Unable to delete cookies/cache due to gray button
Cannot delete cookies nor cache due to a grayish button. First it works fine, after a few hours, buttons are gray.
Also sync seems not to work anymore when this happens.

The buttons aren't available until it finishes calculating the size of all the website storage. What is the size reported when it works the first time?
You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works, you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

1) If I restart the browser: it works fine, I delete the cache every day, the may be around 0,5GB +/- an an average day.
2) Suddenly the become gray/unselectable.
3) They stay gray, even after a few days until I restart the browser.
Are there any errors in the Browser Console (Ctrl+Shift+J) when opening about:preferences?
Does it still happen in a new profile? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile. Make sure you stay signed out of your sync account when testing.
Didn't test it with a new profile but I'm quite sure it won't happen with a new profile. I want to try a solution with the existing profile.
May it be related to extensions? Normally they shouldn't be able to intervene with superior process such as about:preferences or about:config, no?
I don't know if its correlated but I also observed that some messages in my (over the web, FF) e-mail account are unrendered.
