Hi Lots of my files on Mac have converted to Firefox (which I don't use) and will not open either in Mac, Adobe or Firefox. They are showing in my icloud drive but I cannot open them. And I REALLY need them as they are the source files for a website. I have no idea why this has happened, but would love some advice on how to fix it. I don't ever intend to use Firefox so not quite sure how it happened. Many thanks

As of Supernova update it would seem, thunderbird is unable to fetch favicons for newly added feeds. They will always display a globe favicon, instead of the respectful favicons.

Worse still, it would seem like removing a feed from the folder doesnt revert it to the folder favicon, but rather keeps the globe!

is there a way to force thunderbird to fetch relevant favicons, or add ones manually?

I belong to a number of newsgroups where I save technical data from that is in the form of email. 1. How can I save messages, with header intact, to a text file as I could with Eudora? 2. When I start Thunderbird, what email is loaded into memory?

What is going on with the designers of Thunderbird, and Firefox?

There was a time when they had these programs working real well, they were user friendly and intuitive.

Lately, with each release, more and more functionality seems to be push off into "add-ons"

For example, in Thunderbird the "Mark" button toggled the email as read or not and there was a little down arrow to the right I could click with more options.

Now, the little arrow button is still there, but it is always a drop down menu, so to mark a message as read I must make 2 clicks. I asked for help, but got a response to "try these addons"

There have been similar changes to Firefox.

Are the designers getting lazy and relying in third party people to do their work for them? Perhaps the new breed of designers are simply unable to it include working solutions in future versions? Is there a management decree to stop making these programs good, and off load these features to the end user (now I have to spend a lot of time researching a solution, and installing an add on that may or may not do what I want)

Perhaps there is some financial incentive, I guess it saves Mozilla labor costs of they can get volunteer third party people to do their work for them.

Is there any reason why the menu item text in the URL popup menu is so spaced out in FF 115 and 125?

It's the only menu I've found like that.

See attached screenshots. The one on the left is FF 115, and the one on the right is FF 88 (more normal).

Is there a way to fix this?

And also remove that "Add" menu item at the bottom?

The above New Zealand organization is recommending users to use any other browser than Mozilla Firefox. I have used Firefox for many years on their website and about two months ago it comes up with a recommendation to use another browser because Mozilla Firefox will no longer work on their NZ woke/local wank website. I contacted them to ask what the problem was and instead of answering the question they just repeated the message to change browser. I'm sure these local idiots are just being lazy/stupid so I'd like Mozilla to stick a rocket up their dumb-asses. As these twats are the local government lotteries commission I cannot partake of their monopoly online as they won't allow my browser. Please can Mozilla/community help? Why are basic features like editing bookmarks not in the app. On chrome you are able to click and hold on a bookmark to select it, then click and hold on it again to move it anywhere you'd like in the folder. Also there is no "move to" option on Firefox which would make sorting much easier, it would be nice to have such a simple feature like this for convenience.

I am now using Outlook (imap). When I try to permanently delete a bunch of emails it deletes them and then I get a synchronizing inbox bar and the 1,000 or so emails come right back into my inbox. How do I avoid this if I am using Thunderbird?

Example: Have 9600 emails delete 2500 and notifies me that they will be permanently deleted but they never are. They just return a few minutes later. Thanks

Somehow, the "auto-BCC" feature in one of my Thunderbird accounts has been activated. How can I disable that? When I open an email now (in my 'in-box'), it automatically fills in "To" and "From" fields. I no longer get my 'in-message' toolbar in the upper right-hand corner of the message window (tab). I also no longer get the notification that "Thunderbird has blocked remote content..." How can I restore this without deleting and rebuilding the account? I'm sure this was mistakenly activated but it needs to go away!!!

On a further note, I have found that if I move a message from my in-box to ANY other folder, I get the normal message view, with all the correct toolbars and indications and controls! Attached are the correct and incorrect screenshot of the same message, just in different folders.

I've tried every single one of the settings options I can find including different Ports etc but I still cannot send emails (I can receive them though): "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.optusnet.com.au failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again." I'm going nuts! This has only become an issue since the Optus outage and they won't help - they just blame Firefox.

I would like to change the url border color when it has the focus to blue.

The code below works, except when you press Escape.

After hitting Escape, the urlbar still has the focus but its border changes back to gray. It should remain blue.

I would also like to remove the box-shadow after pressing Escape, when the urlbar is not expanded (to mimic the behavior of FF 88).

The url and search input fields also do the same goofy thing Windows 10 does - the cursor stops blinking after 5 blinks and remains frozen. Any way to remove that behavior and keep the cursor blinking? If not, no big deal, the other stuff above is more important.

Any code suggestions to get that behavior are welcome!

Hi All,

I'm trying to set the border color for my url & search bars to gray when non-focused, and blue when receiving the focus.

The following code works for the search bar, but the url bar is receiving a separate blue border around the gray border, instead of changing the color from gray to blue.

Can someone suggest how I might set the url bar to blue (just a single border, not the double it has now), both when it has focus and when it's expanded?

115.05 when I started.

I typically open Thunderbird about once a month, download my emails from a hosted website, do some clean up, write some emails, close Thunderbird, and do the same about a month later.

Today I opened Thunderbird, saw that it was downloading around 400 emails, and waited patiently, as per usual. When done, however, none of them showed up in the main window. The latest email did not change, was from around a month ago. When I ask Thunderbird to Get Messages it says there are no new emails to download.

Also, I had previously opened emails in the top bar from the last time I had opened Thunderbird, but they were blank, no title and no content. (See screenshot #2)

I restarted Thunderbird several times, no change.

I then upgraded to 115.10, hoping this might fix the issue, but it has not.

Since restarting Thunderbird, 2 new emails have come in and are showing correctly, but none of the initial 400 emails downloaded today are showing anywhere. (See attached screenshot #1)

I repaired the Inbox folder, no help. I renamed the "Inbox.msf" file and had Thunderbird rebuild it, no help. I renamed the "global-messages-db.sqlite" file and had Thunderbird rebuild it, no help.

All of the initial batch of 400 emails - and the emails I had previously opened - just disappeared.

Does anyone have any idea what to do here?
