under any youtube video I was viewing there was a tab (on the youtube page) that said "download". with last Firefox update this has been removed. I want it back. how do I get it back?

Hi golfer,

Sorry for the slow reply and thanks for taking the time to thank us. :)

Please give this add-on a try:

Download YouTube Videos as MP4

I just tested this one on Firefox 22 and it works well for me.

Hello,

Downloading youtube videos is not a native feature of Firefox but you can add the feature using add-ons. I think what has happened is that you were using an add-on which has not been updated to support the latest version of Firefox (v22). Since it is does not support Firefox 22 it has been disabled.

You could try another add-on for example Easy YouTube Video Downloader which does support Firefox 22.

You can try alternate option by downloading Internet download manager from http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/ and install it. After installing it will automatically get attached to your browser.

i downloaded this. when I add it to Firefox is says it's incompatible with Firefox v22. v22 is messing with my "flow". I hate updates that mess with how my stuff was working beforehand.

hmm, wonder can I go back to the previous version of Firefox that WAS working with my "download" button showing on every youtube page i viewed. how does one go back to the previous version of Firefox (better question, what WAS the previous version of Firefox?). I am not liking v22 and have taken it off auto update now.

this link is dead. do you have another for this fix?

opps, i just reread my replies. if was all business and complaints. Sorry. your guys are helpers, not servants. what I should have said was thank you for attempting to help with this issue. THEN i could have gone on with how and why those two solutions did not work.

I would greatly appreciate it if either eddyc or basukumar2222 could give and alternate solution to fixing v22 to download youtube vids.

thanks, Eddyc. i did that (i was surfing for answers as I was listening to you guys). your solution works for Firefox v22.

there is another solution I found outside of Firefox add-ons that works for all three of my browsers (Chrome-IE & Firefox (my default). i realize this is Firefox community and this is not a strictly Firefox solution but solving problems is what forums are about.

YouTube HD Downloader: http://www.youtubedownloaderhd.com/ which is a stand alone application and it's partner "Youtube to MP3 Converter" for those who want just the audio of YouTube Vids. These smallish programs are URL based so they do not put back the "download" button under the video being watched on Youtube....the user just copies the URL and enters it into the YouTube HD Downloader program window. I find it about as quick as using the download button inside YouTube page that was lost on v22 upgrade. Be careful with install. stop and READ point by point what you want and don't want installed and you will get nothing added you didn't expect.

I'll most likely use your solution if Firefox is the browser if find myself in at the moment i want to keep a vid. I'll use the other if I find myself using Chrome of IE (hmm, it just occurred to me i NEVER use IE anymore).

this is my attempt to be as helpful to others as you guys were to me. thanks again
