Add the Search bar to your Firefox toolbar

You can use the Search bar on the New Tab page or you can search the Web from the address bar. You can also customize Firefox to add a separate Search bar to your Firefox toolbar.

Follow these steps to add or remove a separate Search bar:

  1. Click the menu button Fx89menuButton, then click More tools.
  2. Select Customize Toolbar…
    FxMenu-MoreTools-CustomizeToolbar
  3. Drag the Search bar item into or out of the toolbar and then click Done.
Tip: If using the keyboard, you can use the Tab and Shift + Tab keys to focus the Search bar item, and then open the context menu to add or remove it from the toolbar.

Note: The separate Search bar will be automatically removed if you haven't used it for 120 days.
