused or network became bad.

It'll download completely, but the file downloaded into the phone becomes corrupted and useless. It's annoying that a browser has such a problem in 2023.

Please, fix up ASAP.

I am trying to download a large file. Am on a course, and the main tutor has given the group a file to download. Have tried downloading this 5 times, but get little luck. The file that I would want to download is 8.5GB, and the furthest I get is about 4GB.

I have 2 questions about this.

1) I seem to have a very 'in and out internet connection. It seems to go down at times for no reason, cutting off the download. Is there anything I could do about this? How could I troubleshoot this, please? 2) Does anybody know of any special tools that I can use to download in a more efficient manner, please? Perhaps an extension for Firefox might be able to do this, perhaps? Kind Regards to Anyone Answering this Query, Marek

I find impossinle to install Thunderbors pm ,u Windows 11 laptop. The different menus presented are wau to cpmplicated for an avereage person. Currently I am stuck with a dialog box the simply says "Input server already exists. Beyond this, these are several dialog boxes I don't understand.

I respectfully ask for my money paid for this program and I will delete it from my computer.\

Hi,

I am running out of space in my email account. Is it possible to export specific folders of emails out, so that I can delete those folders (and the emails in them) to make some space. I don't want to do a full export out, just those specific folders, so that if I ever need to refer back to those emails, I can import just those back in.

Is this something that can be done?

Why is this so difficult? I keep getting the attachment. How do I stop it? I NEVER WANT FIREFOX TO TELL ME THERE IS AN UPDATE. I will check and update when I'm ready. How do I stop this?

MacbookPro needed service which wiped hard drive. Reinstalled back up (to Ventura), but Thunderbird app was trashed. Reinstalled Thunderbird, but I can not see received emails from 2019-2023 (now), but oddly, can see all sent emails from 2020. How do I get my missing emails and categories? The web instructions make no sense to me. As I understand, my profiles are separate from the app, but it is not clear at all how I can toggle from one to another while in Thunderbird. I am desperately trying to import a contact book into TB. In CSV format. All I get get is 100's of unreadable records. My version of TB is 115.4.3 (latest). The import tool provides no info whatsoever about the CSV format. I found a bit of info about the format on Mozilla. I only need a few fields for the record. First Name, Last Name, Home Email, Work Email. These are supposed to be field numbers 1,2,5,6. I made a CSV file according to this, but import is as said impossible. Has anyone had any luck with this? regards /peter

Problem: Thunderbird hangs up on Macbook and iMac. It opens to the normal view, but if I try to do anything, I get the beachball of death. I used Mac migration assistant to install from Macbook to iMac. Before the installation, the Macbook Thunderbird worked fine, but after the installation, neither worked. My PC installation works fine, as does Apple Mail on my iOS devices, so it is not a provider problem.

Solutions tried: restarting in troubleshoot mode, restarting iMac, turning off access to Apple Contacts, turning off antivirus (Norton), creating new profile and copying existing mail data into the profile folder, and renaming various files in the profile folder.

Results: None of the solutions I tried provided access to my email. I can open the new profile, but that requires that I reenter all my email account information and copy the emails for each account into the new profile (I use POP). The problem may be with the prefs.js file, since if I rename it, Thunderbird doesn't hang, but would require me to reenter all my account info as if it were a new profile, and all preferences would be lost.

Question: What is the best solution for this problem? Is there anything that would work better than reentering the account info -- e.g., can I make any changes to prefs.js using a text editor or some other utility?

Malware has taken my backup email address and is using it to take over. [Email address] and [email address] are to of my accounts being used to steel everything. Messages, phone calls , device, etc are being stored in hidden files in Drive , application selection options are unavailable etc

The newest Thunderbird upgrade has ruined my email. I cannot send email and Thunderbird no longer recognizes my settings. I want to remove this update and go back to the previous build that I had. If this cannot be fixed I will need to get a new email manager.

I am about to lose access to my work gmail account (new job). I used Google Takeout to download all my emails in .mbox format. I then used Mozilla Thunderbird (with the ImportExportTools NG add-on) to access the emails. They are currently available in a folder called WorkEmailBackup within my local folders section on Thunderbird.

I would like to add these emails to my pre-existing personal hotmail account. I have set this account up on Thunderbird. However, when I drag the WorkEmailBackup folder into my hotmail inbox (in Thunderbird), not all the emails are copied over. Thunderbird says there are 7730 emails in the WorkEmailBackup folder, but only 2212 will copy into my hotmail account. I have tried several times, but the transfer always stops at 2212 emails, and I can see that emails are missing. I have also tried highlighting the emails individually (rather than copying the whole folder), but have had the same problem.

Please help :(
