Firefox Browser uprated to 92.0 today. Previously whilst browsing Ad's were showing; today I have no Ad's displayed but have not enabled an Ad Blocker on Firefox. A site I use extensively cannot now be properly viewed; I get a message to turn off Ad Blocker. I have set Enhanced Tracking Protection to 'Off' but am still unable to obtain full functionality, I am using standard Firefox Privacy settings otherwise. I am able to browse the site properly using MS Edge. I have deliberately refrained from using any AD Blocking on my part so as to ensure the site in question can be properly viewed. The only Firefox extension being used is Kaspersky Protection; I get the turn off Ad Blocker message both when Kaspersky Protection is on or off.

copy-to-clipboard option disappeared from right-click menu upon upgrading to version 91.2.0 in Linux Ubuntu.

I get more junk/suspicious emails than I'd prefer here, so I always found this copy-to-clipboard option extremely useful if I wasn't sure if I should look at an email.

It seems this option is no longer available upon version 91.2.0, however I guess one workaround would be to "view as text", rather than html.

I liked that copy-to-clipboard option because it did not entail opening a possibly infectious email that may very well be best never opened.

That being said, I'd like to humbly suggest that the copy-to-clipboard option be put back.

Is there something that I am missing?

All of a sudden I'm getting the Yahoo maiil ID changed to Google Mail with out any authorisation on my part ? I know Google owns Yahoo. I use Yahoo mail all the time and Yahoo is my ID for many applications so why has this happened ? If something like this can change unknowns to me does this mean that Google has control of my MAC and FireFox and its content .??

Hi, I just moved my thunderbird (latest version for Windows XP 32-bit) from my old Windows XP PC to new Windows 10 PRO PC (Thunderbird 91.2.0 64-bit).

I moved my profile folder to new PC. All my messages were moved with no problem but had to enter all passwords as if they didn't come with my moved profile.

I'm now having problem logging in to POP3 mail servers. Every time I logged in, if I checked the box "Use Password Manager to remember this password" It showed as

> Gmail: Nothing happened. No email downloaded from server. > Outlook: the bottom status bar showed "Connect to pop-mail.outloook.com..." and stayed like that forever. No email downloaded from server.

However, if I unchecked the "Use Password Manager to remember this password" box, Thunderbird can download all my emails. But I have to enter all passwords every time if I restart Thunderbird.

What I have done but problems still persist.

> Uninstall Thunderbird and reinstall > Delete key4.db, key3.db, logins.json, cert9.db from my profile folder and restart Thunderbird > Turn off 2-step verification in gmail account and use real password instead of app password

How can I correct this? Please help. Thank you.

This may be an inexperienced "user error" but I believe that a recent update has removed "options" from the Tools menu thereby removing menu access to Password Manager.

I finally accessed the Password manager from Tools/preferences/privacy/passwords/saved passwords

While Thunderbird help continues to reference "Password Manager", I believe it was renamed "Saved Logins"

Hi. Has anyone noticed that the password you can set within the program doesn't actually do anything to stop someone from reading the e-mails? I noticed this by just clicking "x" to exit the notification of having to enter the password. After pressing "x" 3 times, it didn't ask me again and I can freely look around all the e-mails I have stored.

Is that supposed to happen? I'd rather if the password stopped anyone from being unable to read the e-mails stored. Isn't that the idea of having a password on the program?

Kind regards,

Geo

Starting Firefox( going to Google.Com ) I get either "Secure Connection Not Available" or "Google.com taking to long to load". It is an HTTPS-Only Mode Alert. If I reload the page it goes to Google.com. Also if I create a new tab it works fine. When is says it is taking to long to load it is only loading for a few seconds before I get the message. The problem is only on the initial opening of Firefox. Thanks

When deleting Firefox' history I can choose to clear "active logins" and/or "cookies". But "cookies" are mostly used to store information about "active logins". So there seems to be some overlap. I'm interested in the technical difference between the two. I suspect "active logins" is clearing only session cookies, while "cookie" is clearing also/only non-session cookies? But I haven't been able to find reliable documentation on these details. Could someone help me out?

First of this issue is atleast 4 years old. I found various different people having this problem. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1432644 It should be a P5 not a P3. This official Mozilla article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-trusted-websites-your-allow-list-firefox-focus Does NOT work.

I am trying to add an expection to tracking protection but there is no such option, as descriped at Bugzilla. In the adress bar i removed the tracking protection for a website. But it was NOT added to the exception list. I dont allow 3rd party cookies and auto delete cookies when closing Fox. I think that is the reason why it's not working, if this is the case it's a bug.

What i actually tried to do, using dark-theme from duckduckgo permanently. Because as right now, i must change the theme every single time i reopen Firefox. This is Bull**** honestly. Even when i add duckduckgo as an addon, it does not save the dark theme!

I recently came across a website listing adjustments to Firefox's about:config settings. These are supposedly done to help make the browser more secure. Modifications to browser.safebrowsing.phishing.enabled,and after, are what I'm most curious about - mostly since the name Google is attached.

Others: - dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled [copy and paste tracking] - network.http.sendRefererHeader [hyperlink tracking]

Website for reference: https://proprivacy.com/privacy-service/guides/firefox-privacy-security-guide

I understand a lot can change within a year, but before breaking something, I wanted to ask if changing any of the above settings, particularly those having to do with Google, will cause damage to the browser itself. -thx

I've been using an older version of Thunderbird for years without issue to sign into my POP3 optimum online mail server. I recently "updated" so I could get the "Remove Duplicate Emails" plugin working.

I now have the issue I've seen mentioned here numerous times: I can no longer save my password. I have to manually input it every time I open Thunderbird. If I enter my password and sign in, my mail works fine.

If I check the box to remember my password, it no longer connects to the server. Instead it attempts to connect for a few minutes, then gives me a "mail server timed out" error.

My saved passwords list is completely blank. There is only one profile folder in the Thunderbird profiles directory.

I have tried deleting/renaming the following files in the profile folder: - key3.db (does not reappear after new version, probably legacy) - key4.db - cert9.db - signons.sqlite (has also not reappeared after removing)

I have seen it also advised to delete/rename the following files, but they do not exist in my local profile folder: - pkcs11.txt - logins.json

I am not using CC cleaner or any other programs to scrub passwords.

When I go to Truist.com, my recently merged bank, it remembers my userid OK, but fills in the password field with about 200 random ASCII characters. I tried to delete and re-establish the saved password, but Firefox either gets messes it up or more likely the web site messes it up. The result is that the true saved password in lost and the ASCII rubbish re-appears.

Work-around is to not let Firefox save the password for this site. It works A-OK with the other 150 or so passwords. Check out the screen shot attached.

Luv Firefox, even donate once in a while.

Thank you,

Please help recover my many passwords. Win7 had gotten corrupted; so I had a shop install Win10.

In prep, I did a backup with the SW bundled with my USB Seagate BackupPlus. On the same drive, I did a backup with Win7's backup tool. I exported bookmarks.html and bookmarks.json to the drive being upgraded.

The shop saved & restored ONLY the tree under users/ ... and likely, not all of that. Searching what was restored yields no match for "appdata", "prefs.js", etc

Worse, the backups I took with the Win7 and Seagate tools also seem to lack the files needed to restore my many site passwords. I'm hoping you can tell me how to recover those passwords.
