I've been having trouble staying signed into my homepage (MSN). Every time I close Firefox I get signed out so that when I open Firefox I have to sign in to my homepage again. My other sites are still signed in (yahoo, Facebook) It is only MSN. This is something I've been having trouble with for awhile. I did get it to work last month but I signed out to use another account and when I signed back into my usual account again it will no longer keep me signed in. All other browsers will keep me signed in and my other computers keep me signed into MSN using Firefox. I don't know how I got it to work last time. I've tried making a new Firefox Profile, Reinstalling Firefox, Clearing all Mozilla files including regedit files, Restarting my pc and doing a fresh install without connecting to my Firefox account still no luck. I'm at a loss. I think last time I did something with some cookies file splith? spilf? I don't remember what it's called or where I even read about it. I'm hoping someone can help me. I've had to start using Chrome again but I'd prefer to go back to my Firefox.

Firefox started crashing with recent 47.0 update. Has continued with 47.0.1

Tried disabling all addons and also my Comodo Internet Security Premium.

As soon as Facebook loads, FF crashes. Other sites work fine. I can open Facebook in Chrome, so it is not a problem with Facebook or my internet connection.

Here are the some of the last several crash reports:

Hi wonderful Support People,

I know this fault has been raised innumerous times previously. But for me? Currently a problem.

My 'Server Not Found' error has increased greatly in frequency since moving across to Windows 10 x64 (from Win 7 x64), which simultaneously included installing a new version of Firefox in early June and subsequently updated to current 47.0.1.

At first I blamed the websites themselves (server down?), but as it became more persistent I tested the same website with a different browser and all was fine.

I have attempted almost all the suggestions listed in the FAQ Help section topic for this error type (including turning off Firewall, Disabling all browser extensions & add-ons, clearing Cache, DNS Prefetching, Checked for Malware). The only step I have yet to take is "Reset Firefox" due to it's last resort nature.

Often a website that cannot be accessed due to "Server Not Found" can successfully be accessed a short time later (within 30 minutes) without adjusting a single browser or system setting.

It's not a constant problem as 95% of the time websites connect without issue, but it is a problem.

Yours faithfully, Jason

Currently running 47.0.1 on WinXP. Within the last week, each time I start Firefox, I get a popup "bubble" informing me that an update (47.0.2) is available for download and install. However, I cannot find any info about such an update - it's not listed among the "Firefox Releases". In addition, when the update window displays, there is a link to "additional information about this release" (release notes) that does not work.

Is 47.0.2 a real update or should I be concerned about a possible virus/malware?

Greetings. I run the latest Firefox on Win7/64 with only three add-ons (Flash Video Downloader, Ghostery, Skype). Of these, only Ghostery really matters to me. If there is any real evidence that any of these is causing my problem (please see below), then I'll be happy to discard it/them and prove you right.

Please forgive my detailing my environment, but I've learned the hard way that I'll be slammed if I don't. The next few paragraphs describe my context. Please bear with me.

My PC is not state-of-the-art but still hums: Dell XPS 8300 heavily modified, i7-2600@3.4GHz, 16GB RAM, Crucial 960GB SSD, WD 3TB Black user data, AMD Radeon R9 200, User Experience 7.6. Yes, I do run Win10, but only under VMware Workstation v12 Pro. Let's not go there. Thank you.

I learned years ago to relocate my Mozilla FF/TB profiles to my user data drive and back them up daily. Yes, I have recreated my FF environment more than once by creating a new FF profile - but always based upon a previous JSON file. Only FF settings and bookmarks matter to me. I can recreate settings in 10 seconds. The only real issue is bookmarks. Perhaps there is a more substantive recovery mechanism that you can suggest? Further, I manually back up bookmarks daily (both JSON and HTML). Yes, I know how to Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > {Backup...,Restore,Import Bookmarks from HTML...,Export Bookmarks to HTML...}. I use these features SEVERAL times per day. The problem, of course, is granularity: these features are "all or nothing". The issue lies below.

Over the years, I've built up over 6,000 bookmarks in ~300 top-level folders with decent distribution across lower-level folders. I have few sub-trees with more than 50 bookmarks in a leaf folder. Yes, I know something about unbalanced tree structures. FWIW, It's clear that I'm beginning to tax the FF bookmark system: about a year ago, despite all apps on SSD, launching FF and rendering the left pane of top-level bookmark folders has gone from virtually instantaneous (< 250ms) to 3-5 seconds. Perhaps a red flag?

On average, I add 25-100 bookmarks daily: mostly (in these trying days of political madness :-) somewhere in a 3-tier tree (politics > 2016 Presidential campaign > {Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, SCOTUS, whatever}... but always a dozen or so in other established folders (health, computing, photography, whatever).

