Given that I want to create a new event in the calendar with a description When I click on +New Event Then a tab opens that is so large given my 175% scaling that the Description field for the New Event is just above the taskbar. I cannot see what I am typing beyond the first line. There is no scrollbar to scroll down, nor a way to collapse the fields above.

Whenever I enter a new calendar event in Thunderbird, the calendar always defaults the event start time to 15 minutes after the hour, regardless of what time I'm making the new calendar entry. Is the new event start time a default setting and if so, how do I change the default to start new events on the hour, meaning HH:00 and not HH:15 which is what Thunderbird always defaults to? I use Thunderbird v115.9.0 (64-bit) for Windows, and the computer runs Windows 10 Home, v22H2, build 19045.4170. Please advise. Thank you.

Hello,

Similarly to user that asked https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1376333, I would like to know if an accepted event can be edited – really edited, not just by converting/duplicating it to a task or another event.

For example, if I added an accepted invite to the wrong calendar and would like to move it to another one of my calendars... This calendar switching feature is part of MacOS Calendar, even if, as in Thunderbird, other properties of an accepted invite are not editable (except for comments).

Since this lack of control over invite edition is mainly what is holding me to adopt Thunderbird, is such a feature likely to be deployed eventually?

Thunderbird 115.9.0 (64-bit).

I have my timezone set to manual, Europe.

I create an event for 30 March 2024 and the time is displaying in my time zone

I mark it as ALL DAY and it switches to Local Time (not a problem so far)

If I display the calendar as 1 month starting with 24 March, then the event shows properly on Saturday 30 March

If I scroll the calendar up to start on 31 March, now the event shows on 31 March.

If I edit the event, it says the timezone is Chicago.

Changing the timezone and resaving it doesn't help.

Having finally got fed up with all the adds in Outlook.com, I've now started using Thunderbird as my email client! (I know, what took me so long?!) I've set up my email ok and it all seems to be working fine and syncing with my Outlook.com account, but I have some queries regarding the Calendar. I've managed to add my Outlook.com calendar to Thunderbird, but; 1 - How do I sync my Thunderbird calendar with my Outlook.com calendar?

At the moment any changes/additions I make aren't synced.

2 - Also, someone shares their calendar (Outlook.com) with me.

How do I add and sync this to my Thunderbird calendar.

Although I love my tech etc, I'm only good with what I know, so please explain any solutions as clearly and simply as you can, sorry! Regards Mark

Hi!

We found an issue with import cancelled recurrence .ics events which affected by caldav import also.

Steps to reproduce (simple version without caldav server)

  1. Create recurrence event with one participant
  2. Delete/cancel one event from recurrence with notify participant
  3. Download received event of cancellation
  4. Try to import this event to the Thunderbird calendar

Issue caused by:

  • The problematic line is: "RECURRENCE-ID;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20240208T140000"

If i delete this line, the import works as expected.

Can you help with this?

Thanks! BR, Z

I use Thunderbird calendar for all my events and without it I am lost. Yesterday, I wanted to export my calendar to be imported later by an online platform. I used the export function. I noticed however, that under the name of my calendar on the left pane this has appeared ( . export). I thought the ics file is already created, so I went ahead and deleted the strange ". export" item that appeared under my calendar name in the left pane. What happened next was that all my events disappeared from my normal calendar window. My question is how I can get back all my events? Or how I can restore the ". export" so my events come back.

Additional information: I did not have backup for my calendar. I cannot locate anywhere the ics file I thought it is "exported" I am using the latest version of Thunderbird as of March 2024.

Hi, When creating an event in the calendar view, I get my timezone displayed (Europe/Paris), I set my starting and ending time and save.

On event display in the calendar, I immediately notice that the time is off by 1h. On viewing the details, the right time is displayed but on 'Europe/Dublin' timezone. Changing it back doesn't fix the time, timezone always change after save.

I took a look at my settings, tried to use "use system timezone" (= Europe/Paris) of forced it to Europe/Paris, even checked the config editor, but nothing changed.

Did I miss a setting ?

My calendar is sync by CalDav (using TBSync), don't know if this could be related.

I am affected by this bug in Thunderbird 115.6.0 on Debian Linux (KDE xorg) so I cannot currently use two-finger touchpad scrolling to navigate without flying months into the future or past. On top of that, there is no visible scrollbar and it is not even responding to the keyboard arrow keys or PgUp/PgDn when the focus is on the main calendar. Any idea how to get this working? This is making it pretty impossible to get around when I'm not using a mouse with scroll wheel.

Thunderbird 113 (?), local calendar, Win 10, email invites stopped being sent to the listed Attendees. Correct email was entered on Calendar/Properties/Email and Notify attendees was ticked in New Event dialogue. Attendees were correctly entered under New Event/Invite Attendees but after clicking Save and Close, there was no Invitation email record in "Sent" emails and no Attendees receives email invitations. The event was correctly saved in the originator's calendar.

TB 115.7.0 installed from scratch on a new Win 11 PC and the emails/calendar data transferred from the old PC. Everything works *except* that no invitation emails are still sent to the listed Attendees of a new event (same symptoms as on the Win 10 PC). So transferring emails and calendar entries transferred the problem to the new PC.

What next?

When I double-click on an event in my TB Lightning calendar, the event details window/popup/whatever-you-call-it opens up at a fixed size which 90% of the time is too short vertically to see the Edit button. This forces me to have to resize it manually just to be able to click on Edit. This is making the calendar very annoying to do. Any of the following might help:

  1. How can I change the default popup window size?
  2. How can I make the manually selected size sticky?
  3. Can you change the default size to automatically be tall enough for the Edit button to be visible?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

I recently installed a CalDAV server at my workplace to connect to in the Thunderbird calendar, as we all already use Thunderbird for e-mail.

If I create a meeting in the calendar and invite everyone else, they all get an email invite with the name, time & place of meeting etc.. And at the top of the email, just below the title of the email, there is a purple bar with boxes saying "Accept", "Tentative", "Deny" and "More" (or something synonymous, I have it in Swedish).

For one employee that purple bar with the "Accept"-box does not appear, and the only way for him to get the meeting to his calendar is by downloading the "invite.ics" file that is attached and importing it afterwards.

I have added two screenshots showing what I mean. One with the Accept, Deny etc. and the one person's e-mail that doesn't have the boxes.

We have checked his settings without finding anything that seems wrong in first glance. I have checked the caldav user account but the user account has the same settings as the others. Thunderbird is updated to the latest version (115.7.0, same as I use and it works for me).

When he invites people to a meeting they all get the invite correctly, so nothing is wrong when he creates a meeting invitation, only when he recieves an invite.

What could be wrong? Is there a setting he might've activated/deactivated in Thunderbird that we missed when looking or could there be something else we have thought of?

Thanks, Tim

It has been about a week now since 115.8 tried to install on my Windows 10 but could not without my password. I have been on Auto update for years now and could not put in correct password. It was suggested I go back to 102 and start over with a new account. I did. I have 102 and can send and receive emails. Problem is 102 does not show all emails that show in my same account when I log into Ionos.com host of my email account. I created another problem going to Thunderbird 102, birthdays. I have no access to my Thunderbird calendar not only for this month but all months this year and forever. I made a copy of everything in my account prior to going back to 102 to get a new password. How to I get my 2014 calendar back. And first thing I do if and when I get it back is to use a pen and paper to write down birthdays and whatever I want to remember and save it on paper just in case this happens again? Thanks.
