I use Firefox version 103, the old version that is perfectly compatible with an extension I always use. I love this old version, and I don't want to update it to the new version. But the update reminder pops up many times everyday. it's so annoying. I used "about config" to turn it off (see photo 2); it works a bit, but the popup still there once daily after the configuration. I want to turn it off permanently. Is there any way to do it? I have been using Thunderbird for many years, and really like it - until two recent updates (sorry!). I am running Ubuntu 22.04, and Thunderbird 115.4.1. One now has a column taken on the left which is unnecessary, and a section at the top which is above the menus with e.g. File... but I would like my File menu at the top, as it used to be. The second issue is more frustrating - the search facility, where one can find the emails being sought, allows me to search by many options, and I was able to display the results sorted by subject, size or my normal was by date, but I never use the message threads as that is rarely of interest, and I can sort on that using the message subject if needed. Now, when I search the results are ONLY in the message threads, and if I try to sort by date, I lose all information, and the ONLY option is to see the messages by thread which is no use to me! How can I restore good old Thunderbird - the version I enjoy using (or have the functionality I had restored)?! Many thanks,

I'm trying to set the download location to a different drive, containing the current username. For example, if my username is Brett.Michaels, I want my default download directory to be G:\brett.michaels. Other browsers have a variable that is usable like {user_name} however I can only find reference to {home} for Firefox, which does not allow me to alter the drive. I've tried using Windows-based environment variables to no avail. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Windows 10 Thunderbird 115.4.2 (64 bit) Following the recent update, the Write icon has vanished. I can see it in Customise -Toolbars but can't do anything about it. I know there is a keyboard shortcut to get this done but I want my icon back please! Many thanks Howard

How come that we are in 2023 and we still do not have major features like Chrome's Profiles or Orion Browser's Profiles.

For example, Orion Browser creates an app per profile and this allows MacOS users to customize each app with a different icon. This seems small but on a taskbar we can differentiate the instances faster.

Why is that the best option for managing profiles in Firefox is the Firefox Profile Switcher, a third-party tool supported by a community member?

Will this ever be addressed? Firefox is better than the others in so many things but, for example, even Safari implemented Profiles now.

To be clear: containers are NOT the same thing as profiles and profiles still have an usage. For example, my work profile has no syncs, different extensions and stricter configurations than my personal profile and this cannot be done with containers.

Supernova 115 - I prefer the Quick Filter Search box (Ctrl+Shift+K) than the Global Search box (Ctrl+K) because it is easy to find messages.

Can anyone help to replace the Global Search box (Ctrl+K) by Quick Filter Search box (Ctrl+Shift+K) on mail Toolbar.

I would like you to stop displaying notifications of incoming emails while I'm reading my other emails. These notifications block what I'm trying to read and they are irritating and annoying.

I have Windows 10 with current maintenance and current version of Firefox.

Don't know what the address bar is called, but I believe it once had a download icon. Am I mistaken?

Sometimes after I enter an address there will be an icon where I can download something. Is this website-dependent?

I want the Firefox suggestions to show up when I click on the address bar. Currently, it shows up only when I type a letter. I am unable to find the settings for it. I know it's a silly query, but would still appreciate it if it could be answered.

I would like to change the font size of the entries in my Messages pane. Changing it with View>Font Size changes everything, and this uses way too much space in the Folder and Message Detail panes. If you compare the defaults prior to the latest update to what 115.4.1 has you will see what I mean. Tried to find something in ConfigEditor but didn't see anything. Thanks

Can you set up an email address to receive only/block sending from it? I have two addresses defined in Thunderbird and if I don't check, it occasionally picks up the one I don't want to send from.

I am working on an extension/add-on Firefox for android. Our extension wants to communicate with a native app and fetch data from there. I tried nativeMessaging but it is not supported by Firefox. . While researching, I came across articles discussing Firefox's 120 build, which is expected to provide enhanced support for add-ons. However, I couldn't find any information regarding native app communication in these resources. I'm seeking assistance or guidance from someone who may have insights into this matter.

This morning the add-on 'Search By Image' has ceased working. I use it daily, it worked yesterday, and so far as I know there have been no updates to FF or SBI or Windows.

To test I tried removing SBI and re-adding it, and disabling Malwarebytes.

I disabled SBI and installed "Image Search Options". ISO works, though I prefer SBI.

Win11, FF is now 119.0, but it auto-updated when I went to check so I do not know what it was when the problem began this morning. I have not restarted, I have too many tabs open at the moment.

This is also happening to a different PC that is Win10/FF, but never had Malwarebytes installed. SBI still does not work after restarting FF v119.0 in Win10.

Any ideas on how to diagnose this?

I used to be able to see the number/count of new messages and old messages in all of my message folders. There seems to have been an update, and all of my numbers are missing. Can you tell me how to fix this please.
