Hello, so I have been putting my custom links onto the 'top sites' start page in Firefox, by editing the icons and putting the URL, etc. It is a great 'speed dial' type feature I love. One thing has me tearing my hair out after trying all ways to try and fix this to appear to my liking, is the 'custom icon' from the website not showing in the sites I want to 'speed dial' Facebook and YT show up fine, but random sites I want on the page don't do this. I don't care why this is anymore, please don't give lengthily fixes. It's just silly you need a working URL with an icon at the end of it to display this properly. It did make me very mad, can you tell, even madder when I saw it done as it should be in OPERA browser, on their 'top sites', or 'speed dial' customizable home page they have the sensible option there to pick your own icon, you can put in a folder on your desktop if you like, no working URL needed! start a collection of what icons you want to see on your own start page. Can you please implement this 'common sense' modification as soon as possible, it will take only minutes of code writing i'm sure. I do not want to, but I will go to Opera as my main browser for this common sense functionality, good luck and thank you.

Is there a way to rename things in the Passwords list? I'm not concerned about MY password or sign-in, but what appears in the list. A name such as "login.live.com" tells me nothing about what site that sign-in will take me to. I'd like to be able to rename it with something that gives me a hint.

I have a fairly long list of saved logins, and visually scan the list at times to get to a supplier or service I need.

I'm using a desktop, Windows 10.

Hi jscher2000, I want to thank you for your advice concerning a problem I had downloading Firefox to my Windows 10 laptop. I tried to follow your advice but was not successful. In the end, I googled "what if Firefox doesn't install". It took me to a website, https://www.makeuseof.com/fix-firefox-not-installing-windows , which took me to an article entitled "8 Fixes to Try if Firefox Won't Install on Windows". I tried #1 and #2 without success. #3, Temporarily Disable Your Antivirus Software, worked. Firefox is up and running. Feel free to share this with anyone who has a similar problem. Hi, PLEASE ASSIST I have a Desktop Computer & also a Laptop Computer(both using Windows 10) I used Firefox Syn to have both Comuters the same BUT BUT,Nothing but Problems On the Desktop Computer,regardless if I open Firefox,both Bookmark Menu & toolbar Menu are the same After (on firefox using Eset Banking) the Toolbar was great,but now,when I open it,it is the same as the normal Bookmark Menu) & if I open Firefox normally,the Menus are the same On Firefox using ESET Banking,I deleted all the menu on the toolbar & Put in the sites I had before all of the SYN But After I had it back to where I need it,GREAT & Shut it down,After 15 minutes I reopened it again & MUCH TO MY DISCUSS.the Toolbar Menu I just had put back is gone & the normal bookmark menu is Back HOW CAN I STOP THIS Through Firefox ESET Banking Tooplbar menu,is a safe way of logging into sites to make payments It is EXTREMELY FRUSTATING Please Help Thank you Darryl.Smith

It is sort in the background like a page behind the main screen I am viewing but it causes Firefox to crash. I have seen other posts say disable hardware acceleration, but mine is disabled, others say disabled extension, but I only have ublock! It is not my graphics card as it is all up to date. My laptop is new 6 months old.

Firefox opens only by clicking the taskbar icon , not from the desktop icon or even double-clicking the program "firefox.exe" itself in the Firefox directory.

We see that Firefox often takes the fallback Proxy. The connection via the Fallback proxy is much slower than the connection via the original proxy. 

My Questions: How does Firefox recognize which Proxy is now active? Is there away to debug the Proxy Selection? Can I give a priority to a Proxy?

I can not log into my Harley ride planner account. Its not the websight as I can log in on my I phone. I get this message.The resource at “https://www.harley-davidson.com/etc/designs/h-d/images/dropdown-arrow-white-2.png” was blocked by OpaqueResponseBlocking. Reason: “nosniff is true and mimeType is an opaque-blocklisted MIME type or its essence is 'text/plain'”. How do I fix this? Thank you Paul

If you type "% [search term]" in your search bar, it will try to search your existing tabs for any tabs that fit the criteria. The problem is, firefox is making odd decisions on what to display in the search results. I was under the impression that Firefox would prioritize the most frequently used tabs in the search results, but this no longer appears to be true, or the criteria used is more complex than that.

As an example, in the attached screenshot, i am searching for tabs with the keyword "Stellaris". But for some reason, Firefox refuses to show me any reddit tabs with "Stellaris" in them, and is instead showing a list of tabs that are much less frequently used.

Is there any way to get the search results to prioritize the most frequently used tabs, change what shows up in the search results, etc? I know i can type "stellaris reddit" to narrow down the search results, but i would prefer that the search results prioritize the msot frequently used tabs.

Using Firefox 115.7 ESR btw.

I've tried a few addons that download website images but the website I go to has thumbnails that are linked to larger jpg's and addons I've used won't download the linked jpg's. I used "Download all images" addon which has a "Deep Search Option" and filters for downloading linked images but I can't get it to work. I couldn't figure out how to use the filters. I read about another addon called "download-links" that can search linked images and I might give it a try. Any suggestions? Has anyone tried "Download all images" addon?

So, i transferred to my new PC I had a recovery key, and about a lifetime worth of passwords on my account. I exactly followed these steps:

Reset your password with your account recovery key

If you forgot your password and need to reset it, follow these steps.

   Click the Forgot your password? link on the sign-in page.
   Check your email and click the password reset link in it.
   Enter your account recovery key.
   Create a new password.
   Create a new account recovery key. 

Now, my recovery key became my new password and my account is blank. Great. Have a good time!

Yes, following your instructions I now can see and access the attachements. I cannot still opening them, only download them. It is not perfect but at least I can have access to the attachments without having to exit Firefox and go to Acrobat.

Recently my browser stopped opening in full screen. It opens in a little box that is usually partially off screen. I have not changed any settings and do not understand why this is happening. I maximize the window which usually has to be done twice (meaning I hit the maximize window twice to get it to go completely back to full screen). I have also tried dragging the corners of the window to maximum size, but the following day it will go back to not opening in full screen. If someone could help me with this, I would really appreciate it.

I've been trying to reply to moderator "Phil" who requested information regarding Firefox crashing while on Youtube. When I press "Post reply" all I get is an error message:

It's important "Phil" gets my message as others may be affected my possible Youtube shenanigans. If possible, can you forward this message to "Phil": Unfortunately there are only two reports generated during the problems with Youtube:

The problem caused my system to stop responding forcing me to power cycle to clear my PC, so no reports could be generated. Hopefully these two will show what the problem is. In the meantime, can you check the reply system to make certain it's working properly?
