Hi GeoffN,

Sounds like this is a question for the add on developer. In Thunderbird you can select the checkbox next to the task and delete them one by one. This does not delete the future ones?

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I managed to work round this by a little more effort. If you set up a repeating task with reminders, and wish to delete the instances as they come along, this can be done through clicking through from the reminder>details>edit just this occurrance>delete. The reminder for the first instance then disappears. The repeating task does still stay in the list of tasks under the date of the first occurance though, labelled as repeating.

GeoffN,

I came here looking for an answer to the same question. I came to a different solution, so I thought I would mention it here.

I use the today pane to display my tasks. I have several tasks that repeat daily, but if I would mark them as completed, they would still show up. If I deleted them, they would be gone. And checking the "done" box didn't work.

To resolve, I right-clicked in the today pane tasks area, went to Filter Tasks, and chose Today.

Now I can mark a repeating task as completed, and the task will disappear. But the next day, it is there again. Just what I wanted!

The Today view will show me any tasks that are scheduled for the day, besides ones I have not completed from before.

Note that I have "Show completed tasks" turned off. Also, for some reason, the same view filter does not appear to work in the tasks tab. I don't know if that's a bug or not.

Perhaps this will help someone.
