I am installing Norton for logon support and would like to get all the passwords out of Firefox. Can this be done simply?

Have you already tested Norton and found that it works? If not, I suggest you temporarily turn off Firefox's feature and test first, before deleting your saved logins.

You can adjust the setting and delete saved logins off the Options page. Either:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the left column, click Privacy & Security.

Then on the right side, you can un-check "Remember logins and passwords for websites" to disable the Password Manager.

You'll also find the "Saved Logins" button to open a dialog which lets you delete saved logins. If you use the Sync feature, don't delete your Sync login or you'll need to reconnect manually.

Success?

Thank you. Simple when you know how.
