The WebRTC feature allows you to make video calls directly from Firefox - no downloads or account signups needed! Grab a friend and help us improve Firefox WebRTC by participating in this experiment. All you'll need is a microphone, a webcam (optional if you'd like audio calls only), and Firefox Beta.

Invite someone to talk

  1. Launch Firefox Beta.
  2. Click on the chat bubble on the toolbar or menu panel to generate a link.
    webrtc invite
  3. Use the built-in controls to email the link to a friend, or copy and send it through your favorite text messenger.
  4. When your friend visits the link and starts a call, you'll see a call notification:
    webrtc notification
  5. Click answer button to accept the call.
  6. Use the privacy controls webrtc privacy to mute your microphone or turn off your camera as needed.
  7. To end the call, click call end.
Controlling notifications: If you're not ready to receive a call, click on the status menu at the bottom of the window and set it to Do Not Disturb to stop all call notifications.
