Hi all - I wanted to share a Thunderbird customization blog I wrote after assembling a bunch of CSS bits and pieces via the Thunderbird reddit community. If this post doesn't belong here, please delete, I wasn't sure how best to share it.

Mainly the blog is geared to having Thunderbird look/behave more like Outlook or Windows Mail app etc. and for those you'd like to learn a bit about CSS coding.

Hi, it seems that my Firefox browser does not want to save a new payment method. I'm trying to access "Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Autofill" and then click on "Saved payment methods", which opens a dialog with the existing payment methods and options to remove/add/edit. I'm clicking on Add, filling-in the card details and then clicking Save, nothing happens....

I previously had a working saved payment method, but it stopped working (I think more than 6 months ago). I tried to re-enable the credit cards by setting the following configs on about:config page:

- extensions.formautofill.creditCards.available: true
- extensions.formautofill.creditCards.supportedCountries: '...,RO' -> (I was adding my country to the existing list)

After the browser restart with those new settings when I'm on a payment page, clicking on a credit card field will show the saved credit card but if I click on it, it will not fill the details. And also trying to save a new card, manually as described previously in this message, or by the automatically prompt to save a new card after a successful payment was done. Both methods failed on me but with no error (I cannot see the saved payment on the list).

I tried removing the existing saved card, it worked removing it, but the add is still not working.

I also tried restarting in save mode, launching Firefox in a separate profile and added my country on the creditCards config for supportedCountries to show the "Saved payment methods" button on new profile, and it did not change anything.

I'm thinking there is a missing permission somewhere on the disk but I don't know where is the payment data stored on disk.

I would really appreciate any help on this.

PS: Check the attached pic to see the payment add and clicking the save button does nothing (also there are no validation errors). And the other: FF version, OS, troubleshooting info.

If you experience horizontal lines appearing when scrolling after installing firefox possible fix is finding layers.acceleration.force-enabled and set to true after going to about:config in your address bar search for this and set it to true. My real question I ask myself is, why isn't this enabled by default when installing firefox? I swear I remember doing this last Win 11 install as well. My third time installing windows unfortunately, just had a nvme ssd drive fail on me. 😭😢 Ofc, it had to be my Gen 4, C: drive with my old User account on there as well. :// Lesson learned, always backup important data frequently as desired. :( Oh well, just lost all my saved games and few songs, no big deal I guess.

Using OSX 12.7.5 on two laptops and a Mac Pro. Selling one of the laptops. Removed personal data for Firefox by 'trashing' the Firefox folder in Libaray/Application support. Then disscovered that the 'Privacy/Security' folder in both the laptop and Mac Pro were now empty. Nothing else affected. Went into TimeMachine and restored the entire Firefox folder from a recent backup. Privacy/Security folder not restored. Anyone have any ideas?

When logging into a Wordpress site on Firefox, hovering over Username displays a gear (see first screenshot) which when clicked on exposes passwords and allows them to be edited (see second screenshot). This does not happen on other browsers. I'm on Firefox 126.0, MacOS Big Sur 11.7.10

Firefox interferes with Shift+Control+Command+4 which should give me a drag icon to copy an area of a webpage. Sometimes it works and sometimes Firefox prevents me from selecting a part of the page to copy and instead opens up a new tab. I don't want a new tab, I want to make a copy of part of a page. How can I disable that "New tab" function so that I can make a copy of part of my screen? Sometimes I have to resort to doing Shift+Control+Command+3 and making a copy of the whole screen, then putting that in an email so I can make a copy of just the portion that I wanted from the page. I am considering switching to SAFARI as my default browser because this makes me so mad.

I am running 115.11.0 on Ubuntu 22.04

I changed email SMTP servers, incoming and outgoing. First I migrated IMAP on the cloud between old host and new host. I connected Thunderbird using existing a profile, just changed server information. After that email started coming into Thunderbird. I discovered a bunch of the filters had been disabled with no destination folder. Not all of them. Just maybe half. It knew the destination folder for the filter because it was at top of window when I would look at filter rule. I had to use that as guide as to what destination folder it should go to, and it filters fine.

Why were all these filters cleared of destination folder?

Hyperlinked text does not paste into Thunderbird email. Only the text pastes in. The hyperlinks do not. If I paste in text that has several hyperlinks already embedded only the text pastes in. The hyperlinks are lost. I must paste the hyperlinked text with the URLs. How do I do this. All searches are irrelevant. I know hot to insert URL into new text but that is not the issue. My text to be pasted already has many hyperlinks in the text and I do not want to laboriousness do them all again. When I paste in a paragraph of test that already has several hyperlinks I want that ALL to past in. How to I do this?

No idea what the cause is but I cannot download ANYTHING on my browser for some reason. Pictures, documents, executables, browser extensions. Tried downloading documents from email attachment.. fail Tried downloading VLC... fail Tried every default recommended solution, clean install, you name it. Mind you all of these files downloaded just fine perfectly via Microsoft Edge.

Noticed another abnormality. Changed the download folder to a custom one. Download failed and DELETED the folder for some reason.

I'm so annoyed by these notifications for utterly random websites / "news" that started after a recent update (see attached screenshot). I don't want these, bit also don't want to turn off notifications altogether. Thank you!

When I try to download messages on one of several POP3 accounts I get the error message Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox. and it keeps downloading the last message I received before the problem started.

I have tried repairing the folder, clearing cache and even turning off my anti-virus for Thunderbird but to no avail. No problems on my other accounts

Hi I'm using speed dial 2 on Firefox desktop. On Firefox Android I have not this possibility to set custom dials/sites on Start page and new tabs. When I try to use the built-in function I see pages from history. It's a big must and huge update to integrate a facility like this.

Everytime I open Firefox a new window opens suggesting I add the AVG extention, when I do I get a notification that AVG does not support that extention for Firefox. Why is the nonsupported extention being recomened

I can't deactivate the dark theme (the Themes Menu is inactive!), while another user has a light theme and works perfectly.

In addition, the writing of new messages is in white text on a white background!

How can I solve this problem. thank you in advance for your help

I had implement service worker for install resources and activate service worker and fetch the resources at offline.

When online service worker worked and once serve the resources to the cache then it will be stooped automatically

but when offline service worker block the local host and can not cache resource from cache. I am using firefox

126 version on window 11 system

Any settings are required or help me what will do for offline working in firefox using service worker
