LastPass plugin not working

I downloaded LastPass as per instructions from their home page, was given the correct Download( Windows installer for Firefox (?) and everything seemed to be going OK. The browser icon even appeared briefly and I thought it was installed. The icon disappeared however , possibly after restarting browser as requested, I also received conflicting messages one that LastPass had successfully installed and a pop up saying Firefox was blocking, i allowed and the plugin is installed and enabled. There is no icon though on the browser so I can't use it to save passwords, which is the whole point. I have the 'vault' but cannot visit sites and save to Lastpass. I have posted on their forums and there do seem to be other people who have had similar problem. I thought I would ask for advice on Firefox forum as well , again there do seem to be a couple of people who have had problems with LastPass. I am fairly new to Firefox and have fairly basic skills so would appreciate some help

Hi Reynardine, The icon for Last Pass will be in the list of icons when you click the "+Customize" button. This will show how to add is, since you already have it installed :-)

Hi Reynardine, The icon for Last Pass will be in the list of icons when you click the "+Customize" button. This will show how to add is, since you already have it installed :-)

               Thanks for your response. I managed to fix the problem, with a bit of help in Last Pass Forums, LastPass seems to be working OK now.
   As I only have basic skills and am still familiarizing myself with Firefox ( and LastPass) I think I misunderstood the download/install process. I think I downloaded but failed to install the extension. Still not really sure but LastPass is working. I am still a bit confused about the difference between a plugin and an extension. This also caused a problem . I may have also unnecessarily downloaded the LastPass plugin from the add ons list when things weren't working instead of just using the correct Download that Lastpass. had provided.........
