I have Windows 7 and recently installed Firefox because I love it over Explorer. I am running 10.0.2. When I click on any menu item from the task bar, the drop downs appear and disappear when I try to select an option. The same thing happens when suggested/previous sites are being suggested for new tabs and other websites. I can't select one because they go away with any keystroke. This is really frustrating

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

Worked perfectly. Thank you so much. It was definitely the hardware acceleration that was causing the problem.

Thanks again, Kim
