Can't permanently delete a folder

I permanently deleted all messages in a folder (call it "Unwanted"), then moved Unwanted to Trash, then deleted it permanently. It appeared to be gone. However the next time I opened Thunderbird, Unwanted was back. I tried this several times with the same result. I tried renaming it to "DeleteMe" but then I got the message "The folder could not be renamed. Perhaps the folder is being reparsed, or the new name is not a valid folder name."

Once again, I "permanently" deleted Unwanted and closed Thunderbird. Using a file manager, I found and deleted all relevant folders and files matching "Trash.*" and "Unwanted*.*" and rebooted the computer. However when I opened Thunderbird, an empty "Trash" folder was regenerated as expected, but the "Unwanted" folder was back.

How can I get rid of Unwanted? Thanks!

I use a Google Workspace account in Thunderbird. I have six main folders and each has sub-folders. I create search folders for each and favorite them so they’re across the top in TB. The individual emails then show up in each and I can chose to only show the unread ones. As far as I know TB is the only email program to allow this and it’s great. Recently I’ll be working away, pleased that I’m not getting inundated with emails, only to find out that I’m missing bunches of emails because the folders aren’t updating. I can open the individual folders and they’ll download new emails, which will then populate the search folders, but not getting to emails in a timely fashion is a problem. Anyone know what’s going on? TIA.

Hi, I've used Wondershare uniconverter for quite a while without issue. Recently, every time I start a download in uniconverter, firefox crashes/closes. I tried troubleshoot mode in firefox with all extensions and add-ons disabled (I only have 1) and also cleared cache and cookies. Issue remains.

Has anyone come across this and/or has any suggestions?

I have a problem.

I am using Firefox browser (version: 126.0 64 bit) on Windows 11 Pro. Audio is automatically muted on all Kick broadcasts. (https://kick.com) When I refresh the page or click another streamer, I have to unmute the broadcast.

(I do not have this problem in the Google Chrome browser)

How can i fix it?

Dzień Dobry Chciałbym poprosić o pomoc w poniższej sprawie: Posiadam Macbook Pro i zainstalowałem Thunderbirda. Niestety przy każdorazowym uruchomieniu programu wiesza się on na 1-2 minuty. Hello, Thank you for helping me with my email problem today. The issue that I am having is that whenever I try to send email from 2 - of my 3 - email addresses I get the following error messages-

Message from electric@triad.rr.com email.

I did read and try the various suggestions that this forum made to someonme in reference to a similar problem. The emails did appear to match in settings for SMTP and I think I temporarily turned off my virus protection software. However none of these actions have solved my problem.

If someone would please make some more recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.

Having tried to resolve so many issues and scrolling through all these multiple help topics, I'm wondering whether Thunderbird is just too problematic to continue with. For about the last month or so, I frequently get an error message that my password is incorrect.

I use Thunderbird to manage emails on five separate accounts. Four are gmail accounts and I NEVER have an issue with those.

The issue only occurs with my oldest email account, which is an ".msn" account - a paid Microsoft account.

I can send and receive mail on this account without any issues when I use Outlook online through my Firefox browser, but when I try to use through Thunderbird, I get the password error message more often than I don't. In other words, sometimes the emails go through, but most of the time they do not. When I copy and paste the text of the email into the web browser version, there is never any problem and I am NEVER asked for my password.

Every now and then, when the message pops up, I attempt to re-enter my password, but most of the time it still won't send, and the error message re-appears almost immediately. I have changed the password twice, but that has no effect on the error message.

I would be very appreciative of any assistance.

Mac OS 14.5 Thunderbird 115.11.0: The quick filters don't find content in the bodies of the emails in the folder searched. E.g., melissa would be found in the email address or subject but not in the body of an email and the window comes up blank. I have only run into this in recent editions of TB. How do we fix this?

Good afternoon,

I am not sure if the topic is the right one I choose.

My question/complaint: recently websites, although mostly websites from my bookmarks, seem not available or existing. Mostly after a few minutes and a new trial, the website comes back as if nothing was wrong. Could it be the last update from Firefox? I never had these "problems" (a big word for minor inconveniences) before and I use Firefox at least during the last 15 years.

Hello, Whenever I try to open something on Firefox, for example, the Library, I get the message "Mozilla Firefox (Not Responding) and it hangs with no immediate responsive action. I click on any Firefox button or tab and I get the same message and I get the blue little circle and I sit and wait about 30 seconds or more. The page or tab eventually works but it hangs for 30 seconds or more. It is frustrating. Please help.

If you experience horizontal lines appearing when scrolling after installing firefox possible fix is finding layers.acceleration.force-enabled and set to true after going to about:config in your address bar search for this and set it to true. My real question I ask myself is, why isn't this enabled by default when installing firefox? I swear I remember doing this last Win 11 install as well. My third time installing windows unfortunately, just had a nvme ssd drive fail on me. 😭😢 Ofc, it had to be my Gen 4, C: drive with my old User account on there as well. :// Lesson learned, always backup important data frequently as desired. :( Oh well, just lost all my saved games and few songs, no big deal I guess.

Firefox Desktop issue,

McAfee malware has entered the Firefox browser a couple of days ago claiming viruses have been detected & requires me to click on their popup to remove it. Additional warning follow and reoccur every couple of minutes. I don’t have McAfee Anti-virus software on my computer & have not installed any new software for some time. The anti-software I have works fine (Spybot & Microsoft Security Essentials) and detects no problems. The first application I initiate upon boot-up each morning is Firefox and that’s when the problem begins. It is somehow related to Firefox. I cannot find any processes in play.

I’m using Windows 7 Pro
