Hi, Happy New Year!

Finally I took a deep breath and hoping for no major surprises and bugs, I finally updated Firefox to the latest version.

I have a few questions:

1. As advised, every month I backed up info in the profile, following https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles Is there an up-to-date version of these instructions as the prior ones no longer work (menus were changed, Troubleshooting works differently, etc.).

2. Does the "Allow for session" option for cookies work and if so, what does it do?

3. Is there a way to change the way the TABs look now (washed out, white, very hard to see and differentiate, hard to see which one is the one I am looking at). I am wondering what is the perceived benefit of this change. In the old version I had, the tabs very clearly delineated and easy to see.

4. Where can I find a listing of the enhancements and major changes of the versions released since mid year 2021, from an end user perspective?

Thanks.

Most of the articles adapt their text and images to your Firefox version and OS. If they seem wrong, could you double-check the selectors in the right column to make sure the script that adapts the article is running correctly? Looks like this on mine:

If changes there do not have any effect, scripts might not be running (correctly) in the page. Try reloading the page bypassing cache (Shift+click the Reload button or press Command+Shift+R) in case an old file is stuck there.

I don't think things have changed since the previous threads:

Tab appearance depends on your theme, so you can try a different one with more contrast if the default theme isn't to your liking. See: Use themes to change the look of Firefox. Beyond color changes, however, we would need to talk about userChrome.css.

4. Where can I find a listing of the enhancements and major changes of the versions released since mid year 2021, from an end user perspective?

Between Firefox 89.0 (Proton release) and Firefox 95.0.2? I doubt that exists all on one page. If you look at the release notes and the articles on the gHacks site about what is new, you could piece it together.

Thanks for your very clear and helpful replies, jscher2000 - as always. Following them addressed my questions.

I really did not care for any "themes", just clearly visible tabs and clearly identifiable tab in use (which were perfect in version 86 from which I upgraded). But now I have colorful tabs that at least leave the one in use white, to differentiate.

Thanks again.