So... FINALLY (don't you hate that adverb in headlines?) to my issue. I'll try to save a bookmark to some (sub-)folder... only to see that it's missing. That (sub-)folder is never the last - even (N-)penultimate - that I might have accessed that day. Today, for example, when finally I've had enough and decided to appeal to you experts, I had saved several DOZEN bookmarks in politics/computing/Tesla/whatever and then tried to save another in "health"... only to discover that it... was. not. there.

I won't try to detail the deficient recovery process that one must undertake in these situations. I guess I would be - grudgingly - willing to search back in my daily JSON/HTML backups to find that last extant instance of "health" (in this case)... but JSON files - as far as I am aware - do not appear to be easily decomposable into (folders and folders of folders of) bookmarks. Of course, I can open the full bookmarks HTML backup file in MS Word... but toward what end? Is there some simple trick - of which I am unaware - whereby I could clip an HTML segment of (folders and folders of folders of) bookmarks and re-insert it into my current Firefox bookmark structure?

So. Here is my hierarchy of needs:

1. FF bookmark manager should just work: not lose (folders of) bookmarks. Well, no doubt, of course, the crowd will slam me that it's all my fault. OK. If so, how? I am willing to learn better how to use Mozilla Firebox bookmarks. But how?

2. Failing that, how can I clip a now-missing bookmark folder (quite likely with a significant bookmark folder tree beneath) from yesterday's JSON/HTML files and re-import it to repair today's data base?

3. Failing that, what are my options? Frankly, I'm now looking at switching browsers, using Evernote/Word/Notepad/bookmarkmanagers to manage bookmarks, etc. Early research suggests greatly reduced reliability and user experience in all of those scenarios.

Thank you for your patience. I am a retired software engineer (but never at the web level) and would be happy to participate in whatever debugging/logging/alternative trial(s) that might resolve this situation. Frankly, I've reached the point where I can no longer trust Firefox!

Best regards,

An older version of Adobe Flash (ver 21.0.0.242) is causing havoc with the latest version of FireFox (ver 47.0.1). I have gone to the Adobe web site and downloaded the installer file for both Adobe Flash and Adobe Reader (also outdated). Before installing these files, I right click on the file and select Properties>Unblock to install them. I also suspend my Anti-virus software to give me enough time to install the files. However, when I attempt to install the files, the Adobe installer gives me the error of "Connection Error" and fails to install the plugins. In the past, the workaround to this problem was going to Adobe's web page " http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html" and downloading a different installation file of the same Adobe Flash version. However, Adobe has discontinued using this page to download a different installer and instead, redirects you to their download page to download the same version that doesn't work. Workaround searches on the web all tend to send you back to the Adobe Flash installer page and right back into an endless loop.

There has to be a simpler way of doing this installation process. Adobe doesn't seem to accept email support questions for their free software and other than the workaround listed above, I have not yet found any solution via internet searches. I'm having this issue on both my Windows Server and all my computers, even though Adobe is detecting the proper OS and downloading the proper file.

How can I install these plugins so that FireFox has the latest versions?

When I opened a new tab It used to load a jump page that had my basic history, and tiled thumbnails of sites that I had visited. Since the latest Update when I open the first new tab, after restarting Firefox this page now loads, and then goes blank. This is apparently Cached, and now loads a completely blank page when manually open a new tab.

This happens every time I Restart Firefox.

I used that Page to visit my Frequented sites.

I have been using the original Firefox sync for many years. A few months ago an upgrade caused my Firefox to loose all my customisation and revert to the default layout on both my PC and laptop. I was able to restore it as I had a backup copy of my Users/roaming Firefox profile, but it only worked if I deleted the profile in C:\Users\SS\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles first. But every time I try to use sync on either PC or Laptop now, the same thing happens - it reverts to the default look and settings. I have been waiting and watching if anyone else reports the same problem and there is a fix, but I haven't seen anything. I'd like to get my sync working again the way it should. Hope you can assist.

Followed all the instructions from a few different pages, changing date time zones, refreshing firefox, etc... Yes, still the same message keeps popping up every time I try to log into the website in the subject.

Also, your website doesn't take you directly to a page that shows a user how to fix the problem shown on the screen- not user friendly.

Attached is a screenshot of the message. Please advise me on what to do. I work on peoples resumes from this website and have deadlines approaching rapidly. Please email me if needed- you should already have that information. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

I've been using Firefox to access my ATT web client for several years. Today, several messages i expected were not displaying in my inbox. I contacted ATT and they could not detect any problems on their end. They could see the messages in my inbox. I checked out the ATT web mail site using Chrome and all my messages displayed.

What seems to be happening is that a new message may show up in Firefox, but if i refresh the page or go to the Trash folder, the email disappears. My Trash also shows 7 items but when i click on it, it displays "(folder empty)". Then, "(empty folder)" displays upon my return to the Inbox, even when there were items just there. I cleared the cache, cookies, etc. The ATT people suggested i contact Mozilla.

Am using latest version of Firefox on Macbook Pro running MacOS 10.11.6. This issue never occured before this morning. In fact, it was ok one minute, and flaky the next. And has remained flaky.
