If I put a bookmark in a folder then delete it from main bookmark list will it get deleted from folder. I tried it and it seems to me that is what happens

my main bookmark list seems to be getting rather cumbersome. I have created certain files and some of these bookmarks are in them but when I delete one of the ones off the large list it also deletes it out of the folder. How do I keep it from happening
