OSX 12.7.4

I upgraded to 115.9.0 to get OAuth for some, but not all, accounts. Those on Gmail & Yahoo are OAuth. I have non-OAuth accounts on a Zimbra server, and on Panix.com.

It prompts for the first account's password. TBird then gobbles all available CPU on the machine, and stays there. If I wait long enough, it becomes usable again, but that may well be hours.

However, once it calms down, it works normally.

Intertwined with this is: TBird rejects the Zimbra passwords as I enter them. I retry and retry, and then they succeed. I know the passwords are correct; I've even typed them out, and then copy&pasted them in. I'm not sure about the Panix account, if its password works the first time or not.

I tried restarting in troubleshooting mode; it made no difference.

I am attempting to report that Yahoo Finance is broken. From this URL, I use the "report broken site" feature:

When I fill out the information and hit "send", nothing happens. The "report broken site" screen remains active. Hitting Send multiple times has no effect.

I've tried using this feature for other pages, and it appears to work; but it won't work for this site.

Can anyone suggest why that might be? Is it a byproduct of the site's being broken?

I've got a really old MacBook Pro that's still running 10.13, and Firefox has started displaying a nag screen telling me that this version is no longer supported, and to install a newer version of MacOS.

Is there something in the advanced settings that will stop it nagging me? I now know it's not going to get any more updates, there's no need to keep telling me every 20 minutes...

(Note to the devs: a "don't remind me again" checkbox would be nice for things like this!)

I have 6 accounts on cox.net and today in two out of the 6 accounts, emails that I send are not saved and I get a message "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. The "sent" folders for these two accounts are grayed out. I have verified that the account settings have the right folder as the destination for the sent emails and have checked that all emails should be saved. I also get a message in Thundebird -The current command did not succeed. The mail server for account xxxxx responded [TRYCREATE} Mailbox doesn't exist. Mail goes out but no copy is saved. Only two out of 6 accounts are affected and I didn't do anything to them before this started happening.

In our company, we have recently updated Thunderbird from version 52.3.0 to 115.9.0. Now we have a problem with href links containing file URIs in our messages. We often receive file links pointing to files in our local intranet, which look like this: <a href="file://///intranet.local/dfs/output/movie.mp4" class="moz-txt-link-freetext" moz-do-not-send="true">movie.mp4</a> Up to Thunterbird version 98.0b3 it was possible to open these files by simply clicking the link. But since version 99.0b1 file links don't open any more. Instead, the error console displays the following message: Security Error: Content at mailbox:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/profilename/Mail/Local%20Folders/Inbox?number=12345 may not load or link to file://///intranet.local/dfs/output/movie.mp4. Fortunately, it is possible to open the link with "Open Link In Browser" from the context menu. But we would like to get rid of this extra click. I already followed the steps in this document: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_do_not_work#Firefox_1.5.2C_Mozilla_1.8.2C_and_newer Interestingly, this document is older than the time, when our problem was introduced into Thunderbird. Consequently, when I follow these steps, file links still don't open in an external application. Instead, they open inside of Thunderbird which is not the desired effect. To put my question in a nutshell: How can I open file links by left-clicking on them, just the way they open, when I right-click on them and select "Open Link In Browser"?

Steps to reproduce: On a Windows computer create a new mail. Press Ctrl-K to insert a link. Enter the following path with username replaced by your windows logon name: file:///C:/Users/username/Documents Save and close the mail. Watch the mail in the drafts folder. Click the link. Nothing happens, but you can see a message in the error console. Right click the link and select "Open Link In Browser". This opens your windows explorer.

Any solution is welcome, even if it's potentially insecure, since our computers don't have any internet access and we can receive internal mail only.

I don't like getting recommendations in Pocket that you need a subscription to read. Why waste my time giving me the initial information on something, but then when I try to read it, I can't because I already have too many subscriptions. Seems like there used to be an option besides "Dismiss" to not show content from particular sites?

When one stops the Firefox shortcuts, does this means amazon can no longer setup spy visits using camera and other permissions left over from installing Firefox. Why can consumers, at the time of installing, not offer the choice of no permissions for companies paying Firefox?

in the contact field, how do i change the name of a contact field like custom properties or organizational properties to something else? i do not know how to add an image! Firefox Setup 125.0.2.exe popped a flag on Jotti's malware scan: ClamAV: Win.Trojan.Spora-7724442-0 I know this is going to turn out a false positive because VirusTotal came up with no flags but can someone at Mozilla get this flag cleared at Jotti's/ClamAV ? thanks

I've had an ongoing issue with Firefox now for several months since upgrading to windows 11. When I try to copy text, or images, url's or anything really that is supposed to go to the clipboard, it copies a blank text with no data instead. I can copy text and images from other programs and even paste them into text fields on Firefox but I can't copy from Firefox to anything else and it's frustrating.

I recently got forced into upgrading Outlook in windows and hated it so I started using Thunderbird and surprisingly, I have the exact same issue there as well.

I have tried: Running Firefox in safe mode (Shift + Left Click) Resetting Firefox Switching Back to default themes Disabling hardware acceleration Updating to the latest Beta Build (v126) Running Firefox Developer edition

I really want to get this fixed and working, I don't want to have to switch to another browser =/.

The past two days Ive had about a dozen addons all updated with the same similarity, i.e.

Every one has not been updated for 6-7 years. I don't see any release notes. Is this some sort of qualifying re-certification procerss?

back in 1916-18 the ability to disable the "SHOW PASSWORD" Button worked with with a variation of the following at that time user_pref("pref.privacy.disable_button.view_passwords", true); I believe I created and used chrome.css or chrome.js

At some point this functionality ceased to work.

Now, I have scoured the Net to figure out a Solution simply setting the value to True, gets reset by Thunderbird, TB does not save it. it always reverts back to False and the button remains available and does not disable

I have tried everything, adding it in user.js, settings.js, userChrome.js I put it in every directory, nothing seems to work

Do I have to Lock it? - How? confusing and disappointing.

Please provide a simple step by step Solution to the problem

The 125.0.2 update broke Amazon Prime Video. Firefox refuses to play ANY video, causes website to return a "That shouldn't have happened" error page. Prime Video plays just fine on Safari 16.6.1, macOS 11.7.10. Amazon says just to use Safari, but I want Firefox to work right.

I have previously (about 1 month ago) connected without issue to my Ionos email account. Today it will not connect. I have updated all the POP3/SMTP settings, read from the Ionos site. I have re-entered the current password too. My Gmail account downloads fine, it is just my Ionos account that will not load. I don't get an error but the last mail showing is in March (2024) and I have had hundreds since then.

Since applying update 115.10.0, Thunderbird will not close correctly and will not relaunch until task is ended in task Manager. This is true on a windows 7 PC and windows 10.
