I accepted update to Thunderbird version 60.0 but my Add-on has been disabled as non-compatible (Magyar (HU) Language Pack (Thunderbird) 52.0 and Français Language Pack (Thunderbird) 52.0.). When trying to find Add-on, same versions I have already are proposed and they are no more compatible with Thunderbird version 60.0 What can I do to have again spelling check available in French and Hungarian? My husband and I have identical Thunderbird installations on identical Windows 7 machines, and for years we have been using 'QuoteAndComposeManager version 0.4.1. This allows us to set a 'pause' of 20 seconds between the time we click on Send and the email actually gets sent (it's amazing how many errors you can find in 20 seconds). This feature is still working fine on my machine, but on his it has been disabled with the message that it is incompatible with Thunderbird 60.3.0.

Two questions here: My update history shows that I am set for automatic updates, but the last one was to version 52.9.1 on 16 July 2018. This probably explains why I can still use the QandCManager, but why are we getting updates at different times?

More importantly, is there some other add-on that we can use to get this time-delay option? I have gone to the original developer's website but he does not seem to have a later version.

My Thunderbird version 52.9.1. First language = French Cannot upload DUTCH language package (as second language) because last version of complementary module appears to be corrupted. BA Brussels - Belgium 19-07-2018

I am using Ubuntu 18.04 with latest Thunderbird (52.8.0). Normaly (in older verions of Thunderbird, like the one in Ubuntu 17.10), it was possible to just install a language like described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-use-firefox-spell-checker in order to use the spell checker in a different language.

I clicked on "Sprachen -> Wörterbuch hinzufügen" and downloaded the german language packet. Now in "Add-ons-Verwaltung", there is "Deutsch (DE) Lanuage Pack", and it is activated. Unfortunately, if I right-click on any text, I still can not change to german. This did not change when restarting thunderbird. For "Wörterbuch" (Dictionary), the link for download is not present (while it is present for other languages, e.g. Afrikaans), but the link for "Sprachpacket herunterladen" keeps beeing there, even if I installed the language packet.

There are other users complaining in the comments section of the language pack: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/deutsch-de-language-pack-thund/ (e.g. "Sprachpakete lassen sich nicht installieren. Anwendung ist völlig unbrauchbar!" means "Language packets can not be installed. Application is not usable at all." which may be an exaggeration.).

Is this still the right way to install a dictionary, or is the link to the dictionary maybe wrong? Can I install it somehow manually or by apt?

Before the Thunderbird 45.0 update came through, I used to use an ad-on called TT DeepDark. Since the update, I get an error message telling me that this add-on is not compatible with version 45.0. Because of a visual impairment, I depend on dark themes so that I can read more easily. I thought at first that it was something with that one individual add-on, so I searched for one to take its place. However, it appears that no theme add-on available through Mozilla is compatible with the latest version. Is there any kind of time frame for when this might be fixed?

I do know that things often depend on individual developer, but since every single theming add-on is currently nonfunctional, I know it isn’t something like dependent on an individual developer.

Is there any kind of workaround in the meantime? I really depend on that dark theme so that I can use Thunderbird more effectively.

I'm looking for the romansh language pack that works with the latest version of Thunderbird under Ubuntu. Where can I find it?

I upgraded to latest Thunderbird 60.5.0 on Windows 7.

Works great, but the message filters don't run automatically.

If I go and run them manually, they do work fine, but they don't run automatically like the used to.

Haven't made any other changes at all -- just did the update.

They are still checked off...haven't changed them in any way.

A similar thread says that they sometimes don't work if you play sounds. None of mine play sounds.

Only Add-ons I use are Lighting and Send Later and MS Office 2003 Theme. I had NO Glass, but that was automatically disabled with this update as being not compatible.

What might have changed that the don't run now?

Recently I installed Thunderbird on my brother's desktop computer. He has vision problems and I was trying to help him by trying to use a free program name NaturalReader to tell him the sender and subject of his emails. He was using AOLMail but that program immediately opens an email if you click on it. Thunderbird allows him to highlight a line in the Inbox, but apparently does not (by default) copy the line to the clipboard where NaturalReader would be able to see it. The idea was highlight line, play it, then either delete it or hit the down arrow to point to the next email. If there is a profile option that could cause this to happen, please let me know how to use it. If not, this option would be valuable to have for the visually impaired.

Both my wife and I use Thunderbird ver. 60.4.0. When someone responds to my email and changes the font to red so that the response can be more easily seen, I can see the red font on my computer. On my wife's computer it only shows as a black font. How can I fix or change her computer so that she may also see the response in red? Thanks.

I have several message filters set up for one of my email accounts, and would like to copy them to the other one rather than rebuild them from scratch. Is this possible? Thank you!

All of a sudden, I can't see emails that I know are there because the subject of a previous message in my inbox is underlined. I can find the emails when I search for them by putting in a recipients name. And when they show up the thread column exhibits a red flag (don't know what it means). HELP.

Help! I can't see the tiny font with the newest update. It is not compatible with Theme Size and Font changer. Please make it compatible or include a way to change the font size of my email list within Thunderbird.

I want to send bulk mails as bcc to all the recepients. On adding the mail ids from the address book all are being added as `To` and so I am forced to change them to bcc one by one. How can that be done automatically instead?

In "Account Settings > Outgoing SMTP Servers" I expected to have the ability to fully specify authentication options for each server. Conversely, I have discovered that I can only set the authentication method to "Normal Password" but I can't set the actual password.

Even though I'm using multiple outgoing SMTP servers, in "Preferences > Security > Passwords" I can only see one IMAP server and one SMTP server.

How can I set the password for the other SMTP servers?

This help bulletin does have UK English spell check.

what are they doing to TB? v60.3.1

the thing that made it great was the addons.

now most of the addons don't work in v60.3.1

brilliant - who's bright idea was that?

why didn't they look at the most popular addons and include them in the code, configurable in the options.

why wasn't minimize to the system tray the default? or at least an option?

who wants a big icon sitting in the task bar at the bottom of the screen?

why doesn't it start minimized in the system try?

addons provided all this but now they don't work!!!!

i can't find a version of the calendar for v60.

also the new programing team break firefox in nearly every release.

i spend more time trying to sort out the mess every time they update things.

now i have to waste time trying to sort out TB60

time to look for alternatives to both i think. :-(

i have been using Thunderbird for a very very long time but this release takes the biscuit!!!! so very annoyed they are breaking it all the time.

will have to see if i can go back to whatever version was before, but that may mess things up so much it may not be worth the hassle. may lose all my contacts and emails!!!!!

may be simpler to switch to another email client.

also the write wind sometimes comes up in a narrow window, or sometimes things just dont work and i have to restart TB.

i want the exit X to minimize not exit, yet another addon that no longer works!!!!!!

Since upgrading to version 60.3 I have the following problem:

For composing messages I have set font and size to suit my taste. However, when I read my message in the folder "messages sent" the font is always larger. The same applies for messages received. Whatever I change in the settings it has no effect. Please advise. Thank you.

Please look at the pictures: 1. the image "Thunderbird Address Book scrollbar is extremely narrow.png" shows the new Address Books scrollbar 2. the image "Example of normal width scrollbar.png" shows the scrollbar within a particular Address Book

I can't find anything in Thunderbird that will allow me to change this. The normal width scrollbar is probably set in Windows settings.
