I am currently facing an issue where videos on websites other than YouTube are not playing. This problem is occurring on browsers like Firefox, Brave, and Opera, but interestingly, videos are working fine on Chrome. I have tried various solutions over the past 2 years, including removing extensions, using private mode, installing web media extensions and codec packs, but nothing has resolved the problem. I am using Windows 10. I would appreciate any insights into why Chrome is able to play videos while other browsers are not, and I'm specifically looking for solutions beyond the usual suggestions like removing extensions or using private mode.

In Firefox, when I type 'news' into google instead of getting a list of links it takes me straight to the Financial Times website. Is this an issue with google or is Firefox being hyjacked?

when I view a stock quote in Google Finance If I move my Windows cursor into the price chart and move the chart cursor to a new date or time the tab will hang. I can no longer move the chart cursor. Reloading the tab will no longer work. I have to delete the tab and then use History to reload it. There is no problem as long as I keep the Windows cursor out of the stock chart area.

I am running Windows 11 up to date and Firefox 116.02. This has been a problem for a long time.

West Virginia has a website to download old death certificates, but they wont load. There's nothing but a blank page. I'm not positive that it's a Firefox problem, as a friend of mine who uses IE cant load them either, however, she CAN load them on her Tablet. As a historian, I really need to get these records for my research, so I was wondering if someone could go to the site and see of the records appear for them to be downloaded. Some of the scripts are not loading or working properly, like clicking boxes and notifications on some sites. Most recently this happened on the New Statesman website, I doubt they haven't optimized their site for Firefox. Previously I encountered this on Gerogetown University's Management System platform, which according to IT should be fine with Firefox. I removed all the extensions, cleared the cache and cookies, tried troubleshooting mode, even reinstalled Firefox to no avail. I accept all cookies. Settings are default. The issue is specific to Firefox, Edge works fine. Please help, I don't want to migrate back to Edge.

I am Member of a motorcyle forum which allows You Tube videos to be embedded in Forum posts.

When I try to view a video, the initial video Thumbnail can be seen, but clicking the screen to play the video just results in the "spinning wheel" and the video never starts to play.

If I click "Watch on You Tube", a new Firefox browser tab opens and the video plays on the You Tube web site without any issues.

If I use a different Browser such as Chrome to view the Forum web site, I can click on the embedded video and it wil play within the Forum web site.

I can't figure out why Firefox Focus for Android is opening Amazon links by default. It isn't set as the default browser, as far as I can tell it doesn't have anything set to open by default. Usually I have the option to choose which browser to open a link with because I have multiple browsers installed.

I'm using a Galaxy s22 Ultra running Android 13. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Various tasks have no effect , eg entering 'Duolingo.com' in the search field has no effect. Nothing is returned (screen remains blank - no messages). No problem with other search entries Also attempted link to my bank account similarly froze. End up by switching to Msoft Edge and completing my mission.

If I go to https://media.telstra.com.au/home.mobile.android.html using Firefox and then click on the "Webmail" button, I'm taken to https://email.telstra.com/login from which I am unable to log-in.

However, if I do the same using Safari as a browser, I'm taken to a page entitled myid.telstra.com (with a lock symbol in front of it), from which I CAN log-in.

Can anyone offer an explanation. Note, this situation with Firefoix kind of happened overnight some period ago - I had been successfully logging in using Firefox for months/years befoe hand.

The google search bar on the homepage doesn't work, just does an infinite load, the same with google.com. The extensions I have are AVG Online Security, Malwarebytes, and AVG Anti-Tracking. The version is the latest version 116.0.1

My Mac (desktop) crashed and after that, my bookmarks disappeared. I redownloaded Firefox and logged in, but I could not find my bookmarks. So I tried to rebuild my bookmark toolbar but realized all the websites were already bookmarked (each bookmark star was blue).

Just to experiment, I opened Firefox from the external location (that is used for external hard drives, etc.) WITHOUT DOWNLOADING to the Applications on my Mac. Then I could fully see my bookmarks.

This is good but I have to open Firefox on the external location every time I restart my Mac or change the user.

How can I access my bookmarks in the downloaded Firefox as normal?

Hi! I just moved over to Firefox from a different browser, and there this minor thing that I noticed. Whenever I put a video on full screen, it looks like it alters the aspect ratio of my screen? Like there are black bars at the left and right of my screen instead of it filled all the way. Its very minor but it bugs me every time. Is there a way to fix this or not? Thank you!

I am using a Macbook Air M2 btw.

Prior to Firefox 116, I could have the normal scrollbar up and down buttons showing by making:

widget.non-native-theme.gtk.scrollbar.allow-buttons True

But now it seems to have no effect. This is under Linux/Mint/Cinnamon. Also, now long-pressing is doing smooth scrolling (I never want smooth scrolling anywhere) and can't find a way to stop that.

Seems like it is always a fight retaining usable scrollbars in Firefox that do not hide, do not change size on mouse-over, do not "warp" on left click, do warp on center click, have a thumb that shows page size, have a background that is not white, and are not microscopic in size! Just call me "traditional"  :)

I just got a new phone (Pixel 7a) and embedded videos have closed captions enabled by default in Firefox. Even if I turn them off while watching one video, they'll be back on the next video. I want them to just be off by default. It's not an Android setting as far as I can tell - I have all live captioning turned off and the video player isn't showing captions when I use Chrome to watch the same videos. Here's a link to a video that has captions on by default when I view it in FF for Android. I've also included a screenshot of the CC controls.

Google sponsored links (those on top of a Google search for a product) not working in Firefox, works in Chrome and Edge. The example link below uses googleadservices.com, which appears to be the problem. When trying to load that link, Firefox does nothing. The same link plugged into either Chrome or Edge works fine. This is a REAL PITA!

Error code: SEC_ERROR_REVOKED_CERTIFICATE For Xfiniti.com email (Comcast). I saw many other questions to Mozilla on the same issue, so it's not those certificates. Edge connects just fine, as does Safari on my phone. Mozilla is the one with the problem, and you need to correct quickly, please. I need my email for many daily tasks, and it will be a lot easier to move to another browser than to another email.

Ever since the latest FF update each time I start/re-start FF I need to resignin to Dashlane. Honestly this hasn't happened in over 20 years. I haven't been able to find any similar reports. Has and/or can anyone explain why and hopefully provide an answer/work around? Thanks anyone/everyone.
