i have asked around and double checked my phone - but have not found any way to stop the home button (its the only button at the bottom of the phone). i feel there is no need for it to vibrate and as it is, the battery life is short in this phone.. so i want to stop the vibration and save as much battery as possible. hope someone can help me in this.

Hi venkyx, Currently I do not know since they are only available in India. However in the Simulator there is an option in the Settings Menu under "Sounds". From there you can tap off the Vibrate feature.

Thanks for your efforts and reply. Yes, this phone is available only in India. I tried to find from mobile phone service centers, and it looks like, Intex the phone manufacturer has not kept such an option. (Intex also has given wrong information about their service center addresses, or they don't exist at all). anyway, looks like internet is the remaining option to find a solution!

guigs2, I haven't checked out the simulator but the vibrate button only applies to how the phone reacts with notification/calls. I don't think that the home button vibration is disabled with that as well.. I think there's a bug on file for this somewhere..

Andrew, yes this is a good idea, it seems that way. venkyx, please include the following in the bug:

  • Build Id
  • Phone type
  • Steps to reproduce
  • What is expected
  • What actually happens

bugzilla.mozilla.org is where to file the bug and please post back the url to the bug here. I will ask about the support for the device.

Hi Andrew and venkyx, Currently it is known that version 1.3 does not have a feature to turn off the home button vibration. I understand that this is frustrating as well. However, the bug that Andrew found does address the issue in the Firefox OS github branch. And the changes made may or not be pushed to the device based on if they are ready. So in the meantime we unfortunately do not have an estimated time or date when or if this will change.

The good new is that we can add this information to the bug. However it is beyond our support to make that change to the 1.3 branch because currently only 2.0 and 2.1 are supported by QA.

By clarification, the way to contact Intex support is by their service centers:

I hope this helps.

hi guigs2, thanks for your efforts. looks like will have to wait for some bug fix. I have checked intex mobile service centers, and the address they have given for my local region is non-existent, and the phone numbers also do not work. i have written an email to intex in this regard, and waiting for a reply. none has come in the last 3 days. intex service looks like a sham at best.

Hi venkyx,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems contacting the Intex Service Center.

Can you please specify the State Name and City Name that you selected, so that we can forward this error to Intex through our Technical Account Managers?

Thanks,

- Ralph

hi Ralph, Its in Trivandrum district of Kerala state, India. i found intex service center phone number, and was unable to get through. my friend (who owns similar mobile intex fx cloud) checked around that address and the areas around, but could not find intex service center. if anyone can help in locating an intex mobile service center in trivandrum, it would be helpful.
