I have 4 accounts set up in Thunderbird, no issues (2 pure gmail, 1 Google gsuite account (the problem account), and 1 hotmail). I am trying to set up the gsuite email account that I was assigned that uses the Google gsuite. This works in Windows 10, but in this email client on Linux Mint, the authentication options do not include oauth2.

Any thoughts?

The latest update of Firefox includes an incredibly annoying "feature". Clicking in the address bar brings up a drop-down list of sites: youtube, facebook, reddit, wikipedia, twitter. This is distracting and I don't like Firefox shilling for these other sites. How do I get rid of these?

Hello I have just updated from 68.8 (I think). When I restarted Tbird, I found a completely unfamiliar layout. There was something about new Profiles, which I did not understand (I've been a user since 2005). I clicked something that I hoped would work. At some point there was a panel that showed email folder location.

All I could do was to close and re-open Tbird. But, I'm still left with the same empty mail client.

This seems a very drastic change for a 'point release'.

If anyone can help me, I'd love to be able to see my emails. It's kind of critical...

Regards, John

Hello, Starting yesterday, Thunderbird fails to connect to several of my email accounts. It asks to input my password for most of them. I put in the correct passwords, but it rejects them. I have checked with the account website (Outlook/Hotmail) and I am definitely using the correct passwords. Thunderbird is useless, now. But I'd like it to work if possible. Could anyone suggest what's happening and how it can be fixed, please? Thank you.

I have been a long time Firefox user, mainly on my 10 year old iMac. Purchased a new iMac this spring and installed Firefox. Everything was fine for the first month or so, then problems started popping up. Spinning rainbow, bouncing icon with no connection, dead in the water responses from browser, etc. None of these which ever happened with the old machine. Apple support wasn't much help since Firefox is a third party program. Tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox and it worked fine for a couple of weeks, then the same problems started again. Have run a couple of virus and malware programs to be sure there were no problems.

Pretty frustrated at this point, don't really want to use Safari unless absolutely necessary, and haven't gotten near Chrome for years. Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks, Joe

I always have trouble remembering where to go to request a feature vs report a bug. I couldn't find "feature request" so here I am.

When I save a bookmark by clicking the star, I get a drop down box. I have "Show editor when saving" checked. I then want to search for the folder in which to save my bookmark and so I hit the down arrow on the right. This expands the window to show some folder. However, the window is small and you have to keep clicking and scrolling. It would be so much better if the window was resizeable so I could expand it (after all isn't that why they are called windows?) or if I could enter the full bookmark editor. Then I could quickly and easily find the folder I am looking for. The attached image shows the tiny fixed sized window that Firefox presents.

Thank you.

Hello,

I recently switched from outlook to gmail. With that i exported all my old mails and took them with me. I did this via some app that google built (g suite migration tool).

The process went very smooth at first, but then i noticed that i got 2-3x duplicate of each mail imported.

After searching for alternatives to fix this issue i noticed that Thunderbird seemd like a good option. So i downloaded it and feelt stupid for not switching 5-6 years ago to it. It feels way smoother and easier to navigate and manage my inbox.

It also came with some cool addon to remove all the duplicate e-mails and it worked like a charm..... Until today. Every time i start Thunderbird it seems like its downloading all the mails from the gmail (IMAP) and i have to use the duplicate addon again and again to remove all the dupes.

Somehow it feels like Thunderbird is not syncing the "All mail" directory to the gmail server, because every restart it keeps downloading over 4 000 duplicate mails.

Am i doing something wrong or is it some setting i totaly missed out on? Or maybe i don't understand how the "All mail" directory works?

Thanks in advance

Correspondent sends me an E-mail with an Adobe .pdf attachment. I open T-Bird and the message is there without the .pdf but with winmail.dat in its place. I go to Cox.net home page, open their klunky in-house E-mail program and the message is there with the .pdf.

Why? How do I get T-Bird to stop stripping my .pdf's? FYI this doesn't happen with all users, only a consistent few.
