First of all, this happens randomly.

I will open Firefox program and sometimes there will be an additional search tool bar that is below the bookmarks toolbar, sometimes Firefox will start up fine. This additional tool bar is not something that I intentionally set up.

I will be browsing the web and ill notice that my cursor wont change to the hand icon when it is supposed to. When it does this, if I left click, then a new tab will open with some malware website or if I right click then a drop down bar will appear under the bookmarks toolbar stating that "Firefox has blocked a pop-up window"

I have checked my settings, extensions, programs, and windows explorer files and I have not seen anything suspicious. I have performed a Windows Defender scan and it can't find anything. Everything is up to date on my computer also.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

Hello,

In order to better assist you with your issue please provide us with a screenshot. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?

Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.

Thank you!

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Here is a screenshot. Sorry it took me so long, but I had to wait for it to do it again since it does it randomly.

When this happened, I was searching for solutions to my problem when I noticed that my cursor was not changing (it was just staying an arrow). So I then left-clicked on a white area (or any other area) on the webpage and it opens a new tab that looks like my screenshot. It doesn't always open up this specific webpage though. This is just one example.

That looks like ad-ware. Use the scanners I link to in my last post.

I did some research and I ended up downloading ADW Cleaner. It found approximately 60 threats and I went ahead and had it clean my computer. Unfortunately, the problem still exists and ADW Cleaner & Windows Defender both say that there are no threats detected.
