I use IBM Cognos 11 for work. I prefer to use Firefox but every new release of Firefox fails to work with Cognos, at least as of ESR 68. When editing a report in Cognos Firefox throws: TypeError: _4SF is null https://dss.mm4q.com/ibmcognos/bi/pat/halcchl_block.js 1

In the past setting dom.link.disabled_attribute.enabled=false in about:config would fix the problem but that stopped working around ESR 78. Is there any fix for this?

I had been using Thunderbird + Enigmail + Gpg4win + Yubikey to sign and encrypt my emails and the setup worked pretty well. However, after updating to Thunderbird 78, which has built-in OpenPGP support, I'm having trouble to configure it to work with my Yubikey.

Following is my GPG keyring:

PS C:\Users\DDoSolitary> gpg -K --keyid-format long C:/Users/DDoSolitary/AppData/Roaming/gnupg/pubring.kbx

sec# ed25519/50268311C7AD3F62 2017-09-02 [SC]

The master key is kept offline and the subkeys are stored in my Yubikey and are used to sign/encrypt messages.

What I've tried:

1. Enable "mail.openpgp.allow_external_gnupg" according to https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:OpenPGP:Smartcards 2. Add my key ID to in the "End to End Encryption" section of Account Settings (I've tried key ID of the master key and the signing subkey, both of which don't work) 3. Write a new message, check "Security > Digitally Sign This Message", then click Send.

I've checked that the GPGME library (C:\Program Files (x86)\GnuPG\bin\libgpgme-11.dll) is in the PATH environment variable. As Gpg4win only provides 32-bit builds, I also reinstalled the 32-bit version of Thunderbird.

Unfortunately, I always get "Unable to send the message, because there is a problem with your personal key. The configured key ID 'xxx' cannot be found on your keyring."

I have, I am embarrassed to say, about 1,100 tabs open. A surprisingly high proportion of them are actually relevant to current projects or ongoing interests. As a result, when I set out to close a lot of them, I constantly run into things I need to do, and often end up with more open than I started with. Also as a result, my tabs are decreasingly useful to me, because of all the haystacks I have piled on whatever needle I currently want.

What I would like to do is this: 1. Group. Take my thousand tabs apart into project-related groups of a more sensible size. 2. Save. Name and save each group. 3. Open clean. Turn off the setting that reopens all tabs that were open when you closed Firefox, so that all I see when I open Firefox are my homepage and pinned tabs. 4. Open group. Be able to open only one or more saved tab groups. Ideally I'd like to be able to open a group into either the current or a new window. If I had to choose, I would much prefer to open each group to its own window.

Over the two decades or so that I have been using Firefox, I have set out to do this multiple times, both with Firefox itself and with various add-ons. I have never reached the point that I could do all four of the things above, and without all four, I don't have what I need to decompose my huge mass of tabs into meaningful components. I'm not saying there has not been a way, only that I have not found it or figured it out.

I suspect there is a way to do this native to Firefox. Is there? If so, could you point me toward instructions on how to do so? If not, is there an add-on that would let me do this? Again, I am looking for something that lets me do all four: group, save, open to a clean page, and open single tab groups in a new window. I welcome pointers to add-ons that will do this, but only from people who have actually used that add-on and know it can do everything I am asking. I have tried numerous add-ons that looked to me like they would work, but I have never been able to execute all four pieces. And I am not going to do step 3 until I have the other three down solid, as that would throw away all my current tabs. Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you. Warmest regards, Beanxx

Hi All,

Anyway - I'm on Windows 10 Pro and recently only a couple of days ago, I was having problems with the Windows Apps - where for example I couldn't open any jpeg photos, I tried re-installing the app but to no avail still in the same boat.

So I decided to do a "repair" of Windows 10 from the Boot DVD and install a version over the current one.

When I got back to the desktop and checked my Drive C where 10 was installed obviously there was a Windows.old folder and I remembered that I didn't back up a most recent version of my thunderbird profile.

I checked in the Windows.old folder for the users and I couldn't see nothing.

But I went into the users folder on Drive C in the usual spot and I found a copy of my Thunderbird profile.

When I went to copy that folder and fire up the application it wouldn't load the profile it said something about my address book.

Any ideas?

Thanks

In Firefox version 81 Blackboard will not display the courses properly on courses page see attached screen shot "Firefox problem.png".

Note that when I zoom out from 100% to 67% the second course description shows up see "Firefox problem Zoom out to 67 percent.png".

Also at the bottom right of both of the screen shots a dialogue symbol with a question mark is displayed, I am wondering if that particular coding or its placement is somehow causing the conflict. In addition if I click on that dialogue symbol with a question mark, it takes me to Blackboard's help which does not give me any guidance to resolve that issue.

Please help

I would like to access these off line if there is a power outage or something where the internet is down. Is this possible or can it only be one account?

