In my old Backup-Files I found some Mail-Files which I would like to import to Thunderbird (Local-Folder to not messup with current email-account). Some files works fine. But other are "empty" when I look at them in Thunderbird.

1. I just put the files into a new created folder (AppData/Local/Thunderbird/NewFolder

After starting Thunderbird .msf-files were automatically created, but some are still only 2 - 3 KB in size and are empty when accessing the folder within Thunderbird.

2. I already tried the import via Import-Export-Tool NG but with the same result.

The MBOX files looks good (when I open it via notepad), I seems to be pure ASCII My 5 mising MBOX-Files are 25 MB, 40 MB, 357 MB, 749 MB and 771 MB in size, so they are definetly not empty.

Thank you for help

Since the release of Beta version 89.0b3, Firefox Beta on Win 10 keeps reverting back to .0b2. I cannot pinpoint exactly when it happens; sometimes after 'hibernation'; sometimes after 'sleep'. Getting damn frustrating, and I'm not nearly ready to move up from Windows.

How the heck do I track what's going on? All advice gratefully accepted!

Hi, I accidentally DLed FF88 without checking the details w/r/t functionality.

Several of the changes severely compromise my ability to use FF for my job.

Examples are the 'view image' which is now gone from right-click and replaced with 'open image in new tab' --this disrupts my work flow. And 'save image to pocket' etc is not useful for me, but happens to be right where I normally click on another function.

Is there a relatively seamless way to undo the FF88 'upgrade' ? TIA

Is there a way I can detect a pending update and restart firefox? I'm on MacOS. We're updating browsers in an enterprise environment and we allow automatic update but the user doesn't restart the browser to complete the update. If there's a way to detect this I can prompt the user myself. Unless there's a policy I can enforce that would work better.

Hi all,

Is that a way to automatically upgrade Firefox without starting it? I've got GPOs in place to autoupdate it (set "application autoupdate" to 'enabled' and "disable update" to 'disabled'), but still not being able to upgrade if not using it.

I've got several users with other browsers and if they not use Firefox, it seems that the version is not upgrading and could be a lack of security.

What I am missing?

Thanks for your reply.

I'm finally migrating onto a new mail program, but it seems to me that I can't import .eml files into Thunderbird 78.10.0 and the guide in the community links to a add-on tool for the 60 version called ImportExportTools 3.3.2 but it isn't compatible with my version. Is there any other add-on you recommend for doing the job??

I observed a temporal correlation: for 2 times after installing Thunderbird all Office-Programs could not be accessed anymore (see attached picture). As we found no other solution we had to re-install Office completely. Is it possible that running "Thunderbird Setup 78.9.1.exe" destroys an existing Office 365?

(I did not observe this problem when I installed Thunderbird before, more than 3 months ago.)

Thanks, Falk

I've migrated everything from an old desktop to a new desktop and this is being written on the new one. Firefox has been transferred and all my bookmarks have made the move accurately. However, my entire list of log-ins, passwords, add-ons, etc., have NOT made the move. So my question is about how to transfer those, but my situation is slightly abnormal.

I do not have a smart phone. Further, I cannot set up the old desktop and the new desktop so they both function at the same time. However, I do have complete backups in the cloud. What I need is the name of the Firefox file(s) that I can obtain from the cloud and insert into the Firefox iteration I have running on the new desktop.

If I was able to synch a transfer would be easier. But it can't be all that much harder if I can get the name and location of the necessary profile folder or file.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Old Mac needs browser. I know it is not the best, but what is the version number of Firefox that will run on PowerPC. This is the last model and the highest OS for PowerPC. If you know where to download the most recent (haha) version of any browser that will run on this machine, please let me know that also. Many sites that say they can download old Safaris versions no longer function, just zombie pages.

GoDaddy has migrated us all to Office365 as their email server. I'm able to receive email on my Thunderbird on Mac Big Sur 11.0, but when I send email, it asks for the password and then rejects it. I tried changing the password in GoDaddy, tried restarting the computer, and GoDaddy's support chat was not helpful. Is this a Thunderbird issue? I see from three years ago that Thunderbird did not support Microsoft's proprietary authentication stuff, but the settings all seem to be available now that match GoDaddy's specs. Thoughts?
