Hi everyone!

Do some of y'all know why this keep happening?

For example: I'm logged in on two sites and now I close Firefox. I've turned on the settings ""Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed"" and I've put the URLs, for these two websites, in the ""Manage exception"" list and turned them on ""Allow"". I've also turned on "Clear history when Firefox closes" and turned everything on inside that setting except ""Active Logins"".

I'm suspecting its because its deleting the cache because I don't use any kind of "erase all traces" add-ons. I'd rather not have cache turned off since it quickly builds up.

The only add-ons I use are: NoScript ""Ublock Origin"" ""KeePassXC"" (not even related to any kind of blocking so I don't really have to mention it, but anyway. ""HTTPS Everywhere"" ""Firefox Relay"" Thanks Firefox for this incredible add-on! ""Decentraleyes"" and ""DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials""

If you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the cookies then this prevails over "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" and all the cookies are cleared.

You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you.

  • create a cookie allow exception with the proper protocol (https:// or http://) to make a website remember you

You can check that you aren't clearing important cookies.

  • using "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" keeps cookies with an allow exception
  • using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear cookies clears all cookies including cookies with an allow exception you may want to keep
  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exceptions for passwords and other website specific data
  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Exceptions"
