I read online that Firefox is planning on implementing AI features. Given the track record of AI in other browsers leaking private information, bogging down connectivity, and generally being a nuisance towards users, I was wondering if there will be opt out features in future updates? Or know of forum threads that will update with tutorials on how to turn off AI features?

If not, does anyone on this forum have recommendations for no-ai browsers?

Firefox closes my window too fast-feels like after seconds of inactivity. Can I extend to 5 or 10 minutes? I live alone so o no one is going to run in here and get on my computer when I get up to let the dog out.

New Window slider (see screen shot ) in settings unchecks when Firefox is closed and opened. I have completed a fully uninstalled FF and completed a clean installation to check that was not the issue. It was not. It has been a few weeks now so not sure which upgrade fried it.

I can't seem to find the way to set or adjust (vertical) line-spacing in the body of the message. The lines "collapse" on each other. (see the attachment) I have unchecked the "Use paragraph format..." checkbox. Can't adjust it with the small / large "T" controls on the formatting bar; and I haven't found any setting (or combination of settings) to control or adjust this attribute. FWIW, it happens both when I paste-in text and when I type-in the text. Suggestions?

A few weeks ago, I had to re-add my email account in Thunderbird and took the opportunity to switch from POP3 to IMAP. I am generally familiar with the synchronization behavior associated with IMAP. However, I did not pay close attention to the Sent folder at the time, and I have now noticed that there are almost no sent emails stored on my local computer. When I checked with my email provider (freemail.web.de), I discovered that the retention period for sent emails is limited to 30 days. Apparently, the sent emails (in the “Sent” folder) are synchronized with the server and are therefore deleted from my local system as well once they are removed on the server.

​I have now increased the retention period on the server, but I would still like to clarify the following points:

• Is the synchronization of the Sent folder in fact intended to mirror the server folder (i.e. including the deletion of emails)?
• If so, is it possible to configure the synchronization to be one‑way only (i.e. that new emails from the server are added locally, but emails that are no longer present on the server are not deleted from the local Sent folder)?

Most of the time TBird defaults to TNR as the default font. I have selected Aptos as the default for composing messages and replying. It's pretty annoying. Things worked OK for a while...until they didn't. Did an update mess things up?

When I open Write mode the font is too small and it doesn't change when I change the size to Large or the larger ones in Settings/Composition/HTML Style/Font/Size.

Thunderbird 140.7.1esr (64-bit) Windows 10 Home.

I got the "Donate" screen covering my messages; I donated but the Donate screen still mostly covers my screen. The part of the screen I can see has a different view (layout?) from what I have been using.

Sorry if this is already a problem mentioned but can't find it so here we go. If I receive an email with a link or several links and I click on them I get this noisy message saying there is no app associated with this link. This just started a couple of days ago. I didn't do anything different that I know of. Perhaps this is just a new problem with that awful OS W11.

So, any clues as to what has caused this and what would I look for in app association?

Trying to report a bug in Thunderbird:

Subject: Missing message preview/snippet in Thunderbird 115 (Supernova)

Hello Thunderbird team,

I’ve been using Thunderbird 115 (Supernova) and noticed that the message list no longer shows a preview/snippet of the email body. In earlier versions, this was available as the “Message Preview Text” column, but in Supernova neither Table View nor Cards View currently display snippets.

For many users (myself included), having a one‑line preview of the message body is an important part of quickly scanning the inbox — it’s a feature Outlook and other clients provide, and it makes Thunderbird much more efficient to use.

Could you confirm if this feature is planned to return in a future release? If so, is there an estimated timeline? Even a rough idea would help us understand whether to wait for it or look for alternatives.

Thank you for all your work on Thunderbird — it’s a great project, and I appreciate the effort that goes into keeping it modern and usable.

This might also belong under accessibility. Or how to organize the screen? At this point I cannot get some messages because there is no space left for it. This has happened gradually but now its impossible. I will attach a screen shot to show the problem. (I would have a tiny bit more room if I could get rid of that line of tags since they come on a dropdown anyway. Thank you so much,