Running Thunderbird on Mac OS, Vr 38.0.1 (Updates almost daily) Configured as IMAP Server with my MS account. Works fine for messages written and responded using Thunderbird, but if I respond to an e-mail on my phone or iPad, the SENT message doesn't sync in Thunderbird. If I load Outlook web version, the message shows in the Sent folder, but not on TBird. So when I'm searching for messages I sent or responded to, all of them do not sync with TBird. How can I make it do a real sync so that it catches all folders? Thanks Tony

The 'Site Information' that appears informing me about permissions is good to have, but while I'm on a website that uses my microphone, this tiny little tab appears that site in front of my tabs and can't be closed or hidden. I've tried to find a setting for it and can't. It just tells me the same information that the lock icon to the left of the URL tells me. Is there some built-in way to dismiss this? Do I need to try and find an extension for it? I know it's a very minor issue, but.

I am using T-bird 82. 0b1 - apparently this is a Beta version on W10 on an HP I7 with 8GB main memory. I am a former Netscape user - with you since 198...? Its an IMAP account.

Comment - I don't know how I came to be using a Beta version - its not good for me - too unstable.

Q1. I need MFA (Uni requirement) - so which version of T-bird do I really need ?

Comment -This version is slow/unstable/drops folders - don't like some features - T-Bird is usually so good -

Q2. Why does T-bird open up with with all the directories shown as expanded on the left pane - I have 60

main directories and many more subs - is this not wasting time dragging expanded directory titles about
? Stop doing this. Aim for speed.

Comment - I am recently linked to MS Office/Outlook 365 (Uni again) :-(

Q3. I cannot tell whether the folder dropping is linked to this or to T-Bird screwing up the updating ?

Anyway - T-bird has dropped the Trash folder on the left pane and dropped about 6 other folders in
Local Folders. They are in the IMAP " Mail" folder OK . I have tried most of the remedies seen on the
web. Nothing (easy to do ) worked. What is going on.?

Comment - Partial Remedy for Q3 in local folders. Suppose fFolder X lost. Create NewX in Local Folders.

Go to Find. Use Global search to find keyword for files in X. In my case the word was 'Erne'. Find
picks these files up (ie Find knows where to find Folder X) - convert the output to a list of emails in
classic T-bird format , copy to NewX. Check carefully that you have got everything. NewX works
fine. Later can delete X and its .msf file from Mail if happy (do not delete X immediately).

Q4. This does not work for Trash - Trash is in imapmail OK, and is subscribed, but T-bird does not show it

from the left pane - why?

Comment - All of this nonsense is a black art - you need a repair utility which fixes these problems - as a

user - with many deadlines - I do not need to be wasting my time on these problems. You
software guys can sort these probs out or better prevent them.

Q5 Why is there no password protection on Address books ? Each address book should be capable of being individually password protected. This is almost required by GDPR .

I could go on T-bird is good but I need more stable environment. On of the lost folders was a key piece of work - it was a shack to lose it - now fortunately recovered - but it took a day - what a waste.

How to Undo Firefox: "Remember this Decision" for Digital Certificate

Hi, I'm trying to access a Spanish government website which requires me to have a certain digital certificate imported into my computer in order to identify myself. However I made a mistake and don't know how to reverse it:

To explain what happened, when I went to the website sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/infoext2 to check on the status of a Spanish document, and clicked on the "consultar con cl@ve" button (cl@ve is the Spanish government's user authentication system), I was prompted with a window that asked me which digital certificate I wanted to use for the website. ('m attaching a picture of the prompt to this post)

Unfortunately, I accidentally hit the cancel button, with the checkbox checked saying "recordar esta decision" ("remember this decision" in English) , so now every time I go to this website, it doesn't let me present the digital certificate, it just says there's a user identification error with cl@ve (I think it's "remembering" to automatically cancel my ability to present a certificate every time I go to the website time now).

Do you know how to undo the "recordar esta decisión" ("remember this decision" in English) checkbox so that I can make the decision again and choose to present my certificate? I tried clearing my browsing data from the previous 2 hours but it didn't seem to help.

Let me know what you think and thank you in advance.

Also, the version of the browser this happened on was Firefox 68.12, as the Spanish government insists that only old browsers will support their authentication system.

Hi, since the new version, I am unable to use firefox to listen to my favorite web radio (https://www.rtbf.be/radio/liveradio/classic21) because it plays well as long as the page is open and screen active, but as soon as I switch to an other app or turn off the screen to just continue listening, after 30 sec or so, the sound becomes broken, as if the sound stream could not be downloaded normally. I had to switch to chrome wich with this problem does not occur. Is there a way to say to firefox not to throttle downstream when in background?(I searched...a lot before considering using chrome...sadly no fix yet) Thank you for your help... Hi, my firefox doesn't seem to want to launch from the start menu for some reason (when I click it the start menu closes but Firefox does not open and isn't running in the background), however the shortcut that is created on the desktop seems to launch firefox perfectly well. However, when I do open firefox, it has a blank default icon as if its a random program. Could someone help me? This issue is getting quite annoying and tedious and I've had to switch to edge for a while now. I've been using Firefox about a year now and this hasn't happened before.

Steps I've taken:

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, deleted profile data too
  • Restarted PC

Here is a screenshot of what my icon in the taskbar looks like: https://i.imgur.com/d8uAq8a.png
