Used the fix for Tabs on Bottom but lost the top right buttons for minimize, cascade, restore, exit.
The above pretty much sums it up. I at least have tabs on bottom and haven't done any coding in 40+ years but I'll try some tweaks but would really like the above mentioned buttons back.

Make sure that you have either the window title bar or the menu bar visible. Otherwise the caption buttons would be placed on the Tab bar and this might not work properly (the buttons need to be positioned via a "top:offset" rule and this only works properly for a known Bookmarks toolbar state).

Assuming your "fix" involves the userChrome.css file ... Does the code for that "fix" have any lines that refer to titlebar?
If so, try commenting out - using /* */ - those lines, then start Firefox.
