I'm on Windows 10 but still use Windows Live Mail. I used to be able to click the "Email Link" icon on my Firefox toolbar to automatically mail the current URL to someone using Live Mail. I can go into Options>Applications>mailto and link it to xlmail.exe but I can't add the argument "/mailurl:%" to the end of the command line so that it properly constructs an email message. This used to work - does anybody have a suggestion (other than finally abandoning Live Mail or Firefox)?

Thanks.

When replying to a long email with many questions, I would like to be able to answer each question in a text color other than black. However, I want the quoted text to remain black. When I change my responsive text to red, for example, it stays red until I move my cursor down to the next question, where my text response reverts back to black. I would like to keep all responses in red. Is that possible? I am using TB 68.7.0 in Windows 10.

This new feature is a useless annoyance in its present sloppy implementation, but there is no obvious way to turn it off. Is this possible?

Hello,

i have a problem with a personal webextensions, that i have written for my personal use. I add a new protocol in windows 10 pe registry (player://) and use this to start a special windows script.

My extensions put an new menu-entry on right click and rewrite the url from the tab with the the protocol (play://https://www.youtube.com/asanexample).

Now he does nothing in the newest versions of Firefox. I use

browser.tabs.update({url: "play://https://www.youtube.com/asanexample"});

and nothing happends. The tab.url says www.youtube.com, but nothing happends. But when i call

function updateFirstTab(tabs) { var updating = browser.tabs.update(tabs.id, { // active: true, // loadReplace: true, url: "play://https://www.youtube.com/asanexample"}); updating.then(onUpdated, onError); }

var querying = browser.tabs.query({currentWindow:true}); querying.then(updateFirstTab, onError);

and then an:

browser.tabs.create({

   		url:"https://example.org"
 		});

He loads the protocol page and the new created example.org page.

When i use tabs.create he call the protocol, like my old tabs.update code.

Is that an security change? But why tabs.update functioned when i call a tabs.create after it? When i must use tabs.create how can i seamlessly close the newly created tab after call the protocol?

I hope it is a bug in web extension;), why my code has functioned with the tabs.update() so many firefox version along.

thx

I have just switched to a new Macbook laptop. If firefox, when clicking on the bookmark star in the address field, the drop down box opens to edit the bookmark. When clicking on Choose Bookmark, the list that opens contains only 6 lines of folders to choose from. With my last few computers, I was easily able to search and get an answer on how to increase the number of lines from 6 to whatever I wanted. Unfortunately, I never wrote it down and now I cannot recall how to do this. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thank you!

Hello!

I was wondering if there are any plans to add a feature like this (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/addon/auto-tab-discard/) to Firefox? I tend to keep lots of tabs open at once, and I'd love to be able to pause unused tabs without closing them. But I'd prefer to avoid giving an add-on access to all of my data. So I keep hoping that this type of feature will get incorporated into Firefox. Do you know if there are any plans like this?

Thanks so much in advance and for the work that you're doing!

Once upon a time, Firefox used to offer a setting that permitted either maintaining visibility of the address bar or auto hiding it. This ability seems to have been removed now. And while the previous versions on Firefox Beta had a fixed address bar (prior to 2nd July 2020), the recent 78.0.0 beta 1 update has the address bar bouncing up an down... 1) it irritates me (I don't like stuff randomly bouncing around my screen) 2) it means I don't get to change the website address when I tap the bottom of the screen but get whatever links present itself on the website site...

There may be people who like an auto-hiding address bar, I don't. It is annoying and distracting. The solution is to make the auto-hide feature an optional setting the way it has been in the past. Let the user choose. In addition, this might then also re-enable my keyboard scroll which miss.

The tab view has changed too... - I'm not sure if I like the change (first impression negative, second view more positive - I do like the close all tabs button, at least that makes life easier) - however this is a different topic and lets see how it develops.

PS: I cannot seem to find the ideal place for feeback/a feature request brwosing this site on a phone... Or is there no dedicated channel??

Hi I have never been able to get Firefox to spellcheck in Facebook. I am using the latest version of FF and also of Windows 10 x64. I have the UK English dictionary installed. Does anyone know if this is a well known issue or peculiar to my setup? I've tried to Google an answer but only seem to come up with help for older versions. There are references to 'multi line' text and I've tried making sure I have more than one line but still get no spell check. I am able to see spell check for Facebook in Edge and Chrome, but don't want to chenge my browser! Thanks in advance for any help :-)

OK sorry about not getting right back, I ask for help then I don't follow through not the best way of doing this. So I have done some more exploring on this problem. I am not sure what's going on. So I am running dual display on a laptop running windows 10 . Seems to me everything is updated. So up on the main display (external display) it's OK everything seems to be great on it.

So if I go to the laptop display that's where my problem is. So what I have done is on max the window is where I get this problem. Min. the size window goes away if the screen's location is about 1" down from the top of the frame on the screen. If I move it up some just a little 3/4" it seems to be a small drop down window again. If I move it up even more not to the max but just up to say about 1/2" the drop down window gets bigger however it is still cut down with no way to scroll down to see the rest of the window. So what my thoughts are is the over scan of the video is too big? If so how do I take care of it? I hope this helps out. Let me know thank you for your help on this matter. So if I go to single display its all good on the laptop window.

UPDATE: So I have also played with other web browser, Chrome and Edge and I can't recreate it in those browsers. I adjusted the over scan so its not that. I can't get full Images of both displays at once to big of file.

Hi,

I am running Firefox 78.0.1 64-bit on MacOS Catalina 10.15.5.

I get these unwanted advertisements for Google and Amazon whenever I go to type in the address bar (see attached images). How do I disable them? I can't see any option in the "Search" section of Preferences or searching Preferences in general. My search engine of choice is DuckDuckGo, and I do not have an Amazon account. Why does Firefox think have a desire to interact with these companies?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Greetings and thank you for your time. I am so tired of every update changing how Firefox Android handles video and audio file types ~ MIMEs. I want a permanent setting to propting us , to ask us what I want to do when we click on a video or audio link. Maybe everyone else just wants to play it. But I don't and I'm sure I'm not alone. -_-

It would be wonderful if Firefox Android would have the same answers as Firefox for desktop specifically: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file#w_download-actions

Maybe I'm not searching correctly but I spent hours searching for a solution before posting this question. Also for previous FFA versions this question is always being asked after every update! WHEN will we as a community stop disabling the ability to control what we do with audio and video links! -_-

Please do not suggest a third-party plugin when this is an innate browser function!

Thank you for your time and consideration.

In firefox 77 I could choose different search engine for example duckduckgo as default search engine in private mode. In 78.0.1 this setting is missing, no way to search selected text privately or set different search engine for private mode. Only workaround is to go to about:config and enable "browser.search.separatePrivateDefault.ui.enabled". This fixes both problems. Is this still in beta and not officially available or are my settings wrong?
