I had to reinstall windows and it wipe Firefox.i didn't know my password so I resetted it. Problem is it wiped all my data. Didn't know changing passwords for forefox would so this. Anyway I can get them back?

Seems after the latest update Thunderbird will not receive some emails. It has stopped receiving emails coming from some cell phones and some .com emails. Some cell phone emails work and others that previously did do not anymore. I do not understand the random situation. No settings have been changed nor is there any setting to correct this. I even reinstalled Thunderbird.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I've been using T-Bird for some time now with no problems. Yesterday Xfinity wanted me to change my account password, which I did. This morning I tried to check email and got an error message stating the incoming mail server didn't accept my password - the new one I'm assuming. After several tries I switched it back to the old password which still didn't work. I'm giving T-Bird the Xfinity login password -- is that correct or is there something else that T-Bird is looking for? As a side note -- I just spent 8 days in the hospital and they've got me on a medication that really messes up the higher functions of my brain. I feel as though I'm in a heavy fog and half asleep. Any help would be appreciated... and THANKS~!

Archiving older messages:

I know how to archiving a years worth of messages -- one message at a time, or by selecting a hundred messages at a time IF they are all in the same folder. A painful way to archive dozens of folders full of a years worth of messages.

Why should I be forced to drop into a folder to select the messages? Why not provide a mechanism to archive FOLDER?

I'd really like to select Local Folders (recursive) and hit A to archive -- and be allowed to select Messages older than.

This allows mail to be stored/archived easily by year - and keeps the active Local Folders small and resilient (keeps Thunderbird from being overwhelmed with large folders that seem to bring the app to its knees.

I checked with my website/email host who show no problem. I was able to see new messages I missed there, so the site is working. I checked with my internet provider, Centurylink (DTTH) who says I'm paid up and there are no restrictions on my account, which shows active. Settings hadn't seemed to have changed, but I received 2 domain emails since then, nothing else. I noticed that the program updated right around the time of the problem, but it comes up and acts normally. 'tis a brain scratcher, it is.

A brand new windows 11 laptop. I've installed TB 115.9.0 (64-bit) and want to migrate a profile from another machine to this one.

When I try and do anything with the profiles (about:profiles) I can see the profiles TB thinks it has (several now after my mucking around), but in every case, if I click on the Open Folder button I get the message

C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\7654blah.Default User is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disk is inserted,.....

I have tried manually adding the folder it can't open into the profile directory, no change. I have tried creating new profile with the profile manager, but no folder is ever created by the application itself.

I'm out of ideas.

I filter messages to move spam to my trash folder. I don't use the spam & junk functions.

I'm on some oddball's list who sends all their spam in bold italics and an uncommon font.

Easy to spot but it's easily 30 a day. I'd love to filter them. I don't see a 'by formatting' option.

I have created a label library on different computers, but if I add a label other than the standard one on one of the computers, it does not appear on the others. I mean like number 6 Techniczne.

Thunderbird email setup settings don't work with office365 server in godaddy email. Their server wants STARTTLS with port 993. When I select STARTTLS in Thunderbird setup, the port changes automatically to port 143. This I can't connect to godaddy's IMAP mail server using Thunderbird email client. Is there a way to make it happen?

My sent messages are not being saved-error message says current command did not succeed. The mail server for plvltodd@cox.net responded TRYCREATE mailbox doesn't exist Sent .001 + .000secs

Sadly I had to thoroughly uninstall Thunderbird, reinstall and create new mailboxes due to some strange reason. In the past, the inbox would show the email list and, if clicked, a message would show up below a separator line. Now only the list shows up and I have to double click to read it which opens a new window. What a pain!

And yes, I know I can view the message page using F8 but it is on the right side and shorten the other windows.

Is there a way to go back to the view option I had in previously?

When I search with TB it is not finding all the results.

This is especially frustrating because the main reason I started using TB is because the search on my host's webmail is abysmal. But it turns out that TB search (for me) is even more abysmal.

I am sure this is happening because something is wrong but I don't know how to go about fixing it. I have already rebuilt the global database but that did not fix it. However, the new global database file is about half the size it was before I rebuilt it.

Is there anything else I can do?

I found this description of how to use a thunderbird email template online:

Open the template from the Templates folder whenever you want to use it to send a message. Make any additions or changes to the message, and then click the "Send" button to send it. If you don't want to send the message at once, you can select "Save" from the toolbar, and Thunderbird will save the modified message in the Drafts folder, leaving the template unchanged.

The problem is, that when I open a template (right-clicking to open it in a new window), I can't make any changes at all. I can't even delete the dummy recipient and replace it with the one I want. What is missing here? Thank you.

I used to have no problem opening messages.google.com/web/conversations to link my messages to my Pixel phone. Just recently the site will not open in Firefox. Not an error message, it just won't open the page.
