I just downloaded and installed Thunderbird to use for my email because I have nothing but trouble with the Windows 11 Mail program on my computer. Apparently I've missed something critical in the set up because it doesn't access any of my emails. Even if I try to send myself an email it says the sending failed because the server was unable to access the mailbox. My email address is through Frontier, which uses Yahoo Mail to handle it's email. My email address is xxxxxx@frontier.com. When I check my settings on Thunderbird it has my correct email address for account name and email address, and under server settings it has my correct email address for user name, for server type says IMAP Mail Server, and for server name says imap.mail.yahoo.com. For port it says 993(default). I used to use Thunderbird on a previous laptop, with the same email address, and never had a problem. Can someone tell me what I might be missing? I will admit to being middle of the pack when it comes to being tech savvy, so don't get too technical please. Appreciate any help.

I deleted my only TB profile on purpose. My aim was to reinstall the TB software and ImportExportTools NG, so I could start over clean and this time connect to the new gmail account I had intended to use). However each time I attempt to reinstall TB, I'm told the profile is missing, and that's needed to progress any further. I am stuck. I am on MacOS Monterey, I am brand new to TB, and I am not techie at all. I did search profile-related advice and found a heap of info, but not that I could follow). Moving to a new (Win 11) PC I accidentally typo'd a password when adding account. Now I can not do anything with that account. It seems partly installed but does not show up so I can't remove it. Trying to add that account again I get 10 minutes if "checking password" then "Incoming server already exists". I tried deleting Firefox completely from Control Panel, but it retained all the old account data and still will not allow the account to be added. Have wasted HOURS trying to understand lots of answered questions but nothing answers my question. The only thing I have discovered is an "Account 2" "normal password" in the further Troubleshooting results, along with the two other accounts that are operating correctly, But I can not delete "Account 2" Appreciate your help, thanks. I am having my first experience with a Chromebook and downloaded Firefox. I got a tablet version, which doesn't work well for me on a big(gish) scren with mouse and keyboard.

I see from a variety of articles across the web that I should be able to install and use a Linux version of Firefox, but I can't find info on this here on mozilla.org Which is my preferred source when it comes to Firefox :)

So: Is there a step-by-step guide to installing Linux version of Firefox on a Chromebook?

So I want to keep my work life and hobbies separated. My plan was to have two firefox accounts, one for hobbies one for work. The hobby account is the original one.

At some point I set up a work account using my work email but when I go to log in to the work account I get the error 'Primary account email required for sign-in'.

I have checked my hobby account and that email is not associated with it. It should be a separate account yet I can't log into it or even delete the account and start again because of the 'Primary account email required for sign-in'.

Anyone got a fix for this?

I've just installed Thunderbird, hoping to create a local backup for several years' worth of email on yahoo's server. It dutifully downloaded the last two years' worth... and then stopped. It continues to pick up any new messages that arrive, but nothing I do will get it to download any more of the past messages. What can I do to finish the process?

I have copied my Profiles folder, complete with the Installs.ini and Profiles.ini files from my W10 desktop to a new W11 machine. I went through choice of default startup process. Firefox starts and works OK. Except that the stored log-ins and passwords are not available – i.e. when I try to access a familiar website I am asked for my user name and password. Is there some other step to get the stored log-ins activated?

My Dell Latitude originally came with Windows 7, I upgraded it to Windows 10 and I keep getting an error while tring to install the latest version of Thundebird. "sorry, Thunderbird can't be installed. This version of Thunderbird requires Microsoft Windows 7 x64 or newer. Please click the OK button for additional information."

I am trying to setup firefox to my liking automatically To this end, I am using "firefox profile maker" and it works great but I'm having issues adding all the add-ons that I like.

Only the add-ons that are included in ffprofile make seem to install properly (but also, now I can't uninstall them ??)

Anyway here is my full process for installing firefox automatically and then configuring it automatically. Perhaps you can hep me figure it out.

First I install firefox automatically using the offline installer (my computers do not have access to internet by default, I must whitelist each computer, then individual software then individual websites first)

So, I obtain the offline installer from this URL https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/111.0/win64/en-CA/Firefox%20Setup%20111.0.exe

Next I have used the website https://ffprofile.com/ to create a pre-made profile

This yields two files, and their contents profile.zip

Next, I have pre-downloaded added all the add-on files I would like to install to the add-on folder However, when I perform the procedure, only canvas blocker and uBlock0 get installed

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. If I take all the add-on files, dump them all into firefox, it opens 16 tabs On each tab I can now click add and click okay, if I do it right and quick enough, they all install, unless I miss one.

That's over 50 clicks and very annoying !

First off, I am using Windows 10 and TB 102.6.1, Thunderbird needs to use the GoDaddy outlook Office 365 server on the Webb. When I try to install TB 102.8.0 or TB 102.9.0 all seems to install fine. When I then go to use TB, I get an error "Authentication failure while connecting to server outlook.office365.com". When I re-install TB 102.6.1, all works again. I'm 76 and this stuff seems to be going over my head. Any ideas of what I need to do? BTW, my account for Gmail mail works fine but does not use any outlook settings

Hey, just got a new phone and I want to mass migrate all of my tabs in old phone to new one but apparently Samsung Switch can't do that, and neither Firefox sync does. Do I have to open every tab one-by-one by hand or is there a shortcut to send all of my old phone tabs to new one ?

Just installed on iMac running Ventura 13.2.1. Web pages that are used repeatedly show jumbled text in important places. It's as though something has been encrypted but not un encrypted. Any ideas, before I have to go back to Chrome or Safari? Screenshot of example attached
