missing Rich Text toolbar in Yahoo email

Yahoo gives the user a choice between plain text and rich text when composing email. When using IE, the rich text toolbar can be seen just above the compose area. When using Firefox, that tool bar does not appear, and there is no opportunity to switch from plain text to rich text.

It is possible that the BTRS25248 in the user agent, that is added by an extension, confuses the Yahoo! server
