For several sites, when i check 'trust this device' it doesn't work. next time i signin it still requires 2fa from the site. i've checked and the certificates do exist as i get a message saying already exists when i try to import. this is a very user hostile function. I do not have this issue with Chrome or Microsoft Edge!!!!! i hate to begin using one of these vs Mozilla Firefox to get around this but i may have to do so. my wife and i share access to critical sites so if i need to see her info or she needs to see mine, we both have to be available in order to access the site. Mozilla Firefox 'bug' is requiring us to do so and it doesn't satisfy our requirements. any ways to solve this issue is greatly appreciated. so far no 'searched' solutions work.

I recently purchased a new laptop and needed to migrate my old Thunderbird profiles. This is what I did: 1. Backed up profiles from old laptop 2. downloaded and installed latest version of Thunderbird on new laptop 3. coped profiles into \roaming directory 4. tested and successfully received emails and viewed all old emails.

The problem is that the Mail toolbar is nowhere to be found. Also, the calendar is missing. I tried right clicking on empty space and it only showed "menu bar" as an option. Attachment shows nothing in the toolbars option of View dropdown.

Thank you for your assistance in advance. Since I updated my browser, I've encountered some issues when trying to maximize the virtual screen in my tv. I use a Mac and connect the screen to a web TV to watch YouTube in my big tv. However, when I click to maximize the window, the connection becomes unstable, and the virtual screen disappears every time I click the YouTube icon to do this. This problem never occurred before. I would appreciate your help in resolving this issue. Please let me know if you require any additional information from me.

Every year I am required to update my university's net id password. Normally T'bird responds asking for a password update. Not this year; I am just cut off.

I followed all instructions from the T-help site. But it is impossible to update the "saved password." "edit" is not allowed.

When T-bird did ask me to connect via Google, see the screen shot, the next screen locks with a 403 error message, also attached.

I would like to continue to use Tbird, but this is making it impossible. My university's IT people had me download the T-bird again, but the problem persists.

Please advise soon.

I'll add an appointment ask for a reminder, but nothing happens however it used to work

I used to get a reminder email as well as a notice sent to my phone, but now nothing to include the folks I have invited to the event. No reminders for anyone. I have checked Notify Attendees and Separate Invitation per attendee on the Edit Event pop up the by nothing I do seems to work.

The goal is to get the reminder to the phone screen(s) and emails.

Since installing Ubuntu 23.10 on my new desktop pc, Thunderbird is failing to see the account details in .thunderbird I copied all the files from my backup into a new account directory (/home/cfi/.thunderbird/y4xyxmli.default), a technique that has worked many times in the past, but not this time. Previously, thunderbird has simply taken the settings from the backed up files and used those to connect to my organisation's mail server. Any ideas? How can I force Thunderbird to read the old account settings?

Hello, I did look for related posts but found nothing close enough to this so I thought I would create a post. I don't ever recall having this issue before v102 was introduced but now it happens once in a while but not always.

If I am in the inbox of my main mail account and choose to delete a message, it goes away and then reappears almost immediately. There is a box that shows up at the bottom right of the screen that says: The current operation on inbox did not succeed. The mail server for account (my main mail account is shown) responded: UID MOVE failed. This account is in Canada on the Bell Canada network so perhaps it is an ISP issue?

I have 3 mail accounts set up - all IMAP. If I close TB and reopen it, the message is gone as if it required the program to close in order to complete the delete request.

If anyone has experienced this and has any suggestions or tips, it will be greatly appreciated. - Thanks, Mike

Every few days, the index pane of some folder gets corrupted. Repair (right-click, Properties, Repair Folder) fixes it. Then a few days later this repeats, with a different folder. I have three IMAP accounts and this occurs on more than one of them.

Any suggestion for finding and fixing the underlying problem?

I am attempting to transition to Thunderbird. I have become quickly familiar with the HTML/CSS underlying the UI, and with the older userChrome.css structure for personal customization.

However, I can not figure out how to change the default background color of the message composition window -- which exists in a separate window from the main message viewer window -- from #2a2a2e to basic white.

Cracking open a copy of omni.ja in the app package, the only ID that I can find that seem to possibly be relevant is #messageArea, found in the following .css files:

chrome/classic/skin/classic/messenger/messageQuotes.css chrome/classic/skin/classic/messenger/shared/editorContent.css chrome/classic/skin/classic/messenger/shared/messengercompose.css

I have tried to override the default #2a2a2e color of the message composition area in my userChrome.css file, but to no success. (By contrast, it was easy to change the background color of the message viewing area with #messagePane)

I have tried the obvious step of changing the background color to white in the color settings option. Even after multiple app restarts, this setting does not affect the dark grey default background of the composition window.

Is there a name to this window div and a class or ID that i could access and customize through my userChrome.css file?

Today, most of messages have suddenly disappeared from my TB inbox, leaving only the most recent 105 out of approx. 18,000. I have not performed any operations (compacting, archiving...) that could have caused this.

I immediately invoked the 'Repair Folder' command, which did not resolve the problem. Further investigation revealed that the 'Inbox' file ('Profiles' folder) actually contains only 105 messages - seems like the 'Repair Folder' truncated the file!

Fortunately, all the messages are still on the server. My question: Is there a method to 'force' reloading of the missing messages?

I currently have a 'bad/rouge' session of Windows 7 Firefox (don't really know how that happened) open (7 'Windows', each with one empty Tab plus 1 'Window', with only 1 populated tab (Yahoo Mail)! I need to close Firefox in order to restart my laptop (strange things have been happening, including not being able to access the internet)!! I have 4 accounts with different names but all with the same domain name (name1@samedomain.com, name2@samedomain.com ...). The first one set up perfectly and works. The 2nd and the 3rd can't retrieve mail from the server (didn't try the 4th yet). The SSL ports are the same for all. The passwords happen to be the same for all. (I haven't tried changing the 2nd and 3rd passwords as that seems unlikely to be the problem.) When initially setting up the 2nd or the 3rd I get a "Sending of password for user name2@samedomain.com did not succeed. Mail server pop.yyy.zzz responded: [AUTH Authentification failed." I've checked the passwords on both the client and the server ends multiple times and they are the same. Then, of course, periodically I get a pop-up with "Login to server pop.xxx.yyy with username name2@samedomain.com failed. When I go to the Account Settings screen with the 3 accounts and click on each Server Settings one after another, the only thing that changes is the User Name, yet the first account receives mail and the other 2 don't so everything is correctly set up. As an aside, I CAN SEND emails from the 2nd and 3rd accounts but can only RECEIVE and SEND from the 1st. Any help appreciated.
