In a safe and secure manner, Firefox can store usernames and passwords that you use to access websites so that when you access one, Firefox automatically fills in the appropriate fields for you. Using Firefox's Password Manager, you can also manage the passwords you want Firefox to remember. If several people can get to your computer using your operating system user account, you can protect the access to your stored passwords by a master password. This article describes how to remember, view, delete and protect your passwords.
- Through the Password Manager, you can review the actual passwords that are stored by Firefox, which is helpful if you forget your password to a site.
- Choosing more secure passwords will help keep your identity safe on the internet. For more, see Create secure passwords to keep your identity safe
- Note: When the Password Manager is used to store usernames and passwords, this sensitive data is stored on your local hard disk in encrypted format.
