I downloaded Thunderbird 102.4 and upgraded from the previous version(which was whatever the previous most recent release on the release channel was). It's copied/restored most of my folders and their contents but some now have headers only and some mailboxes now only have titles and no contents. I log onto two different mailservers for email but there seem to be problems and successes for both servers so it all seems a bit random. Just wondering what's happened and has anyone else experienced this? I shut down the computer and when I started up the following day and the missing emails had returned - so if you have this problem maybe a restart would sort it.

I am struggling with Gmail and Yahoo mail account in TB these few days. I hit almost the same errors from both. I generated app password for Yahoo mail, and put it in when setting up new account. For connection security: SSL/TLS For authentication method: tried with Normal password, Encrypted password, and OAuth2 However, I am seeing the expected authentication window pop up when trying the OAuth2. For all three authentication method: errors are always the same --- unable to connect to your IMAP server. I've followed another instruction to change maximum number of server connections to cache into 1 or 10. Error messages were the same imap one. So, what should I do/try for next?

After creating a IMAP email setup instead of the old pop3, I want to move my old folders over to the IMAP setup, but when clicking 'copy to', 'move to' or just simply dragging them nothing happens. No errors no nothing.

Whats wrong ?

The bar that contained those items disappeared in Firefox after the update to 110 I believe. I don't know how to get it back, I've searched settings. The bookmarks and all the data appear to still be there. It's been there since, I think, version .9 something. I updated to windows 10 from windows 7 about 3 months back. I noticed the change immediately. I don't even know what the bar is called. I still have my windows 7 machine since I am still trying to resolve problem with windows 10 and I'm even thinking of going back to window 7. It did the update to 109 without a problem.

HELP!!

It is probably something simple by windows is more a game machine to me. I learned computers on a GE-645 to give you an idea of how old I am.

I have transferred TB from a win7 to a win10 computer. I had to manually edit the profile.ini file, it mainly installed on C: drive, I needed D: drive. TB works, I can send/receive emails. However I have 2 Inboxes, both being updated using POP account. I only want one global inbox. I suspect the changes I made to the profile.inio file are wrong. Anyone know what I have done wrong? Hi there! I'm having trouble attaching files and gaining acces to local files on my computer in general. When trying to attach, the bathing bubble (Mac) appears for 5-10 seconds, then nothing happens. Have tried to search through help forums and Googled, but haven't found any description of this problem. Thank you in advance, Andreas

During the migration to Thunderbird Gmail imported several folders (e.g., Chat( that I do not want cluttering up my clean Thunderbird account. When I try to delete them I get a FAILURE message. Is there anything to be done?

Patch 1 and 2. 91 Branch: Patch 1 and 2 (Despite saying Parts 2 and 3, there is no Part 1). To clarify, so the current 102 release of FF does not 'contain any patch for that bug 1771084, and it's recommended manually to install these patches? Or they are already incorporated in the release?

This is a very bizarre problem. Basically I can't install any Firefox addon neither on my desktop OR may laptop. I noticed this issue just couple of days ago. When I try to install any addon normally, from a link, it tells me that the addon can't be installed because the file is corrupt. Tried several addons, all same problem. On my desktop AND on my laptop. On my desktop I'm running ver. 103, but on my laptop I still had ver. 102.1, so there is no Firefox update issue. When I try to install addon from xpi file, it tells me that I have no permission to open that file and that's it. I tried to take ownership of that file but it didn't solve the issue I tried to disable my AV program, but it didn't do anything. On my laptop, I tried to refresh FF, no help. I tried to start FF in safe mode, same problem. I created new profile, same issue. Eventually, I totally uninstalled FF, removing program itself, removing Appdata folder and even registry entry. Installed fresh copy of FF, same problem exists. Then, I noticed one thing. When I tried to sync fresh FF installation on my laptop, it synced everything, EXCEPT for addons. So, something is preventing me doing anything regarding addons. Themes install just fine. I've struggling with this problem since yesterday and at this point I totally ran out of any fresh ideas how to solve this issue, thus posting here. I'll appreciate any fresh idea as what to do next. Trying to retire the Google surveillance tool, Chrome, by using Firefox. Ugh, if y'all want to encourage this someone should really look at how this is done!

I got bookmarks moved and prefs setup. Importing extensions is really nice--thanks FF devs--but a feature of Chrome I use every day is the set of icons on the new tab/home page/startup page. It is super easy to customize on Chrome but I can find no way to do so in Firefox. These icons have no label on the page and are right under the search bar--see image.

I have spent most of the morning following unhelpful links about android or mentioning menu options that do not exist. I am using FF 119 on macOS.

Maybe you don't need all that - I'm brand new to all this and don't know much at all! I don't understand, for ex. why it doesn't say "Cinnamon" up there, since that's what I'm using for Linux Mint, but anyway...

I use Protonmail, and have finally gotten the protonmail bridge to work with Thunderbird. I have exported my contacts from Protonmail's webmail as a vCard. I saved the card in my downloads folder and I have opened the document to make sure it isn't blank - it looks like everything is there.

When I go through the import steps in Thunderbird, though, nothing imports. I have tried several times, shut down TB, opened it again - nothing there.

I am using a used HDD that has 2 accounts - each has its own APPDATA file. One account belongs to the old computer where the HDD came from, and the 2nd acct was moved from my primary acct. that was on a different HDD. Should I just move any files I might want from the 1st Account, then delete it?

When I tried to launch TB, I rec'd this error message: "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." I'm not 100% confident I have all the needed files in the Thunderbird Appdata folder. Can you tell me the names of the files I need?

If I just delete any existing APPDATA files (while keeping the Profile Folders) would TB just create a set of new APPDATA files - and then I could move the appropriate Profile Names to where it belongs? Thanks...
