When I try to send an email on Thunderbird, I get a message following my attempt that my message failed to send, and it asks for a new password. When I put in the new password that I have just changed from my internet provider at Comcast, the failure to send keeps repeating over and over.

Thunderbird 128.4.2 on Windows 11 Pro 24H4

Has anyone else seen this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Messages that I delete - they get moved to the Trash Folder - are getting un-deleted.

I have Message Filters that move incoming messages to folders.

I also have a Saved Search ("virtual") Folder that matches only on "Status is New". The folder is configured to include the "Location" Column to list which folders the new messages are in.

When I notice that this "new messages" Saved Search Folder has messages in it - the New Messages Count Icon increases - I open it. I delete some messages in it. The Trash Folder only briefly has NEW messages in it - the New Messages Count Icon on the folder appears, then it disappears. Then these NEW messages re-appear in the virtual folder with the Location Folder they had before deleting them. And the messages are indeed back in those folders.

I don't understand this. It *looks* like the Message Filters are running on the Trash Folder and moving NEW messages (back) into folders and out of the Trash Folder. But filters should not run on the Trash Folder.

I am using Tbird 128.4.3esr 64-bit in Windows 11.

It's been running okay, but today I changed the viewing window to classic view/list view from card view.

Each time I try to open a message (which is supposed to open in a new tab) by double-clicking, Tbird opens up a reply-to-message window instead, with a warning on it saying: "A unique identity matching the From address was not found. The message will be sent using the current From field and settings from identity <<user identity here>>."

I'm on Macbook Pro Sequoia, 15.1. Everything was fine and today I updated to 128.4.3esr. I can't move my emails to folders. Emails don't mark as read, which in a way is true because I can't read them in the panel below as I always do, now I have to open them in an individual tab. This is horrible.

i tried troubleshooting mode but it turns off exchange which I need to see my emails which are outlook.

Is there a way to go back to a previous version without having to set everything up again? Thunderbird is vital to my work.

I have Outlook 2007 and downloaded Thunderbird last week. It is working and getting my emails, but it never imported my list of email contacts, and it never downloaded the 15 or so different folders and those emails in each folder that I have been saving old emails in. When I check the 'Import Tool' and check 'import from Outlook', a red box comes up and says "no profile found". What should I do???

Following a tip I got on this forum, I have backed up Thunderbird to a flash drive for years.

Last night, my flash drive showed only 23.7 GB after the backup while the properties of the original data file showed 31.2 GB. What is going on?

We recently got Windows 11 not really by choice. Could this be the issue? I do NOT keep all email. I just keep a lot and it has mounted up over the years.

I do not want to lose 7.5 GB of email messages as one of those might be needed. The back up took almost an hour. That also is not normal.

I've been using Thunderbird for years and never had any major problems until a few days ago. But ever since you automatically installed Version 128.4.2esr on my HP desktop running Windows 11, all I can get from Thunderbird is a blank screen unless I go into Troubleshoot mode. Subsequent automatic installation of Version 128.4.3esr did not help.

Afrer making a fresh installation of Thunderbird all newly coming messages are visible only under "All" ["Wszystkie/PL] folder and not "Inbox" anymore. I tried to review existing filter, visibility settings and folder settings however can't see anything what it could be the cause of this issue. I would expect as before re-installing Thunderbid that all newly messages lands by default under "Inbox" folder and only those for wich I have configured filter rules are moved into specific folders that previously created.

Thunderbird I'm having trouble sending emails to my pen pal in southern Germany. Unfortunately, it turns out that she has not had a virus program. When she sends photos, these photos are added instead of the photos that come from both private and public emails. This has happened a couple of times. Now it has also happened that a post from a sender – is shown as a commented post from Facebook on Thunderbird. I have contacted my virus program who says I do not have a virus and that I should contact you to find a solution. When I want to send something to my pen pal, the email is stopped by Thunderbird with two warnings that I attach. Unfortunately, I don't know what the warnings mean and don't know what to do. Therefore, I ask you for help, because there may be identity theft involved? Greeting Bente

Our email account is not receiving emails. I can send but not receive. It has been 5 days of the same thing. I have compacted the folders. I have deleted a lot of emails to free up space. I have made all users writable. Deleted emails come back as new highlighted emails in the inbox. The same message keeps coming up about checking being writable and if there's enough disk space to copy the emails. We are on Windows 7 Thunderbird 115.16.2 How do we fix this?

I recently installed Thunderbird on a new installation of Ubuntu 24.04 using the "Installing Thunderbird manually" instructions. Everything works fine except that Thunderbird doesn't want to use the Thunderbird icon in the dock. Thunderbird opens and runs fine when I click on the Thunderbird icon, but it then puts a new default icon on the dock that looks like a gear instead of just "using" the Thunderbird icon to indicate that the application is running. I've attached a screenshot. When I close Thunderbird, the gear icon disappears.
